What a great video! You have this incredible earth mother radiance about you that makes your work seem less about makeup or appearances but... more altruistic and nurturing. You're like the Mother Theresa of beauty, I guess is what I'm trying to say.
Yes it does and has even happened the night of a red carpet to a celebrity client of mine! I carry Zorvirex cream and did a make up which was a bright lip colour and managed to conceal the crust. To this day no-one noticed her cold sore. Had to keep everything we touched separate from the kit and then wash and double sterilize EVERYTHING (plus I threw all the lip products away after). Hygiene is key X
You are honestly the best person on RUclips. Best advice, super informational video, and a great role model. We are honestly fortunate to have you on here.
This is hands down one of the most helpful and informative videos I've ever watched...this is the glaring difference between an experienced professional and a RUclips beauty personality..thanks so much for sharing your practical tips and tools
I once had a cream bleach disaster. I'd put it on my legs and whilst it was developing, my housemate's cat came and rubbed herself ALL OVER my saturated legs! I spent about half an hour chasing her around the house with a damp cloth and a tin of tuna to lure her with... Luckily, the cat was fine, but very grumpy at having been out through such an ordeal :-/
Re: this works rollerball muscle tension relieving thing I bought this (after seeing this video) as I have fibromyalgia and ehlers danlos (so I get a great deal of muscular pain, joint pain, nerve pain, fatigue, etc)... It arrived this morning... I'm in a middle of a pain crash right now (I was in tears this morning), taking two different opiates... as soon as this arrived, I put it on, all over my neck, shoulders, back... For fibro/EDS, it's not a wonder drug... however... it *does work*. The pain changed over about twenty minutes, and felt as if uric acid was being released, the same way that massages release it. And the pain dropped down a few notches. I will certainly be using it again. Thank you Lisa for the recommendation.
I am trying to become a makeup artist, and this was by far one of the most helpful videos I have come across. I have been wondering about how to deal with skin concerns and what products to use that won't always cause reactions. Thank you so much for making this video. Please never delete this! I want to use it for future reference!
Sometimes I watch the older ones - I love them. I´ve learned so much from Lisa, e.g. less is more on the skin before putting on makeup, prepping the skin is important, but not too much, taking care of your skin, but use skincare with proper ingriediences... And I appreciate her approach of putting on makeup and creating looks. It´s fuzz-free, it´s easy and fresh. Thank you, Lisa! ❤️
I would give the world to get a makeover with you. After my Dad passed away my husband of 25 years said he wanted a divorce (2 months after Dad passed), numerous other things yet I know others have it far worse. I am just into my mid 50's and cant imagine another man wanting to date me so I sit home with my kitty, my best friend. I do watch your video's for help and I appreciate you so much for taking the time to offer this beneficial information. Thank you, I think you must be so kind.
Thank you for doing this video! So many people and makeup artists I've met seem to think that being a makeup artist is only about putting makeup on the face, but there are many skin and body issues a makeup artist may need to address before applying makeup! I was shocked to find out from several clients that I'm the only makeup artist they've EVER had ask them about allergies or sensitivities or problem skin and areas! It's just elementary to me!
im no pro but i do a lot of ladies makeup and apply common sense by asking them beforehand if they feel any discomfort with certain brands or products or have any allergies or skin infections. cant believe some MUA's overlook that
Today, because of this video, I put my hair in a side plait, popped on some mascara, bright pink lipstick and blush and left the house in 15 minutes. I've had more compliments that I look nice and young (i'm 41, so that's rare and very much appreciated) than when i've spent 30 minutes trying my best with a 'look'. I've now taken my plait out and my straight, fine hair has some lovely waves. Its been a good face and hair day. Thank you Lisa, you are an inspiration without even trying. xxx
Hi Lisa, these tips are amazing! I'm a makeup artist as well and I often work on sets that are outdoors as I live in the Caribbean so I was wondering what your favorite product would be for bug bites...oh and red eyes?
Lisa Eldridge Re: this works rollerball muscle tension relieving thing I bought this (after seeing this video) as I have fibromyalgia and ehlers danlos (so I get a great deal of muscular pain, joint pain, nerve pain, fatigue, etc)... I love the amount of research you put into products, the funny stories and most of all that you're really knowledgeable about the ingredients instead of just suggesting something because 'it works'. I think you're the most trustworthy makeup artist on RUclips!
