Jonathan is not getting nominated. Cynthia is gonna have a hard time getting in that crowded field and this is not winning picture. It'll get nominated probably but definitely not winning.
God I hope so! Aside from Moulin Rouge! which was phenomenal and one of my all-time favs, modern Hollywood rarely does a musical right. I hated La La Land, for example (First World Problems: the Movie), and The Prom was atrocious, as was Nine, and so many others. But they nailed it with Wicked, and I hope it does well so that more musicals see the light of day.
@@jurney3478do ppl rlly think Lead Actress is crowded this year? It’s actually pretty tame, nowhere near as strong as the category has been these previous years.
Ariana is in for Oscar. At the end me and my friends were talking about how Glinda we were. And the recent wins in best supporting actress from musicals have been for iconic roles (Effie, Sophia). The discrimination and authoritarian issues may also resonate with Oscar voters.
All I asked is they not fuck this up. And it sounds like they didn’t. Happy Day. If it gets the nominations people expect, I don’t see how they don’t give one to Cynthia Erivo.
Just watched the movie and THEY DID NOT F IT UP! We WONNNNN with this! I don’t know why no one is talking about NOMTW it had some sort of emotional impact that lasted for the whole movie and built up to DG at the end when I just couldn’t not cry
Okay, I get what you’re saying-Ariana absolutely crushed it as Glinda, and her big moments were unforgettable (the way she nailed Popular? Iconic). BUT let’s not gloss over Cynthia Erivo’s Elphaba just because her moments were quieter. That dance scene? THE DANCE SCENE. When she walks into the party with that hat, gets laughed at, and Glinda jumps in to dance with her? Cynthia didn’t even need dialogue to destroy my emotions. It was all in her eyes. The hesitation. The heartbreak. The quiet hope when Glinda extends her hand. I was SOBBING, and I’m not just talking about a single tear. I’m talking full-on ugly cry. As a hardcore cinephile, I’ll go as far as to say that scene now ranks as one of the most emotional moments in cinema history. Like, right up there with Maximus revealing his identity in Gladiator, Snape’s ‘Always’ revelation in Harry Potter, and Rose watching Jack sink into the Atlantic (don’t @ me). Cynthia proved that power doesn’t have to be loud-it can be silent, devastating, and entirely unforgettable. So yeah, put some RESPECT on her name. I hope both Erivo and Grande sweep this awards season because they both gave masterclasses, just in different ways. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Cynthia deserves an Oscar..John M Chu deserves a nomination as a director. Set design, costume, hair and makeup.😊 Jonathan Bailey such good dancer and very charming.
I feel like Erivo gets in for Part 2. I actually almost screamed when a certain 2 actresses showed up. I do love that Marissa Bode is an authentic wheelchair user as well
Finally a reviewer who has seen Wicked as a theater experience and read the book, not just based on a review of the original The Wizard of Oz movie. As far as splitting Wicked into two parts, it is like dessert on Thanksgiving, and waiting until the next day because you are so full from dinner. I'll wait - I saw the new movie on Mon and I am still full.
Also, Elphaba has more presence in Part 2, so maybe Cynthia will have to wait for her EGOT in 2026. Glinda is more prominent in Part 1 than in 2, so, hopefully, this will be Ariana Grande’s year for an Oscar. Both of these women were perfection.
I think Grande is going to win, she is incredible in the movie and a true triple threat in every sense of the word. Cynthia was amazing too but best actress is so damn competitive this year I don't know whats going to happen.
@@ChrisThomson-y7l She's been working for 40 years and has made 100 movies, some of which were great. So, yeah, if Emma Stone can have two and Francis McDormand can have 4 , Kidman better get her second!
@ personally I do not think Emma Stone should have won (I liked poor things and all but I am on team Gladstone). Not saying she can’t win, but she doesn’t need to
I know Best Actress is loaded and competitive, but I was surprised how Cynthia remained the center of this story in a way that Elphaba isn't on stage. She was amazing and people need to rethink leaving her out of the conversation for the Top 5.
