Whoopi Goldberg Admits To Using Weight Loss Drugs After Oprah's TV Special

- Whoopi Goldberg is opening up about her experience using weight loss drugs following Oprah Winfrey's TV special on the matter. "The View" co-host revealed on the Mar. 19 episode that she did use a weight loss drug at one point for her health. "I will tell you, I weighed almost 300 lbs. when I made 'Till.' I had taken all those steroids, I was on all this stuff. And one of the things that’s helped me dropped the weight was the Mounjaro. That’s what I used," she said. Whoopi went on to admit that she didn't realize how much weight she had gained until she looked at herself one day in the mirror and saw she needed a change. "I just always felt like me. And then I saw me and I thought, 'Oh! That's a lot of me,'" she joked. The EGOT winner isn't the only one at the table who shared her experience using Mounjaro. Sunny Hostin also admitted she used the same weight loss drug after gaining 40 lbs. a few years back because she was shameful over how she looked.

@@TheBrownIslandactually there is, because it’s hard to get for diabetics since the rush to get it for celebs and non diabetics. We, diabetics do struggle.
@cammiesolis652 nothing wrong with taking it. Except that people who can afford have access while the rest of us don't. We ALL deserve to be at a healthy weight. Not just celebrities and those who have the disposable income. Also, there isn't a shortage.
@@carpediem2236 actually there has been shortages for those of us who need it to help control our diabetes. That is why I believe that it should be prioritized for people who desperately need it for their diabetes. Just needing to loose 40 pounds as opposed to controlling a disease is a huge difference. Losing 40 pounds can be accomplished fairly easy with diet. Thats all I'm saying.

Sonny’s all over the place with her comments. She said she was fearful of going back on air 40 lbs over weight (which is totally understandable) and after she took the pills she got hate comments for being too skinny, not too big.
Either way, Sonny’s sudden weight gain and even Whoopi’s at one point are not examples of people who struggle with chronic obesity. They didn’t have the disease of obesity, which suggests they could have used standard diet and exercise to return their previous weight. They used the drug as a quick fix to quickly lose weight and then stop taking it.
Those who struggle with chronic obesity are meant to take it for the rest of their life.
Both of these hosts show how the drug is being misused as a fad diet pill.

Since these women are in the media, it’s harder for them to take their time to loose the weight because of public shaming. But I can take years to get in shape without the pressure of society.
I watched and I learned nothing new from her TV special. Off topic: We must reduce our daily salt and/or sugar intake. That's a simple step towards weight loss.

She didnt say that she gained weight for a movie role. She said she weighed 300 lbs while she was making the movie "Till."
That’s exactly what she said. She had to take steroids to add on pounds for the movie. It was a deliberate weight gain for the role.

Manjaro? Well, my doctors (I’m obese) say there IS a shortage and diabetics can’t get their meds. Just what I was told. They both said I have to be REALLY diabetic to qualify as these are not approved by the FDA & it’s illegal. What’s Sonny say now?

No you must be on other diabetic meds for some insurance companies to pay for it. They possibly paid out of pocket.
There are two different categories for GLP (the weight loss drugs). One classification for diabetes and one classification for weight loss. The shortage is related to the delivery system (the pens) and not the drugs itself.

On a recent episode Whoppie sat there & said how people need to not drink so much. It's like come on! If someone said to her you needed to not eat so much, at this point she'd probably yell & say it's no one's business or its a disease.

Please help make it affordable for everyone. I am just hoping that the drugs will be available to everyone, not just those that have the means to to be able to afford them. Love and hugs to all of us that have had to struggle with this for so long.
If the drug becomes affordable, then people will start to get rid of so many illness by becoming healthy, big pharma ain't never gonna let that happen just imagine if people, didn't have to deal with, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, big pharma would loose millions, remember they are in the business of keeping us sick not in the businessing of healing us!!!!😢
It can be done without drugs but it takes commitment and dedication. You could spend the money for drugs on a trainer who would help with workouts and diet. God bless. You can do it.

Taking medication meant for people to treat their medical condition just so you can lose weight is disgusting. Especially in the US where people have to pay for it. If it's out of stock because the self-absorbed celebrities take them for their own personal gain, what is a diabetic who relies on it meant to do?! Selfish, despicable and inconsiderate. Perhaps make better lifestyle choices! She has the money to hire a dietician, a chef and personal trainer.

So you're saying that the people who take Viagra should feel disgusted because the medication was intended for the treatment of heart disease? Do you know the history of clinical medication? Many of doctor prescribed medications we all use today were originally intended to treat medical problems different from what they are used to treat today. This is the history of medication around the world not only in the USA. Pharmaceutical companies can always make larger batches of these medications but choose to make a more limited supply so they can keep the prices high. Also your statement about "making better lifestyle choices" could be used against the majority of diabetics. Remember most type 2 diabetics could have prevented their condition through a healthier diet and more adequate exercise. Sometimes when you point a finger at others they could point the same finger back at you.
If you care about someone you need to know that being fat is not healthy as is not healthy to be super skinny. The food that we consume does not satisfy us yet everything has corn syrup and or sugar. Sugar is addictive and it makes you want more. When we eat whole food it fills you up and naturally you are satisfied and you do not fill hungry we need to do something about the things that are being put in our food that other countries do not allow because it makes people sick.

I'm not against weight loss pills. Do you! However, this is an example of why I don't idolize celebs bc they don't always do things the "natural " way either. Stay safe, though.
Whoopi NEEDED the Pills like a lot of people in everyday life who are Obese at almost 300lbs need and use it.
So folks want to eat and eat and eat and then use drugs meant for diabetics to lose the weight? There are shortages of these meds and diabetics getting them is the priority not folks who don't like the way they look in a mirror or who have eaten themselves to obesity. Once you go off the drugs you will gain the weight back so those folks need to figure out why they are eating so much and change their eating habits. Diabetics don't have that option.
Type 2 diabetics do have that option. Remember that type 2 diabetes is reversible
They Modify their Diet & Lifestyle Not just take Pills since they already know once they stop the weight will come back. *WHOOPI used it just TEMPORARY when she was close to 300lbs and stopped a long time ago.* She had Back Surgery and at one point had to use a Walker to get around. So she could not Work Out. SUNNY on the other hand gained only 40lbs and just needed to Work Out, Eat less and eat Healthier Meals to lose weight. She should not have taken them but being in the Public Eye puts pressure to lose weight quickly before going on Camera.

just came back from the doctor my prediabetic number is 56 prediabetic number is 57, he says your fine your not prediabetic but im awfully close to it!!!!! people take accountability for your health right now technically he cant do anything until i hit the pre-diabetic number but come on say something like your treading on thin ice , but i have to take responsibility for my health dont wait for the blood test or the doctors to say anything their money is in treating you not saving your life

Sunny is so annoying. She literally could have lost that weight on her own. Whoopi’s situation was far more serious. Sunny and Ana Navarro should be removed from the panel. They wreck the vibes sometimes.

I don't think anyone should use this drug if they are not using it for diabetes. I have friends who need it and can't get it because it is not available. I have one friend who had to wait 2 weeks for her needed diabetes.