HAAAA Lisa! You made me do it again! I went crazy mesmerized over your beautiful nail polish and I scrambled all over the internet (where it was sold out everywhere!) until I finally found a seller on Amazon to ship it to me from the other side of the globe. It arrived in the mail yesterday and I put it on right away! I am so happy *Shaking a beautifully manicured fist*
I love that you understand why products work...it makes it super helpful to follow and find similar products to suit our own skin types too. I find all of your films so informative and yet so calming to watch!
That's so nice of you to think about other people's stress. Their achy shoulders or stress has nothing to do with your job, but still you care about making them feel good, feel better. I'm so glad I found your channel, you're the best person I've ever seen online. Not just as a makeup guru/artist/youtuber, but you're a nice person as well. I'm glad I know of a person like you. In today's world when even doctors don't care about their patients, it's really amazingly nice to see a makeup artist caring about the mental and physical well being of the people they come in contact with (not just superficial wellness).
I love how you focus on the CARE of skin. A lot of so-called makeup-artists out there would just pile makeup on a model and not care one bit about what happens after they wash it all off, not realizing that makeup looks its absolute best on healthy skin. Thanks to you I've finally started taking care of my skin. I'm only 21, wouldn't want to damage it this early in the game!!!
Lisa, I don't know what it is... your voice, your beauty, your knowledge of the products, your being nice enough to share your knowledge and expertise, or just the fact that it so looks like you enjoy being a girl! I'm mezmerised during your videos... Thank you so much for what you do!
Hi Lisa! It would be great if you'd do a tutorial about cold weather-make-up! One, that really protects the skin but does not look too oily, shiny or dries out everything...
Hi Lisa, apart from being a great MUA, I love the fact that you recommend/share with us your viewers about skincare. It's not only about concealing our imperfections but because beauty starts from within. So, thank you!
Lisa was so ahead of her time! We hadn't started talking about actual skincare until the first lockdown and here she is in 2013 talking about Avene and La Roche Posay and psoriasis...
Its quite general purpose and can be used on hands, nails, lips, grazes, dry patches anywhere on face or body (and I even use it as a highlighting sheen on the cheekbones for some looks) X
Hi Lisa, Would you please do a video about what type of lighting is best to apply make up? What lightbulbs or lighted makeup mirrors are best to apply make up at home? LOVE your videos. I have learned a lot about make up from you. Keep it up. Thanks.
I have been watching you for years now, and I have always appreciated your holistic approach to beauty which really separates you from others. I think people respect your opinions because you have the experience to back it up. Unlike these younger girls trying a not so great hyped product and pushing it towards the viewer, you show the viewer products that are tried and true and techniques that actually work. This particular video is a prime example, so thanks!
Lisa, This list is amazing, I've seen some of your backstage videos and it looks extremely chaotic! But yet you have all these in your kit, you're extremely well prepared and organized!
Hi Lisa! Of all makeup and beauty videos all around RUclips, I always come back to your videos for info and beauty tips. You're not only a makeup genius who are talking about makeup but you care for their skin too. To me, you're the beauty genius! Love from Malaysia..
I just wanted to say that I really admire you :) You seem so professional yet down to earth and like such a sweetheart. I mean it says a lot how you treat your co-workers and customers always friendly and with warmth, at least from what I can tell. Please don't ever change :) Much love xxx
Lisa, do you have any SOS product for spots? like when someone turn up onto the photoshoot with one or two huge red pimple spots on their face, do you have any product to calm it down or just use concealer to conceal them temporarily?
She has videos about covering blemishes: www.lisaeldridge.com/video/12764/acneblemish-covering-make-up/You can also try pressing a cold cloth onto it for a few minutes first, to calm it. Pat dry. Use a it-zapping concealer product (ELF has two, at least, and many other brands carry similar). Good luck!
I tried the Cicaplast balm today after being tormented to tears with PUPP (rash on abdomen during pregnancy). It is AMAZING! Thanks for the tip Lisa :)
Yes! I did a blog post about it a while ago. Its a great all purpose cream for anyone who isnt sensitive to Lavender Oil. Glad its working so well for you X
I work on SK-II in the management office in Singapore and you have no idea how excited I got when YOU ie my favorite person on RUclips mentioned the SK-II mask even though you're all the way in the UK!!!!!! Lol I personally love SKII too in all honesty. It's done wonders fr my skin!