I saw Wicked yesterday and I was blown away. It was one of the best films that I have ever seen. Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo gave dynamite performances in this. It was a masterpiece. Cannot wait till part 2. 9/10.
Of course they ended the movie at Defying Gravity. That is the end of Act One in the play. So next year, we will see Act Two of the play in the movie. Chu stayed true to the stage show thank goodness! Also, the entire play is 2 hours and 40 minutes! So Chu really expanded on the story. And don't forget: Cynthia Erivo did not "steal the show", she IS the show! She is who this entire story is about. Glinda is a supporting character. Remember the name of the novel: "Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West". This is Elphabas story.
It’s kind of funny how most movie reviewers covering this movie (at least the reviews that I’ve seen) all begin “I’m not a musicals person, and I know virtually nothing about Wicked” So it’s really nice to hear from the perspective of someone who IS familiar with the source material and still has a great critical eye. Thanks for your perspective on this movie!
right? the "i have a confession to make" my eyes roll every time like give me a break, as if it's so shocking, you're 100% right its so nice to hear from people who have seen it and love the musical.
Glinda is not…a rootable character for a lot of Wicked in terms of her behavior on paper. Story wise, there’s such a burden on the actress playing her to make sure you fall in love with her and root for her even tho her actions don’t do that much to do that on their own especially in Act 1 and Ariana Grande knocked it out of the park here. She was really magic.
I feel Cynthia will get nominated for sure at GG and possibly the Oscar. As for Ariana I think people doubted her casting because her voice is thin and now that she’s surprisingly good in the role she’s easily the front runner for best supporting actress
👏🏻 Just wanted to say from a semi new follower, genuinely enjoying your videos going through them. Cheers, Happy Thanksgiving & review your heart out 👏🏻
@@anthonyschroeder2770 Jennifer Hudson and CZJ are absolutely not better actresses, how funny. They were just firing on all cylinders, giving the performances of a lifetime… not unlike Ariana Grande as Glinda in Wicked.
@ wrong again. I swear it’s like pulling teeth. Because once again, we’re back to the drama of it all… Chicago and Dreamgirls are musicals, but they are dramatic musicals vs Wicked being a comedy/fantasy and not a very good one. Mediocre at best.
@anthonyschroeder2770 I love how you keep responding like you know what you’re talking about. No one with taste agrees with you, just take the L and go away with some modicum of your dignity intact.
agree with your analysis of the cinematography. i think their intention was naturalistic and sunlit. but a more filmic filter will fit the fantasy look better. more film grain and slightly higher contrast would add drama
I agree with you on the cinematography. A lot of the sets felt kind of empty for how big they were But other than that, I loved pretty much everything about the movie. The costume design, acting, casting. All super great!
Glad they waited. Cynthia is a god. And Ariana Grande better get that oscar nomination. I feel bad for Cynthia cause she's not gonna get in - Mikey Madison is taking the gold and I love it. But I hope Cynthia gets some flowers for Wicked part 2 Edit: and omg I'm in the same boat with Jonathan And I cheered at the cameo too I'm so happy they did that
Nobody's talking about this but I love the title card. It Reminded me of Pearl, The Wizard of Oz and Gone With The Wind lol. Amazing moving! They rarely make movies like WICKED nowadays. I felt like the day I saw EVITA in 96 and the day I saw Chicago in 2002, all over again. WICKED is an experience.
Ariana has higher chances of winning oscar now than Zoe Saldana... She was so freaking good.. vocals on point, over the top dramatics that were needed, comedic timing of her was insanely good.
Having seen Ari acting occasionally for over a decade, I was STOKED when she was cast as Glinda. And I had complete trust in her. She knocked it out of the park.
