Steam in the Winter

- Steam in the Winter treats you to winter steam railroading on three railroads! Enjoy stunning mountain scenery in the mountains of Utah on the Heber Valley Railroad, winter on the high desert on the fantastically preserved Nevada Northern Railroad, and heavy, mainline railroading on the Ohio Central System.
These re-created freight trains evoke memories of regular service steam long ago. If you like steam railroading, you'll love the great steam action in this program!
Features:
Enjoy 4-8-4 #6325 as she storms along the Ohio Central mainline.
Thrill to the mountain vistas and 2-8-0 #618 on the Heber Valley.
Step back in time as 2-8-0 #93 re-creates a mine run on the Nevada Northern.
Chapters:

2:40 Heber Valley Railroad (Union Pacific #618
33:31 Nevada Northern #93
1:06:30 Ohio Central #6325
The best steam season collection of all time.
1:22:12 my favorite part in this video
I also fell asleep during this program lol
Really hoping 618 can return sometime soon! I understand it is very hard work and effort though.
And I honestly think, IMO she looks nicer with the headlight up high. *As I believe it was 618’s original appearance before the 1920’s when it was 1068.
She actually kept the High Headlight on the UP, up until around the Mid 1940s!
Nice video!
Very nice Train video
6325's GTW 6-Chime is unlike anything I've ever heard. Sure, I've seen Steam in the Spring, so I am highly aware of her heavenly 6-Chime, but in this spectacular display of Steam Locomotion, her GTW 6-Chime is authentic, seductive, and legendary. Hearing her chime echoing throughout the movie is like music to my ears. It's sad her 6-Chime was removed and switched with something else. A steam locomotive should always keep its original whistle as the whistle is one of the things that makes a steam locomotive attractive to railfanners.
Edit 0: Changed T1 Chime to GTW 6-Chime/6-Chime. A certain Reading T1 lives rent free in my head, so that's where the confusion came from.
6325 has never worn a Reading whistle. She's sporting her original Grand Trunk 6 chime that she's had all her life and still wears it today as she sits in the Age of Steam Roundhouse. She did however wear a whistle off of a PENNSYLVANIA T-1, which is what you're probably thinking of, for some occasions in 2003 and 2004.
@@northwestorient8735Sorry I missed your comment. Idk how, but knowing me, it's a wonder my head's still on my shoulders. When I get some time, I'll correct my comment.
I like Nevada northern #93
Union Pacific 618: A very cool snowy winter freight run with a former Union Pacific 2-8-0, hopefully soon the engine will be back in service.
Nevada Northern 93: A cool little 2-8-0 in service at the Nevada Northern Railway Museum in Ely, Nevada with a freight charter in the snow.
Grand Trunk Western 6325: A grand run with a former GTW locomotive in the state of Ohio during the snowy winter time, hauling a heavy freight charter of the old formerly used PRR line.
Yes, all nice engines. Enjoyable to shoot.
@@RailwayProductions That’s Right. You can go check out three other comments, from the three previous Steam in the Season films, Spring, Summer, and Autumn.
Awesome video 🚂👍❄
Heber Valley UP #618 Adam.
1959 was the year sleeping beauty came out.
Just love steam and snow! The blast of the steam is just huge! And beautiful! Thanks!
Good ol heber valley
1:15:09 GTW #6325 sounds so beautiful!
Looks like Christmas 🎄
618 and 75 are hvrr's babies
Starring Heber Valley (UP) #618
Nevada Northern #40 and #93.
and GTW #6325 from Ohio Central
@@andrewdiesel487 are you exited for the film,
@@maxwellwalcher6420 I’m so excited for this
Imo, 618 looks better with a centered headlight over a high one. And i sure can’t wait for her return to Steam, whenever that’ll be as she latest rebuild has been going very slow. Not to mention they’re also converting it to oil while rebuilding 51.
They don't have a 51? If you are talking about 75, it's not being worked on as of now, 618 is the main priority
@@RocketStephen618 crap, must've got the number wrong/mixed up, but yeah that's what I meant.
but I think 6325 will be in the winter but she was in the spring and in the autumn because she was absent from the summer
1293 was in Summer...
Steam In The Autumn was the only film with 1293 and 6325.
@@ianmasinda1996 yeah but you are right!! 👍
Wouldn't it of made more sense to upload this first instead of last? I say this because it has a copyright of 2004 while the rest are 2005 (which probably explains that Winter was the only one I found on VHS through archives of your site).
The other three were ready to go but this one needed work. And yes, this was our last VHS release.
@@RailwayProductions what work was needed on this one?
and aww, thats just another series which never got completed on vhs ;(
34:32 it was actually built by Baldwin locomotive works not by american locomotive company
Even the professionals screw up. I’m not going to question it.
Yeah, I don't know how I missed that one
So 618 is in the video where is Heber Valley 75
YOOOOOOOOO
The future of the old PRR mainline featured in the third and final feature in the film is in doubt because the Conesville power plant shut down. What year did the Ohio Central photo freight take place?
1959 is Walt Disney’s Sleeping Beauty.
What was this music at our first stop?
Where's the thumbnail from? I've never seen that picture before!
Me either
It’s likely from the western winter steam dvd released in 2010.
@@atsfevan0242 oh ok
@@atsfevan0242 No, chances are it's not. It wouldn't be such a clear image, and if it was it would be the pictures from the DVD Box, which I highly doubt
1.) Is it just me, or does 618 look way better with a centered headlight?
2.) Didn’t 93 go to the Heber Valley Railroad in 2002?
3.) Someone correct me if I’m wrong. But didn’t 6325 have constant problems with its bearings?
What's that weird hissing noise NN 93 is making while pulling out the shed?
air compressor
@@damiancameron3614Sorry for being late, but thank you.
Not sure if I’ve asked before or not but what is the name of the piece that plays at 2:42?
It’s just Apple Loops from the Garage Band program.
What’s the name of this instrument? 2:41
That’s just piano. The question is: what is the name of the piece?
I found the song in the intro. It's called Solitude from Michael Hughes.

What happened to steam in the autumn
fr it just disappeared
I can’t believe they tore up the section to Vivian park last year
Wow! I was not aware they did that. That is a shame.
@@RailwayProductions news coverage of it was minimal, I believe it was due to flood damage
My bad. They aren’t abandoning it, they just had to temporarily remove a lot of track to replace the ballast. I hope my sources were correct this time
Well that is much better news. Thanks for sharing.@@benmoore2253
