I loved the first Hotel Transylvania and never knew Tartakovsky worked on it. He really made it something special and the way he added 2D characteristics to the 3D animation really made it look good! When I think of that film, my mind instantly thinks of all the exaggerated still poses and facial expressions.
And that man deserves an award for removing motion blur in a 3D animated movie, more 3D films and shows should follow suit. The action and movements all look so much clearer without an annoying motional blur smudging everything. I remember watching the final season of the 3D Clone Wars and was annoyed by how the show had added motion blur. It really made some of the season's actions scenes less clear than in older seasons. What should have been newer, better animation was marred by the addition of motion blur.

And I honestly think people who are trying to make an issue out of their relationship because Jack is apparently immortal while Ashi is younger are frankly just looking for something to complain about. In fact, I think people overlook the symbolic nature of their relationship, Jack & Ashi represent yin & yang. If Jack vs Aku was about light vs the darkness then Jack & Ashi's relationship is about the harmony between light and darkness which is ultimately leads Jack defeating Aku once and for all. The only fundamental problem that I had with the series finale is that it felt too rushed and you can tell that Genndy wanted to do much more to bring Samurai Jack to an epic conclusion.

I just love the fighting sequences in Clone wars and Samurai Jack. A wideshot of all the action, little to no dialogue and pauses between the fights.

Man, a dream team up for me would be Genndy Tartakovsky and Zack Snyder. Both their styles of direction and storytelling are so similar, yet I feel like they’d work off each other rather than just do the same thing.

Growing up, Genndy to me was a cinematic cartoonist. If you saw his name anywhere on it, it was guarenteed to be an experience like no other. Usually a grand epic adventure that's full of great references or a serious story that doesn't talk down, but at eye-level.
There is so many shows I've discovered thanks to his work, that I keep finding myself going back just to see something I've missed or to experience a grand story all over again.

The most iconic thing about Genndy to me has to be his type of art styles. My art style is very geometric(pfp is very old, pay no attention), so seeing someone with many geometric art styles can be motivating for me to continue doing art.

Samurai Jack was actually inspired by Frank Miller's Ronin and Kurosawa's Samurai movies.

There was also an episode in Samurai Jack where Jack fought alongside Spartans. That was inspired by Frank Miller's 300 comic. :)

or it could be a combination of Kurosawa, Miller, AND the 70s Kung Fu series. I can pull up my source that says Kung Fu was an inspiration for Samurai Jack if you don't believe me.

Samurai Jack and Clone Wars. Bro, the cinematic references and pure utter utilization of the characters to their max potential in Clone Wars is mind blowing. I love Samurai Jack, it blew my mind when it first came out. But the Clone Wars was so refined and perfected, there is almost no flaws besides it’s short length.

I'm a casual fan of the guy. I have seen most of his works, I had no idea he had anything to do with Hotel Transylvania. That is so cool. My kid loves those movies. I enjoyed his works as a kid and now my kids are as well (my son has also watched, and loves dexter's lab)
Can't wait to show him samurai jack.

Primal is everything you could want in animation, theres nothing left behind, is a cruel yet beautiful story that everyone can understand beyong languaje.
I felt anger, rager, sadness, joy, the whole spectrum of emotions possible with was very surprising coming from a "cartoon" Primal is the very best work of gendy and i have seen almost every cartoon of his, starting from dexter that i raised watching it. I have such high place for primal.

Idk If I agree with the hole Jack relationship being "yikes". But it was an easy out for the show. Endings are hard to nail almost every show misses. Im not sure what a perfect ending would look like with this show. since its more of an episodic adventure and we dont have a ton of his family backstory or even his early life.
That being said its a master piece and so is primal. Primal has nailed everything so far for me 10/10 every episode but one.

I don't care what anyone says, season 5 of Samurai Jack overall was a fitting conclusion. Bittersweet yes, there is one episode that felt rushed and this is before Aku captures Jack. Each episode had a good split between of course evil and good, but more of the character's inner nature balancing out or coming to closure with inner demons and almost giving up. Still there's some fight that brings out the most hope in them. I love it especially Primal. When that came out it felt like a fresh breath of air in animation all over again in such a long time. I felt completely drained and tired of looking at the same animated shows each person did was a duplicate of another. Don't get me wrong, some had a great storyline and character development, but it was just the style was tiresome to look at.

I love how Clone Wars, with 2-5 minute episodes, routinely had more dialogue than Samurai Jack, with 25 minute long episodes. There is something magical about Jack's use of silence. It so often puts me in mind of the traditional Hollywood epic and its capacity for breathing on a moment.