I've been on a bit of a binge on 80s fantasy films. Dragonslayer, Excalibur, Willow, Legend, etc. I feel like they're very underrated! Have you watched any of these? Would love to hear your thoughts
Brian have you seen the Broadway show Come From Away? I think there's a pro shot version of it online, but if you get a chance to see it live in person, you should go. After watching your videos for a while now, I feel like that's a show you would really appreciate and love.
I finally saw this was blown away and I went in with high expectations LOVE the musical and I was really worried about Arianna as Glinda and even seeing all the hype about her I went in like "ok lets see how great she is" and she is!!! I think they could have picked a better actress vocally BUT acting was 10/10 for this role! also JB I love him so much I will have to go and re-watch fellow travelers now :) also I will bawl like a baby when they sing For Good in part II
Both actresses were fantastic. It would be a travesty to have only one nominated, and to me, Cynthia stood out. Perhaps more internal and subdued, but I think that made it all the more impressive and remarkable. Ariana was great, but in my opinion, she copied Kristin Chenoweth a lot. Especially vocally. There were times I thought I was listening to Kristin singing. Cynthia really put her own stamp on Elphaba. It wasn’t an Idina impression.
I put a comment on your best supporting actress video that I thought Ariana was going to get a nomination and got all the haters back lashing me on it. It’s good to see people considering it now too
my 70 year old dad is a pretty big Ariana Grande fan and we haven’t been to the movies in AGES so I think we might have to go see it in theater (especially since I have a pass to go for free!) edit: oh and we’re KS residents so feel a bit obligated 😂 nearly every time I travel out of state or internationally I get a “not in Kansas anymore” comment
I listened to Bowen's podcast. He said the majority of his lines they kept in the film were improvised. He was shook by the lines they kept in. Like "I don't see color" lol
I love your passion and intelligent commentary. I remember seeing Torch Song Triology on Broadway in the mid 80's and Kiss of the Spiderwoman in London and was very moved by the performances.
Ariana Grande getting nominated for any cinematic awards would win over her fans as she's been snubbed at the Grammy Awards. (If they are strategic, they'd probably nominate her because it'd bring mileage to the awards season, as well) I won't be mad if she DOES get nominated and eventually win, either. She looked like she was having so much fun and it showed!
Didn't Jennifer Hudson basically "win" an Oscar for singing one song in Dreamgirls? Cynthia's non-singing moments were way better than Jennifers. She at least deserves an Oscar nomination for this role. And the best actress category is far from being deep this year, she might even win.
So much love was put into this movie! You can tell by everyone involved. They wanted to do it right. I will agree with you about the third act- theres too much and not enough. As a veteran of the stage play "The Wizard Of Oz" EVERY time we get to the Emerald City and into the Wizard's chamber, the pace all but just stops. Its just the four of them and the Wizard's monologue that just goes on FOREVER. So yea his room felt huge and the blocking and the characters in and out, seems like that could've been better BUT the rest of the film makes up for it. I don't know if the rumblings of a "Wizard Of Oz" remake is still around but if it is, it needs to be in this universe! Btw I love your channel and content! You are amazing! Thank you for your work! You need to be on TV and a member of these academies!
This is one of those movies that is basically critic-proof. If a critic gives it a negative review, it does not matter to the people who are going to see it no matter what and have already decided that they love it even before seeing it. If a critic gives it a positive review, it does not matter to the people that already know they have no interest and will never watch it.
I just saw the film this afternoon and totally agree with your review. Visually - sets, costumes, props - it's stunning and the cast is fantastic. The revolving shelves in "the book place" were my favorite set piece. I remember when the casting was announced how delightful Grande had been as Penny in the live "Hairspray," so didn't have as many doubts, but she blew me away. The hair flips are to die for, but her most impressive feat is showing Galinda's transition from loathing to loving Elphaba with nary a word of dialogue.
But Grande role is the lead actress in this movie! It's surprising because you complain a lot about category fraud but not mention the fraud in this case!
