If we could get everyone to comprehend this fact, no man would fear another, as every man would reverently fear God, and fear Him only. He loves us and doesn't want to punish us but "He chastises those He loves..." As my earthly father said, "This is going to hurt me, more than it hurts you." As humans, we aren't perfect. That's not what this is about... Sin by definition in Hebrew means to "miss the mark" or the bullseye of a dartboard. We will fall short and God is ready to forgives us. He is patient. It is those that are in direct opposition to God that He is most frustrated with, these people know who they are. So long as we are living, God can use us to expand His kingdom. Those that are counter productive to that becoming a reality, are those that should be the most concerned with the Final Destination of their soul.
It’s about not enjoying the things of this world. When you hear people throw insults, or you accidentally curse or judge others. Is that something you enjoy? NO? Then pray for forgiveness and have faith. You’ll be forgiven. For Jesus knows your heart. If you did enjoy it still, and you knew the word, that’s lukewarm. I’m not lukewarm, but only because I know what’s wrong and I don’t enjoy it anymore, whether I accidentally out of habit do it or it happens to me. I’m confident in Jesus and his love for me, and I love him so much, that I’m willing to obey him. That’s faith.

I recently went through a deconstruction myself, I was mad at God and wanted nothing to do with Jesus. But as much as I wanted to run away, He kept calling me back to Himself. Your vulnerability and authenticity has been so encouraging. Jesus has never abandoned me and His grace is sufficient, I never truly knew what that meant(only in theory) until now. I thought Jesus only loved me when I was walking "perfectly" and not sinning, which led to pride and self righteousness and eventually me burning out. He has humbled me, restored me, and has made me proud of who he has created me to be. So I just wanted to say thankyou Lecrae for allowing Jesus to use you.

This was a message our community clearly needed to hear. It amazed me to see all of these young men of God-coming together-and spreading such a powerful message. Then I came across "Church Clothes," and I knew you weren't the cookie cutter Christian. I followed your career, and the more I learned about your life-the more I could see how genuine you are. Keep growing and continue to come into the man you were called to be. Our community is in a very dark place. God may have sent you to be the light, tailored to their needs. I found Christ around the time Rebel came out and followed your journey. My walk with Christ has been filled with highs and lows , deliverance and some very painful growth. Lots of failure. I don’t boast in my goodness because apart from Christ, I have none. I also felt myself drifting away through discouragement and also relate to the racial trauma you experienced. I read both of your books and found so much encouragement hearing you share your testimony. Hearing your experience has been very comforting to me in my own faith journey. As a white female who works a run of the mill job I cannot relate to everything you said but am so grateful to hear your experience and the impact people have had on your in your life so that I can continue to better understand what those of you in Black/African American communities are going through. There is also so much of your faith journey that I can deeply empathize with and relate to. I was looking to be loved and went looking in the church. I went to a seminary college. I can relate when you say you were trying to find yourself but it wasn't authentic. There was so many times I found myself shouting "yes!" During this. I also cannot imagine going through those parts of my life publicly in front of millions of people. Your strength in Christ shows. I'm very thankful for your faith and you sharing your story. A sermon and a small group can only go so far… but music came with me everywhere. I listened to you on my way to class, at night, at the gym, in the car, in places where we were surrounded by sin! I admit that I started to question you and even think for a minute that you had started to back slide from the faith. Ive been called lukewarm and told, "God will spew you out of His mouth!". This was from a church secretary because i sang a song i wrote in church at a funeral for my brother's best friend that died in a motorcycle accident. I said "Damn" and "hell" in church. Should I have used that language? Looking back, nah. Should that church secretary have said that to me at the funeral? Nah. There's a time and a place and that wasn't it. That could have been a great opportunity for the gospel to be presented (which it was during the funeral), but that was a great opportunity to put a bad taste of "Christian" in the mouths of all the unbelievers that were at the funeral. Lecrae may have stumbled a few times but so have we. no one is perfect and can walk a perfect Christian walk. while the bible says iron sharpens iron, we should hold each other accountable. not condemn or judge because only Jesus Christ, the one true God, can judge. If you made mistakes in your life and people kept bringing them back, constantly rehashing your mistakes, would you ever be able to move on. Lecrae is not perfect. He is far from it, but so are we. Honestly I’ve had a reawakening in my own life. I listened to a lot of Leonard ravenhill sermons recently which I strongly encourage you listen to. He also has this book why revival tarries that truly convicted me. Christianity today as a whole has been to comfortable and focused on getting people to come to their church instead of preaching the whole, uncompromising gospel. Being lukewarm means to me is God not being the reason you live not just the reason you are alive.