You are the sweetest person ever! It's so nice of you to give products away when someone enjoys them or has good luck with them. Thank you so much for your videos, and God bless you lovely Lisa! XOXOXOX
Sometimes I apply a good mask with bentonite and Kaolin (like Murads Clarifying) as the clay really helps. Then take care not to overload the skin with product before foundation. Just a oil absorbing primer can be enough on its own. Then use a, thin light layer of oil free, mattifying foundation well blended. conceal and powder X
Lisa, what do you do if someone has very dry, flaky skin as a result of using a lot of retinol products for acne? i have the flakiest skin and acne and putting foundation and concealer over it just makes it look worse!
Products containing Salicylic acid (bha's) can help a lot. I like Dermalogicas Overnight clearing Gel as it doesnt dry the skin out too much. I also use clay (bentonite and kaolin) and aha masks (like Murads Clarifying mask and skinceuticals) applied in a thick layer over the spot and left overnight if possible to draw or dry out the blemish X
amazing! you're so generous lisa, i love the fact that you even care about the crew who are stressed out from carrying heavy things. :) you dont just try to get your job done and mind your won business, you really love what you do and care about people you work with. :) thats so nice to know about you. this video is the reason why i'm afraid of being a makeup artist but its also the reason why i wanna learn more about being an MUA. thank you so much. you are truly an inspiration.
Lisa, I am such a fan of you and your work. You are a true inspiration to me, to watch a person that has such passion about the art of make-up as I do makes me very happy! You are a joy
I really like some of their products, they have a very gentle peel which is really good for sensitive skin. Sienna Miller told me she loves their facial tanning product too X
If you have sensitive skin, you should be aware that mineral oil and other ingredients have been known to irritate the skin, so you should watch carefully for any side effects that may occur. Ardens Eight Hour Cream has a cult status. I question that very much indeed. It may as well be a severe case of "EMPEROR NEW CLOTHING" effect. Meaning that people deliberately want to see something in a certain way. In other words: much ado about nothing; against ones better judgement. I add the list of (8 hour cream) ingredients below and leave it up to you to look them all up. In any case you will become painfully aware that Arden does not take any interest in the health nor in the well being of your skin or body. Ingredients: Petrolatum 56.8% (PURE VASELINE!!), Lanolin, Mineral Oil, Fragrance, Salicylic Acid, Propyparaben, Castor Oil, Corn Oil, Tocopherol, BHT (butylhydroxytoluol), Iron Oxides. I woul never want to put THAT MUCK on my skin, never ever!
Petri Heil I agree. People just buy something because it's popular and not based on what's inside. And to the other comment natural doesn't mean good. So be careful
Lisa your videos are always so passionate and you never give an advice without feeling strong about it. It's so nice to know that I already use some of your approved tricks of the trade!
This is really great. Your knowledge as a professional is so extensive, and as a makeup artist, I love knowing what the top in the field are overcoming some of the problems I have. Love when you do pro videos!
Oh poor you! I really feel for you. Yes latex allergies can be quite common. You've learned something good and gained valuable experience in your career .... thats a good thing. The more you work on different faces and in different situations the more you learn as MUA. Thats how we eventually get to be great at our jobst! Thanks for sharing your stressful nightmare! X
I have extremely dry skin and have been working really diligently at fixing it. I've made some progress but I took your SOS advice and got Dr. H. after one day, my skin is soft, like really soft! You are my beauty guru
I have rosacea and it has calmed slightly over the summer and as I've got older but i can tell it will flare up again this winter so I will definitely be purchasing some of the items you've recommended! Video is a godsend and you're an absolute gem xxxx
It must be nice to be your client. You are so well-prepared & you pamper them with all these tried&true products. But it's so lovely of you to share all these tips with us as well :)
I love that you mentioned a lot of French brands and products. I feel really proud as a Parisian, that such a talented makeup artist like you would give them a shoutout! It is true that French pharmacies are really competent and every time I'm in Paris, I stock up on some of my true essentials (I am now a student in London). The pharmacy Rue du Four you mentioned is a 5mn walk from my home and even though it's always crowed with tourists, it is amazing and one of the cheapest in Paris.