I don't agree, it wasn't even right when they put the role of Glinda in lead at the Tony Awards. Wicked is Elphie's story, Glinda is an obvious supporting character and always in the second half of the stage show as well as this picture.
Brian , my mom told me this story that when she was a kid, she would watch the wizard of oz , on a black and white tv, not realizing oz was in color until my grandparents bought a color tv and she was in shock
A great and fair review of Wicked, Brian. My husband and I first saw the film Wicked at a small, 100+ year old theater that has been divided into two screens (no 3D or enhancements) and we loved it. My husband said he wanted to see the film again (a couple of days later) in 3D, because he thought this version would make the visuals of the film come more vibrant and alive. We did and he said seeing it in 3D did not meet his expectations visually. Me, not being a film technical person, is my husband’s take on track with your thoughts on the cinematography?
Ariana Grande's blonde wig alone should guarantee the Makeup and Hairstyling Oscar nomination. that wig is the stuff of legend. it's an important moment for hair and cinema. toss toss.
This is a great review, Brian! I think some of the points you brought up about the movie are ones that I've always felt about the show. Elphaba is inherently a very internal role, especially in act one until Defying Gravity, so I also don't see Cynthia Erivo getting in for Best Actress. That being said, with all of the stuff we know she has coming in act two (or, Part 2), she may have a shot the following year. G(a)linda is also the showier role in the first act, so I'm not surprised that Ariana Grande is getting more of the attention. It'll be so interesting to see how people react to her character shift in Part 2. And I know EXACTLY what part of the story you are referring to with the Wizard that goes on and on and on. I'll be honest, and say that, every time I've seen Wicked, the energy just gets zapped during the scenes with the Wizard. I just don't think the role and the scenes with him are particularly well written in the show. But, alas, it is what it is, and I'm sure Jeff Goldblum does what he can with it. Anyway, I can't wait to see it, and your review got me even more excited.
If Ariana Grande wins an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress, you know who I want to present the award to her? Definitely not RDJ, instead I want Ariana DeBose to present the award to Grande as they both share in common : Both are Arianas, Oscar for Supporting Actress, and won for playing a musical role in a musical movie, what else? 😁
Well, if they follow last year's system it would be DaVine Joy Randolph which is still better than RDJ. Also, if they follow last year's system and bring out a bunch of past winners of the award, they should definitely have Ariana Debose doing the speech for Ariana Grande!
I may be alone on this, but I like the toned down look of the film. I think it's just an opinion of aesthetics, I don't like the really sharp contrast of colors and light that are popular in Marvel, Burton films, and even Oz the Great and Powerful.
I’m so glad that the film version of Wicked didn’t disappoint. my favorite Broadway musical is Les Miserable and, unfortunately, the same can not be said
Oh god 🙄 you're just nit picking. Personally I loved the pastel coloration they chose as it didn't feel like the usual CGI effect out there. And it's not necessarily a "cinematography" problem. It's simple color grading choice.
Bernard Telsy casting director - OSCAR how fabulous would that be? He deserves it. Ole School Hollywood/Theatre Person did the casting for Rachel Getting Married and other fantastic films where casting choices were always talked about them, lovingly. He loves bringing forward and taking risks w/ new true blue artists. Like here with Ariana Grande
I've never seen the play, and i will but I've yet to see the movie. I read the book long ago when it came out, the play and the movie are not super aligned with the book? (It's what I think, I'm asking.)
I hope your volume in the theater was at the right level. I so it twice and the first time the volume was below optimum which had an impact . Later I read the director noticed this volume problem too. The second I saw the movie the volume was higher and I got chills
I saw it today, and I was blown away. I've always loved Oz movies and tv series (for the most part). I have never seen a production of the stage musical, but I have been wanting to see this for years. I love the Wizard of Oz movie, also the Return to Oz, Oz the Great and Powerful, the old silent movies, the cartoons,... even the sci-fi adaptation called Tinman. But I did not like that other contemporary series called Emerald City. Saw the first episode of that one, and it put me off of the rest of the series. On BGT about five or six years ago, there was a young girl who sang flawlessly Defying Gravity. From that, I got the soundtrack. They are phenomenal songs. Since then, I've always wanted to see a visual concept of how the story plays out, to what goes through my imagination when I hear the songs. This part one of the story so far has exceeded my expectations. I'm looking forward to part two next year. And, maybe in a couple of years, they could splice the movies together to make an extra long full skeptical, which could be phenomenal.
