Serious allegations I mean, for those other ones, they already got a whole joint task force, so they need to do their job. I had no idea Drake emotionally froze himself as a teenager and just called it quits roughly. Oof. All that money at his age I'd figure he'd wanna get things at least manageable for his mental well-being. Why on Earth is dude rapping about stuff like self-respect while doing some random ish like sleeping with that girl Wayne was with? This was the most unbiased analysis i've come across. I'm a fan of both and i've expressed my disapproval of contradictions on both sides, but it has mostly been met with absolute fanaticism. John‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬-‭18‬ ‭ESV-
““For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.” (lots of people heard this one but hear it as truth).

      Romans 10:9 ESV
“Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
      Ephesians 2:8-9 ESV
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
      also check out Romans 8

One thing I've always respected about Kendrick is his introspection. He knows he has his own internal battles to fight. I think what hurts Drake is that he doesn't have that introspection. It's all about this outward appearance which led him to do some really dark things. Music aside, what I hoped would come out of this battle is that Drake would take the mask off and take accountability. Though it doesnt seem like that will happen.

@@tonebrink6645 he was wearing that crown of thorns as an illustration of the theme of his album - he's not anyone's savior, he's not a selfless flawless figure, and he never agreed with people putting him on this pedestal. he's not anyone's "Jesus" so to say. his artistry has the intention of making people think and reflect but he's not responsible for offering solutions and his artistry is also his source of earning money, just like every successful artist. the crown was not a meaningless flex, it had an idea and concept behind it.
why would he take accountability for something that never happened? there was not a single piece of evidence of that except someone's baseless claim that you can't even find a source for anymore. Drake, however, has weird behavior patterns around minors/barely legal girls that have been documented for years. and I don't know why somebody would still claim it's not weird. it is and always has been. @kmccarter4481 they both made two very distinctly different types of messes. Very.... VERY different... and it matters. Namely, the only thing Kendrick mentioned that's at all in question is whether or not Drake has a daughter. So he didn't disparage Drake's image so much as he summarized it. Angrily, violently, but sincerely.
Drake... was getting into a very icky gross for the sake of fame and money territory as his career grew over the years. He handled artists dishonestly, stealing styles and tracks from young or green artists brazenly, becoming more of a bully, glorofying a life he never lived to exploit the people who actually have the truama of that upbringing... denying his children, making friends with teenage girls OPENLY, pursuing the wives, gielfriends and daughters of the successful men around him to build himself up... OPENLY.
I know neither of these men to hold either accountable morally. However, Drake is in the territory of criminal charges, and not the street kind.
So... no, I won't indulge this notion that there was good and bad on both sides. People who know Kendrick speak so highly of his artistic authenticity and his character. People who know Drake and worked with him are either paid, silent, or openly dragging him.
And if his career has been coupled with promoting SA and/or the grooming minors, then I say Kendrick did society a favor summarizing what so many already knew about Drake.
It reminds me of the "Surviving R. Kelly" docuseries.... we all knew for years what that man was doing, but when forced to witness the collective horror of it all, the entire country finally had to face it for what it was. Sometimes we need these public reads to stand up for vulnerable populations and unheard survivors.

"I don't want you anywhere near that demon" is what my mom used to say 😂... Well I'm thankful for it now because it saved my ass from a whole lot of pain and suffering. Excellent take Crae, as a follower of Jesus Christ (first and foremost), a Hip Hop lover, and a huge fan of Kendrick and Drake you articulated many things I’ve been feeling and really opened up my mind to some things I’ve been sleeping on.
I’d love to know your thoughts on K Dot’s second diss track 6:16 in LA, when Kendrick says “God, my confession is yours, but who I am I if I don’t go to war? There’s opportunity when living with loss, I discover myself when I fall short”. Those bars tell me Kendrick understands the carnal, fleshy, dark and prideful nature of this conflict and the spiritual peace it would rob him of but felt a sense of responsibility and pressure (mainly from himself) to go through with it anyway, almost as if he felt the outcome would be worth the spiritual sacrifice. That outcome was not only him being heralded as the best but denting the image and reputation of somebody who he clearly considered to reperesent true darkness, infiltration and the devilish sides of the music industry (that’s not a condemnation of Drake but just how I think Kendrick views him) no doubt there was a lot of internal tension and conflict with Kendrick as I know he does value his relationship with God as you touched on.
Love from North London, 🇬🇧 met you briefly a few years ago when you were in London with your kids 👊🏿. Respect my brother in Christ 🙏🏿

Kendrick won with different rap styles, different styles of beats, all of his cover art had meanings, his titles had various meanings, dissed drake and his fraudulent character (validly), called him out for his weird interactions with kids, dissed his family, the OV-HO crew, brought in more numbers, and prophetically warned drake before all of this💀

Then KL warned Drake that he knew where things could go, and he's willing to take it _there._ Not many has heard a prayer, before a lyrical killing. Not the norm.

