    Its interesting to see how far we have come in caregiving after 10 years. We dont say "demented" anymore lol but its always good to have a starting point and learn around that.

    He is not acting very nice to him. The resident looks confused and scared a bit, you should keep water and soap out of his eyes.

      Yes, the nursing assistant should also have donned gloves and given the resident a wash cloth to cover his eyes & ears before he began to wash his hair.

      Every patient has personal preferences, had one who liked the water flowing over his face, so it is difficult to say whether he was right or wrong. Person centered care is important. As for the soap, he looks like he told him to close his eyes.

      Might I add using gloves may loose the grip of him and may increase fall accidents

    It seem like the worker wasn’t communicating with the resident. It’s not a good idea to wash the hair in the tub like that. Wash the hair separately from the body. As shown the head is wet along with the body. Too much water at one time.