I am not a great fan of musicals. I have about 12 in my library but you have convinced me to see this movie. I will buy it on Blu Ray when it comes out.
I really like this movie, the story, acting, cinematography, set designs, costume - everything! yes it does feel about 15 min too long but i can overlook that. The 2 lead actresses are just total gems. I hope it does well at the award circuit and can't wait for part 2.
Some of the scenes were unnecessarily long. For instance the Ozdust Ballroom when Elpheba comes in and proceeds to dance while the attendees snicker. She dances like ten minutes but in the stage musical it’s about a minute.
I loved every minute of this movie! I was blown away by Ariana, and I too, didn't think she was going to do well when she was first cast. I do think this movie deserves to be nominated for all the top Oscar categories. However, it will be a little hard to win Best Picture/Adapted Screenplay considering it's a "fun" movie.
Erivo will mis but only because it's too competitive but Grande will probably get in but I find it how people actually think she's going to beat Zoe Saldana or Danielle Deadwyler.
Saw the movie last night, and loved it! It's Best Picture worthy. Certainly deserves BP nod, as well as costume, production design, best leading actress (Erivo) and Best Supporting (Grande). With the amount of work that went into, I wouldn't mind a Best Director nod, too. This is an instant Hollywood classic, and I urge everyone to watch it. 9/10.
Ariana will win the Oscar just because wicked is gointo be so popular (wink, wink) and that will be the only nom for wicked acting wise. Ariana delivered so hard and stole the show.
I haven’t seen it yet (I’m kinda waiting to because I have some curiosity despite not being super familiar with the musical). But isn’t that category fraud?
@ yeah, ig that makes sense. Kinda like how Brad Pitt was “supporting” in once upon a time in Hollywood despite being the co lead of the movie with a ton of screentime.

Jonathan is not getting nominated. Cynthia is gonna have a hard time getting in that crowded field and this is not winning picture. It'll get nominated probably but definitely not winning.
One successful movie musical in a blue moon does not a movie musical renaissance make.
@@jurney3478 I'm referring to Jon M Chu :)
She racist black woman who hates her own kind
I just saw it tonight. It would be weird to have Grande nominated and not Erivo. She would deserve a nomination as well.
Lead is too crowded while Supporting is wide open. Margot Robbie/America Ferrera 2.0
They both should be in Actress; Even if Mikey Madison has basically already won that award
@@cokedudebestmate7099 Is Madison really THAT good? I'm still hoping Kidman will win her second Oscar for Babgirl.
@@blackforest825Kidman doesn’t need another Oscar
@@ChrisThomson-y7l She's been working for 40 years and has made 100 movies, some of which were great. So, yeah, if Emma Stone can have two and Francis McDormand can have 4 , Kidman better get her second!
@ personally I do not think Emma Stone should have won (I liked poor things and all but I am on team Gladstone). Not saying she can’t win, but she doesn’t need to
This year for movies… this is THE BEST we got for the last decade.
Blown away by Ariana and Cynthia! Absolutely gorgeous on all levels. I was so happy to see Idina and Kristin in the movie, too.
It’s kind of funny how most movie reviewers covering this movie (at least the reviews that I’ve seen) all begin “I’m not a musicals person, and I know virtually nothing about Wicked”
So it’s really nice to hear from the perspective of someone who IS familiar with the source material and still has a great critical eye.
