Of course there is an underlying agenda, but meaningful change in how police engage the public is going to require it. The question is, do you believe police officers should be subject to the equal rights provision of the 14th amendment? I’ve been a Deputy for 21 years. I train new officers(16 years), I always tell them to be careful with what they do or say around these EMT’s and Firefighters...we have different perceptions of situations and reactions and responsibilities to people. Some are on the same page as us, but most aren’t. I also teach them, when you are testifying in a trial always tell the truth, don’t volunteer information, keep your answers short and factual and never guess or speculate in your answers. If you can’t remember facts you can’t remember.
I was fortunate that in my precinct the numerous Fire Departments were our friends and supporters especially because we were responsible for saving their lives several times. But from what I heard from other officers in other precincts, that’s unusual.

I work in EMS and these kind of EMTs get on my nerve... seen it way to many times, the ones that think they’re GI Joe and are obnoxious in their ways. The ones that think they’re gods gift to emergency services.
People forget that EMTs have a grand total of about 120 hours of training. That's it. Paramedics on the other hand have between 1300 and 2000 hours depending on the program they attend and if actual education is required rather than just plain old training.

She did not phone an ambulance or check if one had been sent for because she was too busy filming. I wouldn’t trust her with my life.

The judge even instructed the defence to be more direct with their questioning so that she would not be volunteering information. All the defence had to do was repeat a question and she would give new information.

I DONT condone her actions, but as a human being and fellow FIREFIGHTER 👩🚒 we are very empathetic persons who are willing to die for a stranger to live.. I can understand the frustration. Bottom line, she saw someone murdered 1 foot away and was helpless. As a firefighter I would’ve probably tackled the officer myself and went to jail to save his life. Judges do not tell people how to act in a court room unless it is in violation of decorum or sanctionable...the lawyer does since they prep their witnesses or just having a functioning brain to maybe not mouth off and act correct. I'm 4 years in at my job and I still have to ask people to explain to me what certain things are. Once you get into a real "field" or industry and you're not just working a regular job that any highschool kid can get you start to see just how much there is to know and you understand just how far above you the people at the top really are. The EMT Basic course is generally about 16 weeks in length. The required clinical work may take longer to complete. You should plan on the entire process takig about 6 months. Pays $15/hr

Of course there is an underlying agenda, but meaningful change in how police engage the public is going to require it. The question is, do you believe police officers should be subject to the equal rights provision of the 14th amendment? If a citizen had done this he'd be viciously attacked in the media and certainly convicted. This judge is behaving differently because the accused is a cop.

As an attorney, this is one of the most difficult witnesses to deal with. A witness with an agenda will always volunteer extra information and won't simply answer the question asked.

I’ve been a Deputy for 21 years. I train new officers(16 years), I always tell them to be careful with what they do or say around these EMT’s and Firefighters...we have different perceptions of situations and reactions and responsibilities to people. Some are on the same page as us, but most aren’t. I also teach them, when you are testifying in a trial always tell the truth, don’t volunteer information, keep your answers short and factual and never guess or speculate in your answers. If you can’t remember facts you can’t remember.
I was fortunate that in my precinct the numerous Fire Departments were our friends and supporters especially because we were responsible for saving their lives several times. But from what I heard from other officers in other precincts, that’s unusual.

People forget that EMTs have a grand total of about 120 hours of training. That's it. Paramedics on the other hand have between 1300 and 2000 hours depending on the program they attend and if actual education is required rather than just plain old training.

The evidence is there, but the prosecution isn’t providing much evidence they are just throwing people in who stirr in emotions. I’m not on either side by the way, I want justice for Mr. Floyd, but I want this to be a fair trial.

The judge even instructed the defence to be more direct with their questioning so that she would not be volunteering information.
