- I remember growing up with a version of this dish. I loved it then and have made it for my kids when they were growing up and here it is today, a slightly different version of it. I call it ‘Home Style’ because it isn’t considered true Hungarian Goulash. Which is more like a stew but ‘we Americans’ or I should say I, typically have ground beef and pasta. This is full of rich hearty flavors and it is so good. I hope you like this version of Goulash.

Amy your such a good grandmother 👵 ❤️. All kids needs a special grandma.
My daddy made Goulash when I was little...I just remember him making it in the kitchen...memories...I am about to be 48 and my daddy passed a few months ago right before Christmas...the things you remember....love watching your shows!
I can remember when I was in school and smelling goulash cooking in the cafeteria. It was my favorite meal in school. I think this dates me doesn’t it.
The grandchildren are going to love this dish its a winner Amy . So full of goodness and simple for the children to eat . Thanks so much Amy for sharing this amazing meal .💛🧡💛👍
My grandma made goulash when I was a kid. I LOVED it. It was my absolute favorite food haha. She died 3 days after i turned 6, and i still remember it. She made it just basic tomatoes, meat, onion, pasta but I wanna try this!!
Hi Amy, We just made Hungarian Goulash for the first time. It came out so delicious 😋 my 26 year old son cooks dinner with me every night, he Loves to cook, so that is a big help to me. I am 55 years old and at 48 in 2015 I was diagnosed with a incurable rare cancer on my spine which makes it very difficult for me to stand fr longer than 5 minutes. I use a bar height chair to sit by the stovetop and cook, but having my Sons help is a blessing. I liked to use the Smoked Paprika in any dish that calls for Paprika, it is the best!!! I will try your version of Goulash next time. I put the broth in the cans also to get out every bit of tomatoes or juices left in the bottom of the cans!! I am going to look through your videos I am looking for a good Chili recipe. Thanks for your videos and Love seeing you doing a cooking vlog. Take Care 👋😊❤
My family loves goulash and no matter how much I make it never goes to waste!! Love your channel Amy! Easy everyday meals... You rock! Thanks xoxo
I am From Michigan Too.But I'm From North Of The Mackinaw Bridge And I Love Tour Videos.Especially The One When You Made Pasties.
My husband and I have been married 35 years. I made this a couple of weeks ago for him. His mother had to feed four hungry boys and this was her go too. I don’t use green pepper because she didn’t use it. I cut the onion in big dice and only use 🍅 sauce and S&P. He loves it, they ate it once a week. YUK!
Yea, we can hear it or I can. You know, that green pepper really makes the dish. Goulash was my favorite meal growing up. When I started making it, I left out the green pepper and it had no flavor! I'm back to adding the green pepper. lol
😋 I’ve been wanting to make this perfect thank you so very much for this goulash , has definitely been in my thoughts
Hi Amy good night how are you doing food looks so good and delicious 😍God continue to bless you and your beloved family always Amy 🙏🏻😇love you ❤
hey Amy here's a tip for you the tomato paste if you open both sides of the can you can just push it into your dish and its easier than using a spoon to get it all out
My kids loved your recipe for this and they are picky eaters !! Thankyou!!!!!! When I make my own dish for myself I wanna add some green beans or chili beans or kidney maybe even ranch style beans but some type of bean and corn cause that's what my mom use to use and she added taco seasoning soo good
First yay!! Hello there amy, nice and yummy recipe. Xoxo 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖 princess

And this will be perfect for me...

@@gxs3604 Not as yet, family issues are happening now, but Thanks for your reply.
Hi Amy! I love watching you cook! I bought some of that Sweet Paprika.
Chris must be a happy guy. He has a wife that definitely knows her way around the kitchen.
I love to hear that crunch when I chop veggies as well! 😊
I am making goulash tomorrow night for dinner!

Amy you look absolutely beautiful . I’m glad that onion didn’t stop you from making this awesome video. My ate my version of this when they were young. I even added a small amount of velveta for them. They would have loved the noodles you used . Thank you for making this video.
Hi Amy, you look just fine! Cute as always and I love you hair pulled back . I think you look fresh and glowing!

