Nice installation. But why was it necessary to reduce to 1.5" on the pump intake?

I have pipe that is 2” for some and 1.5” for most.
If I get the 3hp one is that too much? Or will I be ok?

If you have 1.5” pipe at all. Anything above a 1.5hp is useless because only so much water can be pulled/pushed

this pump has been a nightmare for me. I notice you didn't get it to prime up all the way either. Is there something inherently wrong with this pump, or is this normal operation? I've never seen a pump run normally with so much air in it.

I have the same issue. I have so much air in it. I have had it installed by a professional. Let me know if you find out anything.

Any update on air issue? I am about to install one for a friend.

@@Jules-yg7vp Depends some operations especially those with 1.5” plumbing will have an air gap if you don’t have air coming out of your returns in the pool your good. Alternatively if you do have bubbles coming out of your returns you have an air leak.
