Great review. Every statistic you could possibly think of. I am very tempted to buy this car however having to switch on "Lane assist" and "stronger break assist" every time seems crazy. The suspension doesn't sound great either.
I had a smart forfour 0.9l turbo 65" plate before I went onto my Honda E. But those 0-60 claims have awoken the boy racer in me 🤣🤣. No physical buttons is deffo a bit of a deal breaker though, unless we can set it can forget it.
Glad you didn't forget mentioning it was a turbo haha! Yeah unfortunately, some of the controls are a faff, like the drive mode selector or the safety systems that get enabled each time.
Just found your channel, brilliant review and very informative. Very impressed with the real world range that you mentioned. I’m very happy to subscribe😁👍🏻

@@renz2.060 the Xpower is 3.6 & the Brabus 3.7 so both are quicker than the 3.8 & 3.9 advertised. Being 0-60 & not 0-62 is not going to make that much difference. Both faster than an Audi RS3, BMW M2.
You are the only youtuber who has ever complained about the ride quality. Yes, personal impressions are fully and totally subjective. By now I have test driven both the #1 and the #3, and yes, both are comfortable cars, with the #1 being more plush in the suspension and the #3 more sporty. That said, otherwise a great review!
@fredbeblein2622 sure, your entitled to your own opinion, but I'm curious have you driven all of its competitors? What's your benchmark other than the #3?
This is beginning to become an interesting exchange now! I drove the Mazda MX-30, the Cupra Born, in ten days a VW ID3 will follow up. Cars from the Stellantis group are not in my focus because of their smaller batteries. And Volvos are becoming too expensive, respectively do not suit to my and my wife`s needs. So?@@TotallyEV
So, the MX-30 has as stiff or similar setup to the Smart (and isn't recommended). The Cupra, dependent on which model is chosen, could have a stiffer setup too, but generally is more comfortable than the Smart, while the ID.3 is much like the softer setup of the Cupra.
Haha! Well the extra motor is there for those who want it - arguably not the most sensible decision but nonetheless there will be a market for it. Glad you liked the review!
Outstanding and honest review, thank you. Even with its quirks I am really liking this. I am excited to see and compare this to its coming Volvo XC30 brother (sister, cousin? whatever).
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it! Would be curious too, but unfortunately there are no plans to review the EX30 in the near future. Let's hope Volvo UK will sort things out soon!
Yeah fair one. Maybe it’s something that was added. I had a uk test drive last week. So for anyone interested in the brabus version it includes the heated steering wheel.
I would lose some of that acceleration for more range. Also that finger print collecting glove hating infoswitchtainmentsystemssetupdonotoperatewhiledriving panel needs to be chucked into a ditch. Can you imagine if you cracked that thing how useless your car would become?
This car has not been very well thought out, totally disgusting oversized very glossy centre console. Very childish and lagging software, no proper heater knobs and buttons, all on a totally stupid touch screen..
Good afternoon TEV. If you pick this text up I was wondering what your thoughts were on the #1 Pro + standard stereo i.e non Beats system? I’d really appreciate any feedback I’ve ordered my #1 and so look forward to exchanging it for my MG4 which has proven to be bitterly disappointing. If you’re out there do drop a line…🫡
Unfortunately didn't have extensive amounts of time testing and didn't compare to the Beats system, so wouldn't be able to realistically tell you about the systems - the stock one was, however, decent (quite punchy). What didn't you like about the MG4?
Good morning:@@TotallyEV Very grateful for the reply and that's good to hear re: standard system, hopefully, sounds okay. Oh dear, where to start regarding my MG4 - my car has been rejected and I'm in the process of where I go with what's unravelled as I feel the car is dangerously flawed and needs to be recalled. I'll keep you posted and I'm really enjoying your enthusiasm and detailed uploads...
You wont be disappointed, I picked up my Special Edition last Sunday & to be quite honest I cannot believe the amount of tech there is on this car it's amazing & I'm still learning & finding new things, The quality of this car really is exceptional & I traded in my Lexus for the #1, You will not be disappointed, enjoy.
Hi, Sorry I can't really comment on the Pro + only on my car the Limited Edition, From all the research I did before taking the plunge the plus hasn't got so many speakers or a sub in the boot, To be perfectly honest & I wouldn't like to put you off the Pro + the main item you are missing is a Heat pump which apparently is essential in the winter months to pre heat the battery which helps for its longevity, The car mainly is the same as all the other ranges apart from the Brabus obviously, It's interesting your getting rid of your MG from what I seen & tested phenomenal value for an elec-car but for me the quality just isn't there, remember my last car was a Lexus 5 year old not a moments problem with it & not a rattle. So back to the smart fingers crossed this will be similar to the Lexus to me the quality is exceptional but only time will tell.

Apparently the car has driver profiles which you can preset stuff like this.
We bought a #1 in May 2024 . Excellent purchase, and it does have a heated steering wheel.
Enjoy!

Indeed, all correct!
And yes, still do on the tech channel TotallydubbedHD, albeit I've not reviewed a set of headphones for quite some time!

I have driven the Brabus version and the MG4 Xpower. I’m buying the Brabus despite it being £7k more expensive. You really do get what you pay for.

Are the maps 3D?
Honestly, can't remember sorry!
I mean price wise it's pretty competitive. Same as a Cupra Born or ID3....this looks much better imo.

A lot more positives than those two you mentioned from reviews I've watched. I'd choose this over them for sure.
Yup!

Be better if it was a Fortwo size, too expensive.
That would have been nice, but range is an issue with current gen battery tech
There might be one coming called #2 there already is a #1 #3
Did you say no heated steering wheel… Brabus defo has heated wheel.
At the time of the review, it wasn't plausible. Maybe things have changed or there are differences in other markets.