Amykitten
Great
Yummmy!! 😋
There must be a 100 ways to make goulash. I throw whatever leftover veggies I have so it comes out different every time. My mom never added garlic but I like to use lots of it!
I love these videos
What sides did you add? Garlic toast? Salad? Looks yum!
Супер, я обожаю Вас. 👍💓💓💓
Looks delicious, wish we had smellivision 😂
I love your channel Amy I adore the show and being a fellow Oregonian
Anymore update on kitchen renovation project !?
I think out east , they call this "American chop suey".
Yes! I’m from Massachusetts and this is what we call it!!
Yum. But we always added corn too.
Hiii Amy!!
I'm a huuge fan!! I LOVE & ENJOY watchin yr cooking channel!! As I was watching this goulash video... I miight have to give you a tip!! So... I watched you toss in the meat... RIGHT ON THE VEGETABLES... iii criiinged!! Um... In my latin culture, we wld brown & flavor the meat... PRIOR to introducing it to the vegetables... actually... the MEAT... Is the most important part of this dish... meaning... you cook it & season it to its specialty "FIRST" before introducing the VEGETABLES. LOL... NEXT! I watched as you tossed in the noodles OVERR the meat & vegetables...😳...☝😬... umm... my advice... Brown those noodles with the SAME spices you used for everything else... then... boil them... for 15 minutes... let them sit for another 15 to rise... THEN!! AS THEY ARE READY TO ABSORB EVERYTHING & ANYTHING!! YOU INTRODUCE THE NOODLES TO THE MEAT & VEGETABLES!! OMGOODNESS!! YOU WILL NEEEEVERRR EAT GOULASH AS YOU COOKED IT IN THIS VIDEO!! YOU WILL ABSOLUTELY "LOVE"!! THIS GOULASH!! & NEVER GO BACK!! I wld also add a diced potato, celery, leaks, an entire clove of garlic ((Just toss that bad boy iN the meat!! & let it do its THING... AS YOU ADD MORE IN, the flavors ALL COME ALIVE!!)) oregano w cilantro; a dash a dash... ok... try... teaspoons, if a big mix... try tablespoons... you WILL ABSOLUTELY LOVE this recipe!
In myy family goulash, we also add diced olives & rinsed black beans OR if not ground beef... then shredded beef! 🤌UHH!! THEE BEESSTT!! *BUT... to each... his own 😁👍
HAPPY EATING EVERYONE!!

No disrespect but why does amy still use the Roloff name if shes divorced and married to Chris?
Because that's her professional name and the name of her kids?
She has emassed millions of dollars from her businesses. She would be crazy to go by her new name inane of her established businesses. Why do people still ask this old fashioned question?
Great video Amy hello from michigan go chips
I also put perfume on daily feels done

