  • DISCLAIMER: IF YOU ARE SENSITIVE TO SEEING SNAILS BEING HURT THEN DO NOT WATCH THIS EPISODE. GIVE IT A HARD PASS!
    Hi friends!
Yes, I inserted some bloopers at the start of the video just for kicks...lol!
This is something I have read about, been told about (for a long while now), and then have been asked to test the method to establish whether or not it is worth the effort?
The 'Beer-Jar-Trap' method used to manage snail infestations in a garden or area where snails are prevalent has been talked about for ages and in this episode I actually show you how it works, if it works and leave you to decide whether or not it is something you would like to use this in your own situation. Let me know in the comments what you think and what your experiences have been with respect to its efficacy. Watch all the way to the end to see the outcomes of the trial I did with 3 jars in 3 different situations to test the BJT Snail Trap.
Hope this is as useful to you as it was an education for me.
    Green, Garden Love to you.
    Bye bye
    Gabriel

You know me, I'd drink the beer and wait for some rain and take a walk in the garden with my slip-slops on.....

I have been collecting plants since I was a little boy. A tip, I go into ALL nurseries, even the ones that seem like they are likely to have nothing interesting. I sell plants at my nursery too.

interesting - hadn't even considered that larger creatures such as rodents may be susceptible, as I've never heard that mentioned in all the times I've heard people talk about beer traps.
(at least the shrew in the video most likely died pretty much anaesthetised with all the beer! and hopefully another one will soon take over it's former territory).

Absolutely, I hadn't really considered this either. Glad I learned this though(in some way), pity the shrew had to take the plunge into permanent alcoholism in order for us to learn this. As you mentioned I hope it was happy in the end and made the best of it's lockdown
