    I worked for a Sea Ray dealer in San Francisco CA, Boat and Motor Mart when I was in High School and then college back in the '70's. Sea Ray has built rock-solid boats that preform outstanding since the beginning. I had the opportunity to tour and train at the plant Sea Ray had in Phoenix AZ. Watching this video brought back so many great memories of the boats and the people at Sea Ray. I even had the pleasure of meeting Connie Ray, what a fantastic person.

    I am researching Express Cruisers for my 2030 retirement and Sea Ray Cruisers kept popping up for the used budget conscious buyer. I have to say that SEA RAY Cruisers ARE THE CADILLACS OF THE SEA. I have seen BEAUTIFUL Sundancers from the late 80s and 90s on sale FOR 100,000 and I love the fact that they can be easily upgraded with 2020 Technology. If you can't buy a SEXY SUNSEEKER, A SEA RAY IS THAT 🧜‍♀️🧜‍♀️🧜‍♀️🧜‍♀️ MERMAID THAT SINGS TO THE SAILOR IN YOU.

    Keep up the good work ! iMO. You and Hunter build some of the nicest quality and consistent production boats out there I would bet that a joint partnership on building some semi production Yachts would be a great combination to maybe fill that 50 to 125 foot slot I grew up in South Florida and have owned 17 or 18 boats in my lifetime in the old days Chris Craft used to bridge that gap for boaters for many years now There aren’t that many companies bridging the gap from big SportCruiser to MotorbYacht something set up for entertaining a with multiple State rooms for sleep overs / extended cruising be smart and find out what the Wifes want As sad as it may sound you have to keep Mama happy on the next vessel or life can be miserable

    Excellent presentation, the host does a great job. Very informative. Clearly, they have an acronym for AE - Almost Everything. All the attention to detail was convincing, until I saw the duplicate word in their captions at the 16:45 mark. So much for incredible quality control.

    Generally wood and water dont work well together as rot can happen. That said I have had 4 Sea Ray boats and have not had a problem with wood rot. The one I sold last month was a 2000 215 Express Crusier. The only problem I had was with the Mercrusier 5.0 it would vapor lock and not start when the outside temperature got over 85 after a lake run.

      Hello Kim, thank you for your reaction. And no, Sea Ray does not manufacture in Australia. But there are good Sea Ray dealers in Australia, please check www.searay.eu/eu/en/dealer-information.AU.html
      You cannot chose steal bulk heads, which is however not necessary, not even in the harshest conditions. Sea Ray is a premium boat builder, with over 60 years of experience. They are used all over the world, including Australia.
      Please contact one of our colleagues on the other side of the world and give them our warmest regards!

    I’ve bought two brand new Sea Ray boats this year (one SPX 190 and one SPX 210) both built in the Reynosa plant in Mexico, and let me tell you that it’s being a nightmare. Both boats are so badly built, that it shows the lack of quality control. So so sorry to have chosen Sea Ray. I’ve being told that it’s because the plant y Reynosa lacks of lots of quality control, the plant in USA it’s a lot different. Please verify your quality from the Reynosa Plant. I’m selling both boats, and buying other brand for sure.

      It's called benchmarking. That's how industry standards are created. If a process will improve the entire industry then its shared with competitors. If it's a true innovative competitive advantage its guarded. An example would be the use of azdel composite panels in RV's instead of fiberboard which was prone to delamination. That innovation was shared with the entire industry so that all RV's could move beyond the delamination issue. This sort of information is shared in trade associations.

    You show plywood bulkheads that looks not covered in fiberglass and sealed before you install them. Looks like trouble in the long run to me, water will get into this none protected wood in the bulkheads. This guys seams like he does not know quality, skip the Sea Ray boats with bare plywood bulkheads is my suggestion. Boats built this way is just plain wrong is my opinion. I have spent many hours removing soaked wood and replacing it. All my hidden bulkheads even in my ancient Pearson sailboat are all fiberglass no wood except in my decks or visible interior bulkheads. I think their are other brands with solid bulkheads or grid systems that are definitely better than the bare plywood it looks like in this video on the cruiser bulkheads. Is this true Sea Ray are you using plywood not entirely covered before install?

    • @Kemperswatersport
      @Kemperswatersport  5 лет назад +3

      Dear Donald, it is not me in the video but someone from Sea Ray. I have taken a plant tour multiple times and know that Sea Ray does everything to achieve the best resistance against water getting into wood. I cannot imagine that the wood is unprotected even though it may look like it. Sea Ray offers the best warranty terms in the industry after all.
      We have been a dealer for many, many years and I have never seen a Sea Ray with problems due to water entering wood so I´m sure they have taken the necessary precautions.
      Regards,
      Bart Kempers

    I love all Sea Ray boats but please stop offering the underpowered engine option to buyers just to sell more boats. I can't tell you how many 260's I was on with 6 people on board and a 5.7 engine with a bravo 3 duo prop drive. The boat would barely have enough power to get up on plane.

    • @Kemperswatersport
      @Kemperswatersport  6 месяцев назад

      Hello Rich, thank you for following our channel and for your comment. Sea Ray does indeed usually offer different engine options. And some may seem to offer too little power but there can be different reasons to do so. You may know that we are a dealer in The Netherlands. In The Netherlands, like in many countries in Europe, there is a 3.500 kg limit for trailering. Sometimes a smaller engine may result in just being able to still trailer a certain model.
      Also, there are customers who only take their boat up to plane 5% of their boating time, or even less. And if you don't bring friends and just spend time on the water as a couple, why invest more than necessary?
      Furthermore, fuel prices in Europe are I think more than double on average then in the US.
      So, as a dealer, we are happy that we have smaller engine options.
      Warm regards from Holland!
