@hockeycardsincanada absolutely careless, whoever owns these cards learned a 2m lesson. When know dudes a criminal, but it's the vendors fault 100% for giving full access to his items.
@toddpick8007 You're not alone in thinking this is an insurance scam. For now I'm giving the vendor the benefit of the doubt, but leaving stuff unattended and just sitting under a table is crazy! 😮🤑
@strawhatdabber I don't follow the prices of baseball cards very closely, but I know baseball in general has been dropping in popularity. Sounds like the vendor is a good guy in the hobby. Made a HUGE mistake, but I hope he's able to recoup a large portion of what he lost.
@rogerfederer3817 I hear the vendor is a real solid guy, so I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt. I'm kinda surprised that nobody has been charged yet considering there's a lot of video of these guys. So I'm eagerly awaiting the next updates to this story!
@PaulThompsonGB I definitely question whether videos like this are fake. There are tons of em out there. However, this one appears to be legit... just a careless owner... the police and apparently also the FBI are involved in this case, so I'm doubtful that this isn't legit. Many viewers think this is an insurance scam. Eventually, someone's gonna get charged with a crime, so we shall see who is truly involved! Thanks for watching! 😀🙏
@badseed4492 I guess only time will tell. But I hear the owner is a good dude with a solid reputation. But I'm seeing lots of people suspect there's something fishy going on here. 🤐🤔💀Thanks for sharing your thoughts!👍

@chrisf4948 Yes I'm 100% curious to know how the FBI is treating this case. I'm assuming they'll catch these guys, but I guess this type of stuff can take longer than we think. 🤔🕵
It’s clearly an insurance scam , know one has anything worth that much without a security guard or without it being extremely secure . Also nobody would bring 2 million dollars worth of anything to a show that didn’t provide armed security as standard security. I’m sure he’s already in the process of filing the scam with the insurance company
@bored2323 Great points! But I'm giving the vendor the benefit of the doubt (for now)... I feel like this is more a story of careless operations and maybe just being super cheap on security. From what I hear, the vendor has a solid reputation in the hobby. But I wasn't born yesterday! 😎 and we have no idea what the vendor's personal financial situation is either that might bring him to a place where he'd consider risking his rep. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! 👍🙏😃
@bltvd Fair point for sure! 😃I'm basing my early thoughts on hearing that the vendor has a solid reputation in the hobby - but just based on stuff I've read online. I've never dealt with the guy or heard of him before this story. But more on the basis that if this was an insurance scam, it would've (should've) been executed a lot better. Not on camera, not with a bunch of guys in on the theft who should be easily identified. Too many people to pay off. A $2M scam "should" be done with a lot less loose ends. Way too many clues left for these clowns not to get caught eventually. 🤡 But I'm absolutely open to being wrong!😃👍AND maybe this is just a dumb desperate vendor who must be bad financial spot! Thanks! I appreciate the thoughtful comment! 😎💪
@supportmytroups7 The cards in the cases might be cracked open and being sold as ungraded versions. Still tough to sell without drawing a lot of heat. I'm still surprised nobody has recognized any of these guys!
@abackimages5351 I'm very curious to see/hear/understand what goes on with an insurance claim in a story like this! Insurance never likes paying out when it's 100% legit without any issues, so very interested to know how this gets looked at! 🤔🕵
@gwillakerz This happened at the end of the show, but I get your point. 👍I saw an interview online and the Allen Police say they're planning to add more police presence at the end of shows. But ultimately it's gotta still be in the hands of the owners of the cards to keep them safe and protected. 💀🕵💰🙏
anything that is graded i think is serial numbered ? so they would have to crack the full plastic case in order to have it resell as not stolen - Shit like this is stealing the mona lisa... not everything antique or vintage is one of a kind but a DEALER WILL KNOW when its been in their presence before -they are lovely objects that hang out with ya for a time and you are cool enough to care for them until the next but idiots who STEAL will have a curse AND karma
@alexjohnson3306 I'm super curious to know what the full plan was for these guys. Did they have a deal already worked out with a shady dealer? Have they removed a bunch of the cards from the slabs? Some of this plan seems well orchestrated, but having it all caught on video with their faces pretty recognizable leads me to believe they didn't have some Master Plan in place. Hopefully there's a good ending to this story... and soon!
Clearly, this is insurance fraud. Why would you bring 2 mills to an empty convention? Cards like this sell in specialized venues. The fraud is you steal from yourself, collect the insurance.
@joelvelezjv76 Quite a few people believe this was an insurance scam. I'm very curious to see how this story ends. 🤑 One note: the convention was actually a very large show in Texas. Some of those serial numbers on the graded cards are hard to read... plus someone can just crack those cases easily and then they're untraceable. So yup, easily sold/resold.
