Is there a wireless chime you can put in the house so you can hear the actual doorbell ringing in the home when someone pushes your wireless Arlo doorbell? We have the wireless Arlo doorbell camera, but no way to hear it in the home unless you have your phone on you and if our kids are home, they aren't on the arlo alerts so they can't hear anything in the house. Would love a link where I could purchase an actual interior audible bell that wirelessly connects to the button outside. Thanks!
This is so helpful! Thank you so much. I have wood too so I love how you show how to fix your 'mistake'. For the height of the doorbell was the top of it at 4 feet or the bottom of it? Thanks so much!!!
Hi Jessica, I'm glad you liked it! I think it was 4 ft from the bottom of the doorbell, but I recommend testing different heights that work for you before drilling your holes.
@@bdogrom what's wrong with it? I've been using it for 5 months now and it works great. The only gripe I have is that the camera has about a 5 second delay from the live view
Wife is having a nightmare setting it up. Going through our router settings, turning off the 5 ghz and downgrading to 2.4 ghz. So now the unit can connect. Then there's the firmware update of the device which is to take up to 5 minutes. It's been 20 minutes and the phone still says Arlo device is still updating, but it states that the Arlo unit will alternate between blue and amber if the unit is updating and it isn't doing that. It's been absolutely infuriating seeing how difficult it is to setup. Yes, it is powered. Yes it is connected. So removing the device and resetting. (So I'm just reporting this so I'm not being completely useless while this is all happening). Was a gift from the parents who have their own.
So I have been researching different wireless doorbell cameras and I really like the Arlo but I wanted to know if they have a community like the Ring cams do? I have not been able to find anything information about that…if you have any links or information about that I would greatly appreciate it!
How do I get my Arlo video door bell to scan my QR code when changing wifi . I can't get it to scan when I press the sync button at the back.without the sync button, it scans when the bell button is pressed but that way, the videobell is not found when search is complete.
With the wired version of this doorbell you can use the existing mechanical chime, but it can be very problematic. Much more reliable even with the wired one to use the arlo dedicated chime. If you insist on using the mechanical chime make sure you have a 16 volt or higher transformer, use the included power adapter (little white device with 2 wires) and set in your app that you are using a mechanical chime. The wired version actually has an internal battery that gets charged from the transformer.
FYI, you need to pay $3/month for the Arlo secure plan if you want to view recordings, set activity zones, interactive notifications and more. Without the subscription, you will only be able to view live streams and get motion notifications. You can not view recordings without a purchase plan.
Yes, good point! It comes with a 90 day free trial for the Arlo secure program. It's actually pretty affordable compared to a competing service. I pay 9.99/mo because I have multiple Arlo cameras in my house
@@seanlovesrealestate Have you checked out Eufy doorbell (it’s both battery power and can be wire)? It’s on sale for $130 currently and offers all of Arlo’s paid functions plus more without a subscription. It comes with the doorbell (2k video) and a home base (wireless and wired) for local storage.

Hi, feeling very frustrated with this products. There were no instructions for installation just to download the app. There were 4 arlo apps! Picked one and after clicking a few times sound installation instructions. They are not easy to find. Spent two hours trying to have the camera catch the QR code. Didn’t work .Went through several clicks in their installation process and finally found a phone number. Someone answered and it took over a half hour to finally have the camera catch the QR code. There were a lot of steps that we had to follow and when we got to the point of viewing the QR code with the camera again it did not work. Had to take a picture of the QR code and enlarge it and finally that made prompted the chime indicating that there was a connection. Then came the wall installation the screws they sent are too small. There is no way to secure the plate to the wall. Unlike this video. now going to Home Depot to find double-sided, tape So buyer beware this is really not a good product. Glad it worked for you, but I can’t say I recommended it was a horrible experience.
