    I cant believe it actually pulled it on the trailer with so little in the water. Its going to hurt them one day when that cable pops.

    I’m a beginner when it comes to boating but I at least know the trailer needs to be in the water before you try loading the boat

    Wow... I cringed through most of this video. It's like somebody got a life insurance or lottery payout and decided to buy a beautiful boat, trailer, and truck and had no idea what to do with them. I could have cried when I heard the out drive scrape against the concrete. What a waste. For everyone reading this, back the trailer into the water as far as you can to get the bunks wet, even if you pull back out some before loading. Some boat ramps are bad and have a drop off where the concrete ends and the sand gets blown away from power loading. The boat will slide onto the trailer so much easier when wet. A power winch is nice to have but there's no reason to put undue stress on it as well as the eye on the boat itself. One positive aspect of this video is that it teaches you exactly what not to do. I'm considering buying a 240 or 260 DA and learned a lot watching this.

    Thought it was just me before I read the comments. What an easy ramp, with walkways close in on each side. OMG, what a circus. I could just "feel" the plastic hull flexing as it was forced up onto those (ridiculous) bunks. With a boat that heavy you must float it onto bunks, not drag it like an 18' runabout.

  • @peter2679
    @peter2679 3 года назад +1

    If it is low tide the drop off may not let him put the trailer further into the water. I’m not saying this is what happened but it could explain why he did not sink the trailer further down the ramp.

  • @kenniffss
    @kenniffss 7 месяцев назад

    saftey chain BEFORE you pull out, one day your winch rope will snap or the gears will strip and your boat will be on the ramp.
    And yeah, stay away from the winch rope, those things will do serious damge if they snap.

    The fact that they could back up further while it was halfway out of the water says that they started in the wrong place in the first place.
    And where they are standing they could be killed if that cable that's go.
    Having it that far out of the water is creating far too much tension on the cable the winch and the trailer.
    And the amount of time taken to get that boat out they bound to get yelled at at most boat ramps I know of......

    The old guy must not have very much boating experience. Why try to load the boat with the trailer pretty much out of the water. The point of the big guide post so so you can drive the boat not winch it. Then driving up the boat ramp with the lower unit down is a good way to waste a lot of money when you damage the unit or the prop.

    your so careful loading the boat on the trailer but you did not raise the outdrive. Since you have a boat guide the boat will line up on the bunks once you pull the trailer out. Would be just as easier to put the trailer in the water as far as it can go and drive the boat on the trailer with outdrive slightly raise while a second person hooks up on the bow and pull out once outdrive is fully raised.

    I know this video was done 8 yrs ago however why would you post a video that shows just how incompetent some people are when it comes to boating. Come on leaving the drive down and also not using a fending pole to actually hang on to the stern of the boat, and only backing a bunk trailer down part way. Okay so I get it if this was your first time but it shows just how stupid some people are by broadcasting it for the world to see,

  • @joshborgen4880
    @joshborgen4880 2 года назад +1

    No safety chain before pulling up, our drive is all the way down and hits, bunks dry, pulls the boat up and somehow doesn’t hit the V on the trailer. Trailer is too shallow for 7/8 of the video and then goes in and dunks it too far to where the boat can completely float, and if the trailer is not level, the boat will end up crooked. You do not winch and go in reverse. And just the way this guys attitude is makes me want to vomit let alone his ignorance.

    Wow. Ya'll must be super lazy. I can hand crank my 34 pc up the last 8 feet with even getting winded. Also, if you have that much trouble centering the vessel on the trailer that everyone has to disembark to walk it up, spend 200 bucks to put rails on the trailer. Don't know why people don't use rails anymore; Makes loading super easy, even in high wind.