What kind of perfume do you like
I call them cork screw noodles!
♡♡♡
If you keep your onions in the refrigerator, your eyes won’t water!
Interesting! 😀
Never works for mine. I always keep my onions in the fridge they still make my eyes water. 😕
Watching the video all the way through...I think you have added a lot of spices. Everyone makes this dish different and I am one of those people. Never made it this way.
I share your habit of perfume. I feel under dressed without it.
Amy why do you still go by roloff?
Amy order sweet paprika from Amazon
Looks good but she kinda jumps around talking little to much but do think I'd like the goulash.
And by the way, beside this food in the video is not being Goulash at all, because just the paprica (red sweet pepper) will not make it Goulash, the correct way to spell it is GULYÁS. Definitely no pasta and no ground meat in it. FOR SURE. Here is the authentic recipe:
3 tablespoons oil or lard.
5 medium onions, diced.
2 1/2 teaspoons salt.
2 1/2 liters (2 1/2 quarts) water, plus a few extra spoonfuls.
3 tablespoons Hungarian paprika (sweet)
1/2 teaspoon black pepper.
1 tablespoon caraway seeds.
1.5 kg (3 1/4 lbs) beef, chopped into bite-sized pieces.
She told us it’s the American version of goulash. She wasn’t actually making Hungarian goulash. 😉
@@theresalibert it is NOT a version, the only common ingredient is the sweet red pepper, nothing else, in fact it is a completely different food. Usually Americans are very inventive, why don't they find a name that fits the food.
@@cheekywoman because it’s been called that for many years I cannot change that and neither can you. It’s a recipe. Just a recipe.
@@theresalibert No, it is a whole CULTURE and HISTORY, you unfortunately know nothing about, and unfortunately neither does Amy. It is sad. At least for me.
Originally gulyás was a food of shepherds out alone in the wilderness, in the boondocks with their animals, that's why it was so simple, there was no fancy pasta or ground meat in it. Just the basics, onion, meat, and red pepper and water and what ever they can pull out of the ground, like potato, different carrots... that's all... GULYÁS is actually the name of the HERDSMAN.
Anyway, I was addressing this to Amy, not to a lot of cynical ignorant commentator who has no respect to other people's culture and tradition.
Amy, you really need a bigger dutch oven, 🙃
I can’t watch your cooking anymore because you keep clanging soooooo Loud on your pots with spoons. But I love your videos
She's not very delicate is she? She reminds me of a bull in a china shop
Thats not goulash, not even close
I cringe every time she picks up that salt box. She handled the raw hamburger and then sticks her fingers into the salt. I’ve seen her do that with fish too. I think those salt boxes are unsanitary especially when she never washes her hands and licks her fingers while she cooks. 😬
Ohhhhhhh I have thought the same thing 100 times believe you me. I wonder what's growing in that salt box. I have never seen a hostess on a recipe show participate in major contamination transfer.
Oh my Joyce what your comment said I wouldn't touch or eat that.
I think Amy that the prep should be done before you tape ! Sorry hon just saying ! The chopping gets boring ! Love u
Love to make this looks delious
Caraway seeds? Gross
You always put too many different flavors.
Too much paprika my goodness..
*PEOPLE WILL BE BETTER OFF BUYING HAMBURGER HELPER THAN MAKING THIS MESS, OMG.* WATERING DOWN SPAGHETTI SAUCE WITH BEEF BROTH, YUK, OMG ALL THAT PROCESSED SALT
Amy Roloff?! Thats like a slap to your new husbands face You can't stand your first husband, then why keep his last name? BTW, your fish looks good. I don't like big chunks of onion either.
She doesn't have to take her new husband's name, she's been a Roloff for a very long time & her children are Roloffs. She's Amy Roloff.
It's her marketing/professional name, she says. She's addressed this many times because people won't leave her alone about it. She says she uses Chris's name in her personal life. Most celebrity women keep their famous names because it's how they earn their money. Husband's of celebrity women are perfectly fine with it and they accept their wives business decisions about marketing strategies from the start. People should leave her alone about it. It's their choice not to be tied to cultural traditions and if it doesn't bother them it shouldn't bother anyone else.
@@lisanevins3605 I know she doesn't have to take her new husband's name. I just think if she's always complaining about her ex and doesn't care much for his girlfriend then why.use Roloff? Her kid's are all grown up. I know I'm ready to change my last name back to my maiden name and my child is in the Navy and married. I feel I don't have to keep my ex husband's last name anymore. If she's going to keep Roloff, she should stop complaining about her ex. That's my opinion and entitled to speak my mind.
@@RoMaMa923 my opinion is that you should take a hike. If you don't approve of Amy then don't watch. It a cooking show not a place where it's OK to tell her what you think of her as a person & her choices. Her choices. She could so she did.
@@lisanevins3605 I don't watch the Roloff show and I enjoy watching cooking shows. I'm entitled to my opinion. Isn't this America where we are protected by the Amendments? Why be in a show and talk trash about her ex and his girlfriend? So ✌️&👋. I'll keep on saying whatever my big heart desires. Why put things on social media when the whole world is going to say negative and positive things? If people cannot handle it, don't post anything and keep scrolling. I can be a real B if I wanted to but I'll keepn8t PG. People that have crossed my path have regretted it especially when there is Santeria involved that is practiced by close people I know. Now, go take a walk yourself, take a shower light some candles and relax and smile for l8ving another day.
Absolutly Rubish!!!!!