Oh my, I remember seeing my mom using Jolen when I was a kid, then I used it as a teen and then I started using wax and completely forgot about good old Jolen. Thank you for reminding me of this product. I went out and got me one because of you. I love it!
I am so thankful someone has asked this question and you've answered!!! I've had a nightmare with acne over the past four months due to contraception changes (my sister and mother also still suffer from acne) I am definitely going to check those videos out again! Thank you and as always amazing video, you look sensational!! xx
Hey Lisa I know that you're a makeup artist and not a vlogger but would you consider filming a day in the life video? I'd love to see that and I love all your work and I think it's amazing that you take the time to film these video to help us and I've been watching you for 3 years now. xx
I got in a car accident over christmas and Cicaplaste Baume B5 completely saved my face. The air bags went off and took off a lot of skin on my face, but within a few days of using the baume my face looked smooth again. Huge fan of the product.
I don't know if it's the lighting, your makeup, or if you've had some sort of peel or procedure but your skin looks INCREDIBLE! Makeup tutorial for this look pleaseeee!!! :)
Another lifesaver that I swear by is crushed up Tylenol/ibuprofen with a few drops of Visine to form a paste, and I use that as a spot treatment for pimples or red spots. It is a lifesaver for calming an inflamed zit/pimple, and it's very soothing because of the anti-inflammatory properties. Preparation H is another must have for puffy eyes and swelling. Finally my last SOS trick is milk of magnesia as a facial primer to make everything incredibly smooth and keep grease at bay. These are all very old school solutions, but theyre tried, tested and truly work!!
I agree, and I really appreciate the good production value of Lisa's videos! Easier to watch, less fluff, more to the point! Seems like 90% of videos are gaudy, overworked cut-creases. Has its place, but that's so one-dimensional...
Lisa, I was in the mood tonight to get some info, I am a hair styist of 20 years and just turning 40 next month really wanted to learn. THIS VIDEO, is worth so much more then the youtube free site. I would have paid to have all the valuable, candid, on point information you gave. Thank you so much for being so giving with your experience. You are a go to for me. Not many people share like you do. Shannon
I have sensitive skin and if I used most of these products you mention, my skin would freak out badly... essential oils and fragrance in general are a big no-no in my book. But I understand people's skins react differently and I'm happy that you have found a "first-aid kit" that works for your clients.
You are one of my favorite artists! I love all of your videos. You are such an inspiration. I love that you are an industry artist, not a RUclips artist.
Your comment struck a chord with me as I've been in some very dark places in my life too, but I'd like to say that your confidence has been given a major shock to the system and it would probably destroy a lesser person, but you're not one of those, when the time is right you'll want to start again with someone else but it takes time and very small steps. So I wish you luck and I hope you're bearing up ok.
I adore Avene & was just given two chubby sticks to try from a local Pharmacy where I was in filming videos (skin analysis etc)...I really love this video, very, very helpful. You've given me many ideas Lisa, as always! Hugs x
I'm doing a marathon of your videos. They've been very helpful. I learned a lot even just the basics of make-up application. I'm more learned now than before.
I thought It was just me, but I see the comments and realise that everyone agrees with me, Lisa, you look so gorgeous, fresh and young in this video, simply stunning! xx
What a great video! You have this incredible earth mother radiance about you that makes your work seem less about makeup or appearances but... more altruistic and nurturing. You're like the Mother Theresa of beauty, I guess is what I'm trying to say.

Shannon CockburnTry Tee tree oil for bug bites. it works like magic, reducing redness and irritation. Anti bacterial and very effective.

One, that really protects the skin but does not look too oily, shiny or dries out everything...
Dear Lisa, as a somewhat older woman who has only recently discovered make-up I am so happy to watch your videos. Great tutorials. Thank you so much.
You are like the Nigella of beauty! Love your vides! X
Hi Lisa, apart from being a great MUA, I love the fact that you recommend/share with us your viewers about skincare. It's not only about concealing our imperfections but because beauty starts from within. So, thank you!
your voice is so relaxing and you're my favourite makeup artist! :)
In addition to being educational and current, your videos are so well-organized, friendly and nonjudgmental. A class act.

