Hi Andrew, Do you have any reference between the two parts? I.e. if you update your lip thickness do you have to manually update the groove thickness to match or is there a way to reference one off the other?

I usually don't set up any parametric relations between the lip and the groove as the dimensions are ultimately determined by the nominal wall thickness which both parts usually share. You could easily set up some in- context sketch relations by converting either the lip or the groove sketch from one part into a sketch in the other part. If you need an offset, offset the in- context sketch instead of trying to do it all at the assembly level.

why not use Insert> fastening feature > lip and groove?
