    are those beans precooked or do you just add em in raw to cook in the chili?

    • @ArtGardenFoodExpressions
      @ArtGardenFoodExpressions 2 года назад

      They would have to be precooked. And I would think to cook them from dry first. You can use canned beans, though.

    How spicy is it? I want to make this but the little one does not like spicy. Is there a way to tone it down?

  • @theibsanos197
    @theibsanos197 2 года назад +1

    Always puzzled me why spices especially, are added with the wets, after the frying stage, rather than with the fry fry.
    Whapp dem spices in-between the onion and red pepper step and your spices will be much, MUCH more rounded in the taste/dish!

    Do not brown the mince like that.... You sacrifice the flavouring massively! You should fully brown mince separately until really brown which triggers a reaction in the red meat producing a nice flavour.

  • @jayroland9481
    @jayroland9481 4 месяца назад

    It's rather pointless to use olive oil in chilli dishes as you wouldn't taste it so sunflower oil would suffice. Also, bell peppers in a chilli? Really? Same with oregano. And where was the cocoa powder (NOT drinking chocolate powder), pure cocoa is one of the main ingredients in a genuine chilli con carne (which would explain why it is generally a dark brown colour and not red) as it tempers the hot chillies and gives a nuttiness to the dish. Give it a go, you'll love it.

    I am confused! Some people doing this recipe do it in twenty minutes, here you have to simmer for 1 hour? What gives lol.
