I've always enjoyed your videos because you were never pushing any one product exclusively. You always talked about various brands and gave options. I just hope that with all these GSF products coming out, that doesn't change.
Been following your channel for a while now, have to say; it’s my favorite one out of all my subs. I’m always learning and spending money! Lol looking forward to trying out that new braid…Phenix really messed up this time 😂
Great video. Subscribed also. I’m going to be going wade fishing for speckled trout in early fall and still can’t decide on a chest wader. I think I may like style with boot attached unless u don’t agree. Thank you.
Boot on waders are great and they will certainly get the job done for ya. I just prefer the stocking foot waders with a good pair of boots as I tend to do alot of hiking when I fish in the mountains.
Excellent, excellent info and video!! I got those Runcls a while back when you talked about them, great for the occasional use for the money!! Looking to get some of that new braisd never have enough line Lee
I'm sold for the line just for the announcement voice. You did great on that one. I wouldn't be surprised if we see you in the boxing ring announcement.
Awesome content! A pair of waders is always a good thing to own. The water may seem shallow until you fall in it or it rises. I came across this exact scenario once while fishing without waders on. We were fishing the Pit River Arm (Lake Shasta) for trout in front of a flood control basin. My tackle box was placed on completely dry gravel. After a while it wasn't so dry anymore as the tackle box started to rattle. I look at my dad/friends and said the water is slowly rising and we need to get out of here. We got to a safe place as the water started moving even faster on our way out. It wasn't deep water but still a close call. No signs say what time the flows are let out. The water fills up in a bowl area before it spills over a huge cement barrier. That holding area can't be seen from the river. You have to walk up on the trail side of it which is higher up in order to see anything. A close call and safety always matters when you are out in the forest. This place was way out in the forest and in black bear territory.
Wow, that’s definitely scary. Ive been in the sierra when Edison has increased water flow on a creek I was fishing but nothing to that level. That’s definitely good to know and I’ll keep it in mind for sure
Nice video! As someone who surf fishes quite often and occasionally hits streams. I recommend people on a budget to invest more so on the shoes as they tend to last longer and are so important to preventing slips/falls. Also just like to add having a knife easily accessible while wading just in case you need to cut the straps off in the event you get swept into the water.
Another great one! Thanks for the info! I’m planning to fish Gregory next weekend. Any tips on where the fish might be and what colors might work up there this time of year? Also, will GSF baits be on Amazon as well?
So far the baits are not going to be available on Amazon but the Sinister Strand will be in the future. This time of year at Gregory I would be the fish will be on the east end of the lake holding in the shallow water. Either the cove on the south east or the cove on the north east corners of the lake. Yellows and oranges seem to be good colors there 🤘
I use mine mainly for duck hunting. I used to buy cabelas stockingfoot neoprene camo waders. Discontinued now. I bought Bassdash stockingfoot camo breathable this year for about 100 bucks. They survived one season so far. Since the average temperatures was about 60° during my hunts this year they were more comfortable. I was going to buy the simms camo stockingfoot like you have but they kept raising the price . Love the boot comfort of my simms boa system but worry about it breaking?
Appreciate the intel on the waders, just getting into this part of fishing, now being retired. Hey on a side note, the Sinister braided line, what is your set up for mini jigging, lb test? are you going say from a 6lb, then a double uni knot to a 4lb? Always appreciate your advice!!
Congrats on the retirement! For mini jigs and dropshot I use 4lb Sinister and use a 5lb leader of RUNCL Power Fluoro. I recently used the 6lb Sinster and it worked well throwing light baits. I only lost about 1 foot of casting distance. I still prefer the 4lb but 6 is an option if you want the extra strength
Any of the stocking foot waders and a decent pair of boots and you’ll be in good shape. You can do it with the boot foot as long as you’re boots fit well enough to kick for a while with those fins
Hey Rob, I was wondering if u would ever consider doing a fishing with fans episode. I know I would want to fish with u, I'm sure a bunch of other fans would want to fish with u too
Ive had it suggested a few times but logistically it would be tough. What im planning on doing is posting more on instagram where and when im gonna be at a lake and if you wanna come by head on over 🤘
They are fine if your just gonna use them for short periods of time but if your gonna be in them all day you may want to get a better pair. Ive used mine at SARL and they worked great but I wasn’t in them for more than a couple hours at a time
I've watched countless videos of yours, and I have come to realize that now I have relaxed that itch of WHAT CHARACTER this person REMINDS me of 🧐...... ....... "Many videos later............. Oh, S N A P ! ! !, Jeff DUNHAM- WALTER🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😅 I've learned so much from you. 😊
The 8fans are definitely great waders for the price. Ive been really enjoying the TruDave “stocking foot breathable waders” lately. Same price range as the 8fans and really nice quality. Ive worn them exclusively in the last 3 videos
truck chasers are about as smart as the fish they chase....all marketing gimmicks. Braid for trout is about as ridiculous as the amount of garage "pro staff" bait companies all sharing the same over seas molds
sorry it bothers you brother, its just the way I talk haha im trying to correct it but its gonna be a long process. I will say I appreciate you taking the time to count all those 🙏

I just fish with what works for me. I wont push any products that I wont use myself 🤘
Great timing on this video. I've been looking to buy some waders for surf fishing here in socal.
The boot fit might be better for the surf as the rock guards cant keep all that fine sand out if my boots
@@SeaSpankerOutdoors Thanks brother.

Nice chatting with you Rob on the 1st day of the Bart Hall show recently. Appreciate the wader boot tip (Korkers)! -Bill
Right on, thanks for stopping by the booth. Those Korkers are awesome

Thanks Lee. I really love that Sinister Braid. Its actually softer than the Phenix Iron Feather. Hoping to get more time with it Friday and Saturday
@@SeaSpankerOutdoors it is hard to get some fishing in with the rain!
Great video Rob especially since im in the market for waders & boots before the trout season in the Sierra's.
Very cool. Waders are a huge advantage up in the sierras 🤘
Great video and nice heads up on the importance of wader belts.
Glad it was helpful!

@@SeaSpankerOutdoors thanks sir. I'm in Australia, mostly for trout fishing in streams and a bit of walking
just starting to get into fly fishing and am starting to realize that the barriers to entry seem a lot higher than other styles of fishing.
Yeah fly fishing can definitely get spendy but there is decent gear out there that is affordable
I’ve heard waders are no good for kayaking, would you recommend waders or something like the kokatat pants for kayaking?
You can do it in n waders but the wading pants are way better. The kokatat are really nice and work great on the kayak
That’s a lot of waders
Thought you were going to bust out an astronaut suit after the G3’s 🤣
Nice video 👍
Hahaha well if you can catch more fish with one…maybe
I'm a woman looking for waders right now so I appreciate you mentioning your wife!
Right on! Always awesome to hear more ladies gettin out there 🤘
Bass Pro has woman waders called “She Wear”. My wife using them and loves them for hunting.
Right on, thanks for the tip
Couldn’t make out where the camouflage waders started or ended with this guy.
It’s only “breathable” if its able to breathe. Don’t matter how expensive it is. I’ve got 1000$ waders and I sweat like a mofo in the water
Damn that sux 😬