She was really magic.
currently, Wicked is in my bottom 10
@@anthonyschroeder2770Aren’t you tired? You’re under every comments foaming at the mouth
It's absolutely without question going to be a huge Oscar contender
I feel Cynthia will get nominated for sure at GG and possibly the Oscar. As for Ariana I think people doubted her casting because her voice is thin and now that she’s surprisingly good in the role she’s easily the front runner for best supporting actress
😮🎉 Ariana shallow. Hope for her to fail to get a nomination
No. Zoe Saldana is easily the front runner. Because she is a well respected and loved actress. Ariana is not.
lived in nyc my entire life, never seen the broadway musical. saw the film last night though and thoroughly enjoyed it.
👏🏻 Just wanted to say from a semi new follower, genuinely enjoying your videos going through them. Cheers, Happy Thanksgiving & review your heart out 👏🏻
It’s about to be a serious contender at this year’s Oscars.
Supporting actors in musicals have great Oscar track records: Joel Grey, Catherine Zeta Jones, Jennifer Hudson, Anne Hathaway
Except every one you just mentioned are actually great actresses in general. Grande is not.
@@grantwoodby3223 I love how you have you have your head so far up Ariana’s ass that you think her shit smells like roses
agree with your analysis of the cinematography. i think their intention was naturalistic and sunlit. but a more filmic filter will fit the fantasy look better. more film grain and slightly higher contrast would add drama
Cynthia for Oscar
Ariana will not only be nominated, she will win, it’s giving Catherine Zeta Jones in Chicago
I agree with you on the cinematography. A lot of the sets felt kind of empty for how big they were
But other than that, I loved pretty much everything about the movie. The costume design, acting, casting. All super great!
John Chu SHOULD get best director.
Glad they waited.
Cynthia is a god. And Ariana Grande better get that oscar nomination. I feel bad for Cynthia cause she's not gonna get in - Mikey Madison is taking the gold and I love it. But I hope Cynthia gets some flowers for Wicked part 2
Edit: and omg I'm in the same boat with Jonathan
And I cheered at the cameo too I'm so happy they did that
Nobody's talking about this but I love the title card.
Yeah, I gasped at the title card! It was an awesome call back to The Wizard of Oz.
Come From Away is one of my favorite musicals! Great recommendation.
Not in the the top ten? Okay brian u lost me there lol
It’s good to see people considering it now too
Only because Supporting isn't very crowded this year. If Wicked came out last year, they both would have been snubbed
my 70 year old dad is a pretty big Ariana Grande fan and we haven’t been to the movies in AGES so I think we might have to go see it in theater (especially since I have a pass to go for free!)
edit: oh and we’re KS residents so feel a bit obligated 😂 nearly every time I travel out of state or internationally I get a “not in Kansas anymore” comment
Mr. B excellent review. I enjoyed it as well. I think it SHOULD win Best Picture. It's definitely the year's best movie.
A very fair review.
Cynthia is a Tony winner, as well as an Oscar nominee. I think the G and the O toward that EGOT are coming sooooooon. BAFTA's in the bag, btw.
She already has the G and the E. She's only missing the O.
Didn't Jennifer Hudson basically "win" an Oscar for singing one song in Dreamgirls? Cynthia's non-singing moments were way better than Jennifers. She at least deserves an Oscar nomination for this role. And the best actress category is far from being deep this year, she might even win.
I'm still depressed at how bad "cats" was, b/c I love cats the musical, so I get your anxiousness.
I hear. One of my favorite musicals is Jesus Christ Superstar and I'm really iffy about Hollywood making an updated version.
What do you think about Oscar chances for Cynthia Erivo?
none
Cynthia for the win…💯
Ariana Grande started off as an actor in Victorious.
Brian , my mom told me this story that when she was a kid, she would watch the wizard of oz , on a black and white tv, not realizing oz was in color until my grandparents bought a color tv and she was in shock
Ariana's voice range is unmatchable!
Maybe they will/should save the Oscar push for part 2. But I'm an Ari fan so I'd love that nomination!
