I think it's awful that diabetics in the U.S cannot access the medication, while ppl who have money are at the head of the line. Not blaming Oprah, or anyone else taking Ozempic. However the ones who really need it for diabetes should be given preference.
I have a little sibling with Type 1 so when I hear anything about the priority of healthcare, I am totally with you on the necessity to cater to the people who need it the most first.
We are short of Ozempic in Canada also. My husband won’t be able to get it until the end of March. Ozempic is not approved in Canada for weight loss so a lot of people are struggling to find their meds here. As my daughter said, ‘wrong time to come clean that her weight loss is more important than non-wealthy people's diabetes’. Not a class act 😡
What is it Oprah is taking?

Unless you’re actually at your doctor’s office about to get a prescription written, why do we need to discuss the side effects? Especially when that’s a discussion that should be had with your doctor.

I always discuss side affects with my doctor. If the side affects out weight the illness, I refuse the medication and find a natural route! With pharmaceutical companies, profits come before people, and with some doctors as well.

Well, it's a medication for diabetes patients anyway. It's just unbelievable that so many people are prioritizing the easy weight loss over any concerns, isn't it? Just for a side effect that helps their vanity and/or laziness. Imagine if people would start using chemotherapy for weight loss and then complain about the hair loss and vomiting. I could understand if people took it who are so obese that they can't even get up and walk. But as it is, it's rather the people who are just somewhat overweight, or sonetimes not even overweight.
Umm.. if you’re depending on someone else to tell you the side effects of a medication, YOU’RE being irresponsible.

We are not fat because of genetics and biological conditions. We are fat because food is good, we love food and we eat way too much food.
We are fat because we don’t know what the industries are putting in our food. All additives aren’t good additives.
Plus industries stuff our food with loads of preservatives, chemicals and addictive substances. If you compare the obesity rates in US and Europe it's a huge difference.
She shouldn’t be a rep for Weight Watchers while losing weight off of a weight loss drug. She can stop with her sob story. She lied until she realized no one believed her.

Unrealistic for anyone who actually works for a living.
Probably intermittent fasting. Many people do it, even working people.
She probably gorges or over eats . There is no way she stops eating at 4pm and becomes obese
fast 16 hours and eat 8 hours in a 24 hour time frame, is very manageable that most people can do it. another word is skip eating breakfast and just eat lunch and dinner. that should give you a 16 hour daily fasting.
You can adjust it for your schedule
How can she attend all those parties after 4 and not eat especially with her eating disorder of loving food 😮

Weight Watchers does work it you want it to. Any weight loss program will work if you are motivated.

Because of Oprah, I now face a shortage of getting Ozempic. As a diabetic patient.

@@Thelagniappelife Meanwhile, in the real world, my pharmacy has been unable to obtain my Ozempic (used top manage my diabetes) for four months out of the last year due to the global shortage. Unfortunately, this meant stopping the Ozempic cold turkey. The effects were more than unpleasant.
Doing it on your own is exercising, eating healthy and the right amount, sleeping enough. Taking.a drug with dangerous side effects and promoting the drug is called irresponsible!

But the hardest hit community can’t afford it. It’s a rich drug because insurance won’t cover it and who can afford the cost? Especially in this economy. The lower classes can’t afford it. Even middle class can’t in most circumstances. I think it’s great but it’s sad that most people don’t have access to that kind of help.

A work colleague has a cost of a1/3 of his paycheck to pay for ozempic. Just a while ago he was complaining it was 1/4.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with using a GLP-1 agonist, but her using it does reveal that it's nearly impossible to adhere to the calorie restriction demanded by WW programs long-term without the support some kind of medical intervention that reduces appetite and cravings and produces a sense of satiety after eating such small meals.

WW is a low-calorie diet, and like all low-calorie diets, it's really difficult to adhere to by people whose bodies don't experience satiety, who often always feel hungry and have strong cravings for certain foods even when they aren't very hungry. If it was truly a diet that a person could sustain long-term without always feeling hungry or thinking about food (which happens when you're semi-starving), then Oprah wouldn't have needed the GLP-1 agonist to stick to it.
If you think 'diet', nothing works. If you think a new way of living and add foods carefully and slowly, any food program will work. Wsnt s quick fix to lose weight for a party or a wedding, anything quick will do the trick, but that's not sustainable. @@Olive_O_Sudden

Wegovy, life changing for me. Haven’t had any unpleasant side effects this far. Though I am experiencing pleasant side effects. I sleep like a baby, better then I can remember I ever had. I feel a light sense of calmness during the day. It’s the calmness after the hunt and desperation is over. Congrats to me 😇

Is the drug called Aiesha, Azhanaé, Jaiden or Ajani? Why was she so offended by my 'batwing tops'? I wore those style shirts to cover my fat when I was heavier. Drink water, take a walk, stop eating junk. Eating large bowls of popcorn or a salad was my diet food when I wanted a crunchy snack. So were smoothies or as much Jello was I wanted. So when I, Aiesha drink a gallon of water daily it is toxic and a mental health concern. When Oprah does it...she is releasing shame for woman around the world. Please stop the lies.
I'm glad she's speaking out about this. Obesity is hereditary. Some people can't control their weight on their own and there should be no shame about that.

Ozempic hasn't been tested for obesity , was designed for people who are diabetic , having diabetes is different to having obesity.