I think the reason why Kendrick makes and has made the statement of being the best is pretty simple: Hip-hop became fairly stagnant, and bars became not as important as it once did before 2002. Hip-hop became a "vibe," easily digestible and without thought.
What Kendrick wanted to bring back is what made the 80s and 90s the Golden Eras of Hip-hop: Not only amazingly entertaining with catchy hooks, some of the best production, but also the greatest bars at that time. Competitive. It was really exciting.
All Kendrick has been trying to do since "Control" is to shake the proverbial tree and have rappers care about the art, competition, musicianship of hiphop, and not just the money, etc part of it.

I also think there’s a commentary about appropriation and stereotyping of (usually negative) black and “urban” culture. People like Drake use this black and urban culture in order to prop up this fake image of themselves that ends up reflecting poorly on black and urban (usually non-token brown minorities) people.
It’s like neo-minstrel entertainment that does nothing more but box black people into crap stereotypes and focused on superficial measurements of success (money, women, likes on social media, material things, drugs).

The way I see it, it was about values, Kendrick was questioning that and made it a point to drag him to the deep end and using his narcicism against him. When you live in the world that Kendrick has built himself in the way he has, you see all of Drakes faults. I have to admit. I've always liked Kendrick because he reminds me of people I have high respect for. Drake has always been fake and playing a part.

As a big Kendrick fan, I’ve been having a hard time seeing this in the same light tbh.
I think Kendrick’s strongest angle was to talk about Drake’s moral failings as a person, lack of maturity in his music or how his still promoting a sinful lifestyle.
But I feel like that angle was pretty severely overshadowed by going after Drake for “tea” type allegations and not really backing them up, while also acting in some… less than moral ways.
Plus, for all we know publicly, Drake actually seems like a pretty good father with a great relationship with his kid and baby mom.
I feel like I never looked to Drake to be a morally righteous person, he’s never presented himself as that in a major way, and looking into him because of this beef has me believing he might actually be a better person than I thought.
On the flip side, Kendrick’s own morality was brought into question just a bit…
That’s ignoring a lot of other aspects of this battle, but yeah, I’m having a hard time seeing this as a big moral win for Kendrick…

Lecrae Is Lying, Because He's Apart of The Lies.
The rap battle is nothing more than a distraction used to distract so-called black people away from the absolute truth of the matter.
For the rap battle is nothing more than a sum of orchestrated events used to keep us docile, entertained, and dumbed down from the absolute truth of the matter.
For while you were sleeping playing video games, being entertained with the drama of the WNBA, the NBA playoffs, P-DIDDY, the prosperity of fools, and rap battles, there's a war in Israel and Ukrain.
For while you're being preoccupied with mind control distractions of subtle seductions and manipulation, white on white crime is happening on such a grand scale, that they cannot even speak on black on black crime right now, but they can use black people as a distraction from the whole truth of the matter.
For while all these distractions are happening to black people on such a grand scale, there are two wars taking place in Israel and Ukraine, and the are fighting over your identity, your land, who's next to have dominion over you, and to keep your true IDENTITY hidden from yourself, and from the world.
‭‭(Revelation‬ ‭2:9‬) JESUS SAYS, “I know your works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but you are rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.”

‭‭(Revelation‬ ‭13‬:‭10‬) "He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.”
‭‭(Joel‬ ‭3:1-8‬) “For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land. I think he's down to do a Collab with Kendrick or even go track for track . But on a more competitive standpoint and not spilling tea .I'm very interested in his perspective of all this . Keep doing more vids 🔥

Thanks Crae for placing the spotlight on how the battle over the human soul has been won at the cross of Calvary.
Materialistic synergism or mystical monasticism will not bring peace.
Only the Prince of Peace who paid for our affections with the price of His blood can captivate a human soul.
I did hope to listen to your commentary with some War talk but Love has established itself in this reality and His name is Jesus Christ. All authority in Heaven and on earth has been given to Him.
Our worth is derived from who He is and how we strive to be more like Him.

