    Guys I’m using AI synthesized speech because I’m dealing with a speech impairment issue. It does not save me any time to make videos this way. If you watch my videos where I use my own voice you’ll see that my natural voice has deteriorated. I am being treated for it so hopefully I’ll be able to speak normally again. But if not, AI will only get better so just try to put up with it for now pls. Thnx.

    Very cool video, man. Been following you since you started and can say that you’ve really hit your stride. Fun, interesting, informative and non-biased. Keep it up, man.
    Seems like, even though you praise it in the video, but this board has too many negatives to seriously consider it as a go-to board:
    Easy chipping of the wood, the temperature issue, quality control issues on the controller, not easy maintenance, starting from zero on an incline issues, etc. Yes, it’s small and light, but there are other options out there, which are better built it seems.

    That motor will get destroyed here in the north. They try to clean the sand on the roads after winter but after cleaning roads there are still small pebbles and dust on the roads.
    After a few hard rainy days the dust washes mostly away.

    i dont know given the amount of issues and oddities that come with this board I really can’t find a reason to put it above any other electric short board. $1300 is an outrageous price for something this mediocre. build quality seems cheap and it shows in the ESC performance and cheap remote.

  • @cesarlin
    @cesarlin 9 месяцев назад +7

    Love the aesthetic and size/weight, but there’re just too many quirks to justify the price. Low clearance of direct drive is okay if it’s easier to change wheels, and wheel bite for just 80mm wheels is kind of problematic. Plus the imperfections of the board and the remote make it looks like a beta version instead of a launch product. Again love the idea and the aesthetic, no problem with the price and performance, but will wait for a more “finished “ version.

    It would be cool to see more boards that focus on portability and have a cruiser or downhill board aesthetics. I've been skating a traditional skateboard since I was a kid and use the electric skateboard mainly to get to work or run some errands - it's practical and fun. I don't need it to have crazy range or speed, like you said around 30 km/h is enough. The weight and carryabilty in general is super important. This board looks very interesting but the contrast of well designed and executed trucks, deck with the DIYish jankiness of the cables is a bit discouraging given the prices. Hopefully they polish it up a bit :)

    Love the videos! As someone curious about e-skateboards, but with a history of crashing hard a couple times on a regular skateboard then never skating again, I keep searching for what it's like to brake on an e-skateboard. One of the draws for me is the ability to brake without needing to foot brake, but nearly all the e-skate videos I've seen seem to shy away from really showing braking performance/limits. Any chance you could explore braking performance of different boards in a video sometime?

    • @DanielKwan
      @DanielKwan  9 месяцев назад

      Braking performance is somewhat difficult to quantify for an eboard. Shorter braking distance doesn’t necessarily equal better because you can get thrown off or lose traction. The important part is that the brake control feels smooth and predictable. Fortunately all the decent boards nowadays have pretty good brakes - both in terms of braking power and smoothness. And if they feel too strong or too weak, most boards nowadays let you adjust brake strength.

  • @user-ib5mx8ro4k
    @user-ib5mx8ro4k 9 месяцев назад +3

    Idk why it’s so hard to build a good commuter board. All the batteries with the exception of the wave are way too big. There’s so many places where access to charging is available throughout the daily commute. Commuter boars need to focus on weight. Even two motors are over kill. Nobody is going 20-30 mph in the city. It’s not about cost or price. Reducing batteries, motors, and speed, will result in massive weight savings and reduced costs. There’s so many options for large heavy boards but zero for lightweight commuter boards. My only option is to piece together my own board due to the lack of options.

    As for the Market turning the other way.
    That might be true but Off Road allows the rider to explore parks and more that would normally be overlooked by a push boarder.
    So to me there is a need for this and it would allow people to ride in many more places together.

    Raith is "just down the road" from my work. While I respect their engineering, I have to admit I worry about the future for a company that sells a board capable for doing 130kmph out of the box, to "just anyone", limited only by those who will pay for it. It feels like a legal timebomb waiting to go off, disclaimers or no disclaimers. It feels like a matter of time until they're in court because someone wound up in a wheelchair or dead and the family is claiming the board either failed or should not have been sold in the first place. I am pretty sure they're not much bigger than a couple of guys in a house.

    Why does the plastic control wheel have a cover that falls off? Could it not be part of molded the control wheel, so it doesn't fall off? We don't all live in good weather climates. The connector wires for the motors, are poorly designed, with that loose cover, and the motors have wires exposed, but water and dirt will get in there. This thing will last abbout 1 to two years, and then you buy a new one. Not something you'll want as a daily driver. I'll stick to my Boosted Board! 😂

    The review of this board is unfair to the manufacturer in someways, or maybe not. So is this a demo board then? Because it doesn’t seem ready to be seen by customers. I think we all trust your opinion so you should be open with your thoughts on the boards shortfalls imo. Clearly they should have reapplied new grip tape so it didn’t look like you put it in a microwave. The wiring portion looks poorly engineered and cheap. Too much slack could be solved by a couple wire clamps to prevent chaffing. Even the gauge looks small and that insulation is used for speaker wire indoors. I prefer a
    a tech flex with kevlar sleeving for the durability and professional finish. The amount of vibration from the stiff board and street wheels will lead to shorted cabling if they leave it as is. And motors that can’t go uphill? For 1200$ this board is extremely underpowered and under ranged. But where it shines to me are the looks. The orange trucks and battery housing paired with the deck is what made me decide to watch the video to begin with. So it’s pretty, but needs to be refined and I still wouldn’t pay that much. This is a 500$ board with a 700$ paint job. Am I wrong?