I can see them both getting noms, especially Cynthia. There’s always a couple popular picks.
If Ariana Grande wins an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress, you know who I want to present the award to her? Definitely not RDJ, instead I want Ariana DeBose to present the award to Grande as they both share in common :
Both are Arianas, Oscar for Supporting Actress, and won for playing a musical role in a musical movie, what else? 😁
Well, if they follow last year's system it would be DaVine Joy Randolph which is still better than RDJ. Also, if they follow last year's system and bring out a bunch of past winners of the award, they should definitely have Ariana Debose doing the speech for Ariana Grande!
What’s wrong with RDJ here? Are you still mad he didn’t shake Ke Huy Quan’s hand? Oh well, he’s still 10x the actor that Ariana is
@ChrisThomson-y7l Did you read my entire comment? Did I even shade on RDJ?
@ no, but some people seem to shade him for that. I thought you were one of them, honest mistake
The Supporting Oscar for the previous year for actor presents to the Supporting actress. Unless they do the group of previous actors
I may be alone on this, but I like the toned down look of the film. I think it's just an opinion of aesthetics, I don't like the really sharp contrast of colors and light that are popular in Marvel, Burton films, and even Oz the Great and Powerful.
whats ur top 10 of year
I’m so glad that the film version of Wicked didn’t disappoint. my favorite Broadway musical is Les Miserable and, unfortunately, the same can not be said
I’m so glad I get to watch you eat crow about Ariana’s performance 😂😂😂 We love you still! 🤍
Arianna Grande was great, but she was a combo of Clueless and Legally Blonde. Cynthia Erivo was simply amazing.
And Grande was so flat acting wise for such a highly comedic role
Curious to know how you felt about the Chenoweth/Menzel scene and whether it was worthwhile or even necessary
It was good that they were in it! Paying homage to
Oh god 🙄 you're just nit picking. Personally I loved the pastel coloration they chose as it didn't feel like the usual CGI effect out there.
And it's not necessarily a "cinematography" problem. It's simple color grading choice.
Here in Germany we have to wait (for some reason) until December 11 to see it. So unfair, I am so excited!
you can watch it on the 4th december, I have tickets :)! google it!
Don’t worry, it is definitely worth the wait!! Will be that much sweeter when you finally get to watch it ❤
Bernard Telsy casting director - OSCAR how fabulous would that be?
The second I saw the movie the volume was higher and I got chills
i might finally venture out to the theater for this one!
You won’t regret it. I left crying and so proud of the cast
I'm not surprised by Ariana's rave review, since she has great comedic performances on SNL.
@@ynhingo4856 I have this dream where SNL convinceres her to be in the cast for a full year.
Watching it for the 3rd time tonight 🎉 Cheers
Ariana is amazing ❤
I can’t wait to see the film! You sold me on it!
If Grande or Erivo miss the oscars, I bet Brian will make a video to explain why they were snubbed to defend this trash.
Yes it will be relevant 50 years from now.
Ariana will win the Oscar just because wicked is gointo be so popular (wink, wink) and that will be the only nom for wicked acting wise. Ariana delivered so hard and stole the show.
I believe you mean pop-u-lar.
Hopefully Cynthia gets nominated at some point during awards season. I know it’s very competitive this year but she deserves the recognition.
I haven’t seen it yet (I’m kinda waiting to because I have some curiosity despite not being super familiar with the musical). But isn’t that category fraud?
@@ChrisThomson-y7l I mean Elphaba is the protagonist of the film.
@ yeah, ig that makes sense. Kinda like how Brad Pitt was “supporting” in once upon a time in Hollywood despite being the co lead of the movie with a ton of screentime.
FINALLY! A review I care to hear. I’ve been listening to reviews from people who haven’t seen the stage production and it’s been so annoying! Absolutely love your videos! 🖤💚🩷
The end of the first act is FAST just by the nature of how the story goes. It works on all levels.
