    Miss Lisa this was the most delightful video! You NEVER talked down to those ladies or belittled them. You gave friendly instruction with encouragement & respect. This is why you are a true professional at your craft. And this is why you have the love & respect of so many of your fans & I'm sure your clients as well!

    I love seeing makeup artists work with mature women. I'm always trying to find resources for my mother (65), because she often feels left out and forgotten by the cosmetics world. I love when my mom feels pretty, and I like her to realize that there's beauty at every age and she'll always be worth the time.

    I just love how kind and empowering Lisa is with these women! She sees the beauty and best in them and then brings it out tenfold. She never describes certain features as flaws, which is something I'm so tired of hearing from the beauty industry. She never attempts to contour away someone's nose for absolutely no reason. People have different eye shapes, which are just something different to work with. Big lips are in at the moment (and are gorgeous), but an elegant little lip is a beautiful, sophisticated thing too. I wish every MUA had her approach and her talent for truly seeing people. I'd feel so much more comfortable consulting make-up counters if this were the case. At the moment, I find it difficult to find counter staff who don't want to simply superimpose trends onto my face.

    Lisa, all the other comments say it all about the fantastic professional and kind person you are, so I can only say one more thing, which is how gorgeous you look on all the videos; your hair looks amazing, your makeup looks amazing and your style in clothes is amazing. I love how you apply and teach makeup to look so natural and beautiful 😘

    I love that you create an ambience of non judgement, individual attention, creatively building up self esteem and joy filled moments as each woman met her potential self. Seeing the myriad of brushes vs the minimal cosmetic items being used, is much like my setup. Love love love my brushes! I think it was Mr. Goss who said that one can create miracles with excellent quality brushes/tools (not equated to price point) & less than stellar makeup but god help one with bad brushes & expensive makeup. You surely support his perspective :) 5 years later and this video continues to ring true. My year this year was made when I received your beautiful signed book 'Face Paint' for my 57th birthday from my stepdaughter. I have lauded you & your magic to her for many years-we are both so enjoying the book- always something new to learn, and we appreciate the photo references and illustrations. I feel truly blessed to own your book. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you & yours Lisa ox Care

    Imagine Lisa and Betty having a joined channel on here. It would be perfection!
    All of Lisa's videos are such an inspiration to me. I'm a 19 year old girl from the US and I adore makeup. These videos are such great tools to learn from. You explain everything so perfectly and to the point yet still simplifying it to a point where anyone could understand. If I ever have an important event I want to look nice for or a certain occasion, the whole week before I'll watch your videos just to pick up tricks and tips because I know if I follow your guidance I'll end up looking and feeling amazing :)
    Thank you for being the amazing person you are!
    Much love,

Thank you Lisa for sharing your talent. Your videos are an inspiration and you are absolutely charming. Merry Christmas!

    Lisa you have such a way with people..you make them feel so comfortable without any snobbiness. Many professionals seem to come across so condescending and it actually scares people away from learning (at any age). I'm 36 and still learning the most basic skills at makeup..and you really help guide people like myself who would otherwise be completely lost. Thank you.

    You are the very first make-up artist I have ever seen on a makeover show who actually not only demonstrates how to use the products but lets them do it for themselves so that they can learn and do it by themselves - your are actually helping them in the long run rather than it being a one off makeover! You can tell you have a kind heart and just want to make them feel good about themselves :) Really enjoy your videos - you are just beautiful and so knowledgeable!

    Love, love, love this. I always see older women who are confused about wearing makeup because their skin (and the times) have changed significantly since they started wearing it. Also, the beauty industry usually ignores older customers, which is so sad. It's so good to see someone taking the time to help these women!

    Lisa...you have a lovely natural way about you that is so refreshing. I'm 69, have silver hair which I love, but my eyebrows have remained black and very sparse in parts. To add to the puzzle I have olive skin, a very tanned all year round olive as I gravitate from my New Zealand summer to the Australian summer...I never see a winter. Although I am big on moisturiser I have never worn makeup and feel it would give my face a lift especially after watching your tutorials. The problem is, I have no idea what to buy in the form of a base that suits my colouring as I have never seen tutorials that cover my colouring. Also I have been to counters that present me with liquids, creams and mineral powders and I am sooo confused to the point where I leave empty handed. Can you suggest something for me please? My skin leans toward the dry.

    • @smajlik1
      @smajlik1 6 лет назад +1

      I know it's way too late and I know I am not Lisa. But I would suggest starting with something sheer just to even out the skin tone, something like a BB or CC cream. They tend to be quite moisturizing and have also other good stuff in them including SPF (though I personally don't believe too much in the effect considering how thin layer you use). It sounds like nothing but when my grandma (80) started to use one, I was surprised how much of a difference it made. If you want a proper foundation, I think it is a good idea to go for liquid and again look for hydrating ones. I would personally stay away from heavy foundations as they tend to add years. The second thing to look for after texture is the colour match. You should always check it in natural light(!) - if I can't get a sample I just try the sample in the store - I put a little bit on my neck and check the match at home after it had time to oxidize. Because like with any other paint the wet formula can have (quite) a bit different colour than when it dries down. It may sound all scary and complicated, but it is just about trying what suits you and what you like. And if you find it's bad, you can always wash it off!
