    Great day at the lake. Awesome tips on the tackle usage too. Dark time in my life. Funny stuff. I was in scouting as a leader for like forever.....maybe 16+ years. The dark time in my life is losing fish when my light line slips through the gap in the eyelet. LOL. Well done on your catches. Nice fatties! Have a great day.

      @@jayfry905 There are a ton of lakes near there that I need to fish. Any size to the fish in those lakes?

      @@UtahWaterLog my friend and I caught salmon at state line in my cheap raft trolling with a wedding ring with a worm as far as the other two lakes, there has to be good size fish in there. It’s a good size lake it’s beautiful.

    New to your channel. Very nice video. With your tube you can fish anyplace in a lake. It doesn't look like you are casting very far from your tube. Realistically, how far can you cast the gulp minnow with the 1/16 oz. jig head from your tube or from the shore and would you recommend a heavier weight to cast a further distance from the shore. I have never fished with gulp minnows before but I have seen them in the store and they come in many colors and shades. What color do you recommend for the uintas?

      @UtahWaterLog  18 дней назад

      @davidbentley8092 1. I use light line so I can cast a reasonable distance. 6lb mono. I can cast maybe 60-80ft, if I'm trying to get it out there far. Casting far is less important than being able to work my lure through certain features of the lake.
      2. I recommend a heavier weight for longer casting and deeper water presentation. Normally, I choose to throw 1/16oz with 3" Smelt minnows.
      1/8oz jigs with the 4" minnows work well in slightly deeper water, just so I can tell where my jig is. So I can feel it.
