TRY THIS UNCONVENTIONAL SLOW JIGGING RIG - it really works!
Here is an oddball - a very unconventional slow jigging rig that works! This rig actually works well when you keep missing the fish - times when they peck at the jig a lot but you can't seem to hook them. I have tried this a few times and although I am too lazy to rig them like this most times, it did save a few trips for me. While this slow jig rigging method is quite unconventional, you have to think about how it would affect your hook up ratio if the hooks were in place the whole time. This is what lead me to this rig - if the hooks are always in the place where the fish bite, then they would get hooked up a lot more - and they do.
There are also disadvantages to this set up of course - the biggest that I have seen so far is the fact that I have to replace an o ring each time I get a bite - that o ring pretty much gets busted each strike. But, it does get the fish, especially when the fishing is tough.

Great idea, shall do just that, thankyou, also the nitrile rings can be used on your rods to hold them together when they are broken down for transport ( they stay on the rod too so you don’t misplace them) and putting one on the egg beater reel pillar is a handy point to hook the lure/ jig when you are moving about. Nitrile lasts longer than rubber too.