Lisa was so ahead of her time! We hadn't started talking about actual skincare until the first lockdown and here she is in 2013 talking about Avene and La Roche Posay and psoriasis...
Have you done a tutorial for this makeup job. Absolutely love it. It's so chic but minimalistic. Please do video. I'm your biggest fan ..

I also use clay (bentonite and kaolin) and aha masks (like Murads Clarifying mask and skinceuticals) applied in a thick layer over the spot and left overnight if possible to draw or dry out the blemish X
shes amazing
amazing! you're so generous lisa, i love the fact that you even care about the crew who are stressed out from carrying heavy things.
You look like a young idina mendzel
Jane Lewis they are about the same age
Lisa, I am such a fan of you and your work. You are a true inspiration to me, to watch a person that has such passion about the art of make-up as I do makes me very happy! You are a joy
She is very lovely in this video, isn't she.
I really like some of their products, they have a very gentle peel which is really good for sensitive skin. Sienna Miller told me she loves their facial tanning product too X
If you have sensitive skin, you should be aware that mineral oil and
other ingredients have been known to irritate the skin, so you should
watch carefully for any side effects that may occur.
I add the list of (8 hour cream) ingredients below and leave it up to you to look them
all up.
In any case you will become painfully aware that Arden does not take any
interest in the health nor in the well being of your skin or body.
Ingredients:
Petrolatum 56.8% (PURE VASELINE!!), Lanolin, Mineral Oil, Fragrance, Salicylic Acid,
Propyparaben, Castor Oil, Corn Oil, Tocopherol, BHT (butylhydroxytoluol),
Iron Oxides.
I woul never want to put THAT MUCK on my skin, never ever!
I prefer natural skincare. I think a lot of products are so hyped up ! I bet they dont even sell as well as they claim
Very helpful for people who are makeup artists as well as those who aren't! This is why we love you Lisa xo
Yes but what colour are they now? Take care as they can go orangey if you lighten them up slightly from brown X
Your eye make up actually took my breath away for a second and made my jaw drop, amazing!!!
Gosh your clients are so lucky to be this pampered!
Found this really interesting - your knowledge and research into products shows how much you love and care about your job and clients.
I love that you mentioned a lot of French brands and products. I feel really proud as a Parisian, that such a talented makeup artist like you would give them a shoutout! It is true that French pharmacies are really competent and every time I'm in Paris, I stock up on some of my true essentials (I am now a student in London). The pharmacy Rue du Four you mentioned is a 5mn walk from my home and even though it's always crowed with tourists, it is amazing and one of the cheapest in Paris.
just discovered you and I'm already in love. appreciate your tips because usually make up artists don't share their kit items
Thank you and as always amazing video, you look sensational!! xx
so happy you brought this up! i have really sensitive skin and i feel like there's so many makeup artists that dont know which products to use.
This is a really fantastic idea for a video! I don't think I'll ever be able to tell you how much I enjoy your videos and how grateful I am to you!
Again! Another kitchen table/ cup of tea good ol' girl time talk! You're amazing and loved! Thank you!😘😉🙋💕💕💕💕❤️
The cream is greasy as its for Dry skin ... have you tried the emulsion? Its aimed more at normal to combi skin with redness? X
I don't know if it's the lighting, your makeup, or if you've had some sort of peel or procedure but your skin looks INCREDIBLE! Makeup tutorial for this look pleaseeee!!! :)
Dear Lisa, you look so fresh and young. The most inspring look ever!
My skin has recently become very dry and it's often irritated, so I'm definitely taking notes! Thanks for sharing your tips, they really are helpful!!
I adore you and your knowledge and passion for makeup and skin care. I'm in heaven when watching your videos
You are a therapist and make up genius all in one gorgeous package :) :) Your skin looks absolutely flawless in this video!
I'm more learned now than before.
the hair, makeup, and blouse are perfection. love this look you have going here!
I think you are the professor of beauty. I find myself taking notes when you are explaining.Thank you for teaching us :) you are the best of the best.
I thought It was just me, but I see the comments and realise that everyone agrees with me, Lisa, you look so gorgeous, fresh and young in this video, simply stunning! xx
Your make up and the fish braid looks lovely on you. The colour of your nails is stunning. Thank you for another very helpful video.
I am seriously in LOVE with your look here. Please please please do a tutorial on it! ❤❤
