  • Don’t call Travis Reynolds a shaper. That would downplay the Santa Cruz, California, board builder’s role in bringing his crafts to life. From tracing templates to pouring resin to covering the finished board in artwork, Reynolds handles every step of the process, and he wouldn’t have it any other way. For the most recent clip in The Now series, we sat down with Reynolds to discuss the virtue of finishing what you start.

What I'm asking myself when I watch this. I'm not a surfer by the way, so it's a question from someone who does not know a thing about surfboards. Is this, having a local boardshaper/builder make your board, cheaper, or more expensive than buying a big brand mass produced surfboard?

Interesting. My experience in small town Australia is that the local shapers are much much cheaper than buying a firewire/ CI / HS etc.

He's in Hawaii .... What's with all the "M10" logos at 1:10?! Pretty sure Geoff rashe is in Santa Cruz and outsources the surf tech stuff to Brazil... Plus that's more M10 logos than actual M10 boards I've ever seen in one location lol and I have 4