Kendrick got one thing VERY RIGHT: F*ck a rap battle, this a long life battle with yourself.
Drake has never felt accepted, respected, worthy. Instead of working on himself, he distracted himself with fame and money. It’s one of the reasons he goes for girls that were with people he feels like he’s competing with and that may be seen as better than him.
I’m mixed. My kids are mixed. Most of my friends were mixed growing up. I definitely understand his struggles with that. I think it’s in 0 to 100 where he says that he got ready for his dad and his dad didn’t show up and I know that too. My mom never said a bad thing about my father. When he flaked she would tell me he loved me and he wanted to come but he must’ve been busy or had an emergency. At 7, I told her to stop lying for him bc if he wanted to show up, he would.
Those are things you have to work through and overcome. Til then he’ll always be the way he is

@DragonflyB-tn7pq How I see it; and this is only my opinion...Drake has a lot of feminine energy in him...I truly feel like he is jealous of Kendrick...You have Drake brought up in an upper middle class household, going to great schools, no worries about safety in his community, and no worries about food or clothing....But he is a mixed race child with little representation of his other side and an absent father figure...Then you have Kendrick...Brought in the inner city, seeing everything (drugs, gangs, violence); that the lower part of the inner city brings with it...But he has his father, mother, uncles, aunts, cousins and the community...So much representation to be a part of...But they struggle because they have a lack of finance...Drake looks at Kendrick and feels that all those things should have been his...How could someone that had less then him; have more than him....Drake see's J. Coles another mixed child, as more of an equal...I would love to know what Drake said about Kendrick in that interview that was never aired about 10 years ago...Because the guy that was there as part of the interview said, they couldn't believe how Drake was talking about him...And they didn't have rights to the taping, so they had no receipts to back up what they heard...But I'm positive that Kendrick could feel the dislike and envy when he work with Drake...

Thank You Lacrae for spelling out what is really going on with the beef between these 2 men! Just knowing about this feud out here on the periphery, hearing about it so much on social media, I was curious about where it began & what has taken place thus far. I found you in doing this research & I'm so glad I did!! So far I have gleaned precisely what you have described here...in so far as this is about 2 men from 2 very different worlds battling in the same arena - at least from the outside! As I delve into the lyrics, it appears to me that even beyond their inherent differences, Kendrick Lamar knows something or learned some things about Drake. And the more Kendrick learned - made him not just dislike Drake but have zero respect for him as a human being! I don't know - I'm still not up to date probably! But this is definitely a microcosm of as you say, the human condition. People feeling like in order for them to come up, they have to push someone else down. That is true for many different arenas in life - especially where career & money are concerned & in particular in the entertainment industry & the rap game for sure!! Pride, Arrogance & most definitely EGO...will definitely take us down! I really enjoyed listening to what you had to share! Your even keeled approach, the humble way you have about you is so refreshing to hear in our ego driven, crazy world!! Be Well!

The message of building your sense of self on something which is actually perfect and has true love for you is needed now more than ever. To know is to yearn, strive and seek. I think Kendrick was right to set himself apart from Drake if those things he accused him of are true. If he knows things about this man that go against his own moral code, and could in the future be brought to light, then no… there ain’t no “big 3”, “it’s just me”.

    • @BlakeZeb
      @BlakeZeb 2 месяца назад

      That’s a big if though.
And what if he doesn’t know something we don’t? What if it’s just the same internet speculation that’s existed about Drake for years?
Then it’s kind of slimy and hypocritical to do, especially when he’s cool working with people with actual convictions for heinous shit.
And if he knows more… he hasn’t done a very good job of leading us to that.
Idk, I for one can’t agree with this angle that Kendrick was being a morally upstanding person unless something big changed.

I would compare rap battles as a boxing match . Muhammad Ali said he was the best all the time that doesnt mean he wasn't spiritual. George foreman became a paster after boxing and still got the in ring years later .Hip hop is a sport . More than any genre of music . Its always been competitive. It is necessary that rap battles continue .

J Cole bowing out is wise and respectable because an artist from TDE called him and told him what was about to happen, and said Cole probably didn't want to be associated with that. Given what has come out, that was 100% the right move.

They not like us was placing Ovo outside of the community and he named several reasons why Drake is the outsider

Euphoria was great, 6:16 was up there too.

Kinda feels like Kendrick’s aura carried him more than the actual tracks we got.

I think for Kendrick, since he knows himself, it’s more performative. He’s playing his role. If Drake can grow to be more introspective and reflective he will break every record- but in order for that to happen the dragon(his ego) must be slain. Kendrick can’t do that for him, but he gave him the road map.