I feel this. Like you start more conversations in a shirt with your favorite team on it than one with a cross on it. You connect with people where they are and then tell them what the Lord did for you, not like a salesperson but more like a satisfied customer. I recently went through a deconstruction myself, I was mad at God and wanted nothing to do with Jesus. But as much as I wanted to run away, He kept calling me back to Himself. Your vulnerability and authenticity has been so encouraging. Jesus has never abandoned me and His grace is sufficient, I never truly knew what that meant(only in theory) until now. I thought Jesus only loved me when I was walking "perfectly" and not sinning, which led to pride and self righteousness and eventually me burning out. He has humbled me, restored me, and has made me proud of who he has created me to be. So I just wanted to say thankyou Lecrae for allowing Jesus to use you.

I followed your career, and the more I learned about your life-the more I could see how genuine you are. Keep growing and continue to come into the man you were called to be. I found Christ around the time Rebel came out and followed your journey. My walk with Christ has been filled with highs and lows , deliverance and some very painful growth. Lots of failure. I don’t boast in my goodness because apart from Christ, I have none. I also felt myself drifting away through discouragement and also relate to the racial trauma you experienced. I read both of your books and found so much encouragement hearing you share your testimony. It is beautiful to see that despite how many times we get back in, the Holy Spirit will complete His work in you. I can tell you that I see the freedom in you and your transformation. As a white female who works a run of the mill job I cannot relate to everything you said but am so grateful to hear your experience and the impact people have had on your in your life so that I can continue to better understand what those of you in Black/African American communities are going through. There is also so much of your faith journey that I can deeply empathize with and relate to. I was looking to be loved and went looking in the church. I went to a seminary college. I can relate when you say you were trying to find yourself but it wasn't authentic. There was so many times I found myself shouting "yes!" During this. Ive been called lukewarm and told, "God will spew you out of His mouth!". This was from a church secretary because i sang a song i wrote in church at a funeral for my brother's best friend that died in a motorcycle accident.
I said "Damn" and "hell" in church.
Should I have used that language?
Looking back, nah.
Should that church secretary have said that to me at the funeral?
Nah.
There's a time and a place and that wasn't it.
That could have been a great opportunity for the gospel to be presented (which it was during the funeral), but that was a great opportunity to put a bad taste of "Christian" in the mouths of all the unbelievers that were at the funeral.

Lecrae may have stumbled a few times but so have we. no one is perfect and can walk a perfect Christian walk. while the bible says iron sharpens iron, we should hold each other accountable. not condemn or judge because only Jesus Christ, the one true God, can judge. If you made mistakes in your life and people kept bringing them back, constantly rehashing your mistakes, would you ever be able to move on. Lecrae is not perfect. He is far from it, but so are we. I am not even close to being perfect, you are not even close to being perfect. Even Martin Luther King is not even close to perfect. Before we try and throw stones, lets just examine ourselves first. I'm not saying to let sinful stuff slide and to ignore that. We can lift each other up, sharpen each other and pray each other. If we are making an effort to grow closer to God, and not just being fine where we are, that great. Because if we stumble, that is not who we are. We have redemption in Christ and He forgives all sin. Don't forget that nobody is perfect. Lecrae is just a man. A man that struggles just like we do, he is tempted like we are and faces daily challenges. His social status only makes those challenges even harder. The fact that he still makes music that glorifies God and continually makes an effort to grow closer to Him should show us that he is anything but lukewarm. Honestly I’ve had a reawakening in my own life. I listened to a lot of Leonard ravenhill sermons recently which I strongly encourage you listen to. He also has this book why revival tarries that truly convicted me. Christianity today as a whole has been to comfortable and focused on getting people to come to their church instead of preaching the whole, uncompromising gospel. Being lukewarm means to me is God not being the reason you live not just the reason you are alive.

I feel this. Like you start more conversations in a shirt with your favorite team on it than one with a cross on it. You connect with people where they are and then tell them what the Lord did for you, not like a salesperson but more like a satisfied customer. People are more likely to listen to that than a preacher. They don't always love sermons, but they love stories of people they can see and touch.
