Universal Pictures website says there is an embargo on Wicked reviews until November 19th. So anything publisher before then is promotional material rather than an actual review...
I'm glad Wicked is getting all these positive reviews. I'm a huge OZ fan and Wicked is my favourite stage musical. Not long to wait to check it out myself! ^^
Cynthia Erivo is one of the greatest theater actresses I've seen. She's been nominated for a lead actress Oscar for Harriet. She's has a Tony, Grammy, and Emmy already. She is always powerful.
Something else I've noticed is that there is a concerted effort in some corners to trash this movie in general and Cynthia Erivo in particular. And most of these people haven't seen the film. Yes, Cynthia overreacted to the fan-created poster that obscured her face, but the response to her remarks by some folks was so over-the-top, that it leads one to believe that they were hoping for a PR misstep to present a reason to slam her. Others were so vicious in their condemnation of her that they obviously were upset with her having been hired in the first place.

I don't think i've ever listened to the whole cast recording. But i don't know why, i'm super excited! I just know that movie will make a fan out of me
Don’t worry guys I’m sure he feels the same way about you and instead of sitting there saying you’d rather be in a movie theater or in some other fantasy land maybe you guys could reach out and extending hand and try to find common ground with each other because after all, that’s how true pieces made I don’t care who the president is find some common ground. @@abbeyBominable123 very few spoke out about joker 2 initially because it was played at a festival. Then once it got publicly screened we saw a lot more harsh opinions. These wicked reactions are from public screenings.
I've also felt that the early reviews are praising Ariana more than Cynthia. Both women are major stars and nobody gets to their levels of success without healthy egos. If one of them gets the lion's share of praise, will it put a strain on their friendship? And no, that isn't a sexist remark because I'd wonder the same thing if the two leads were men.
@@LeeBeeDeeTree51 early reviews definitely tend to be more positive because they’re reactions. They can’t go into much detail and only have such limited amount to give their thoughts so it tends to be what worked strongest for the movie. Hope it lives up to the wait though!! 🙏
Who are these reviews by,? Are they just random people or actual film critics. I also think Cynthia kinda turned people off with her diva moment I've the poster recreated by a fan to emulate the Broadway poster. A lot of people are not over it so may be keeping quiet about her.

It’s out of context promotional material seemed a bit off and the trailer’s were never met with the “buzz” that I think universal wanted. Fortunately, the movie sounds like an absolute hit! Can’t wait to check this out for myself 🙌
I can’t go see this until I know for certain I’ll be able to see the whole picture. I don’t have a way of knowing if I’m going to be alive after next year. Hopefully we’ll still be alive by next year’s end.😢
I have been casting talents for musicals and stage performance for few decades. Recently, I am running a performance art academy. We have few hundreds students including teachers and staffs right now. We teach our students not only be professional performers on stage but also be decent and humble humans. After all performance art is always teamworks. I am here to thank you this African middle-aged lady (40s?) who has demonstrated to our students a opposite example of a toxic, self-centric and hideous stage performer is like. And I always remind our students, do not attack critics and audiences no matter what circumstance. We have come to a consensus to boycott this disgusting production. Goes around and comes around.

yeah she made one social media post and people exaggerated so much over it. Its annoying but expected from some of these weird movements

People forget about Dreamgirls, In The Heights and even Rocket Man
