  • Hello everyone,
Thank you for visiting the creative cove. My name is Michele and I love to share fun creative ideas with paper and all kinds of different mediums. Today is another Lino cutting video. This time we are carving a little birdie.
I hope this video inspires you to try lino cutting. I find it very relaxing and you always end up with a fun new stamp.
    Happy creating!

My second video, as you’d talked about if you aren’t an artist that you could trace out a bird to create your own stamp! Love watching you create your own stamp of these birdies!! The other video I watched you stamp out backgrounds for your little birdies on tracing paper. Thank you for sharing, and tips you’ve learned in the process. Watching from Canada, Gillian.

Just recently found you, am happy I did. I do a lot of stamp carving, and find that the easiest way to add the white spot
(or catch light) is with my Dremel and a small drill bit. You could use a mechanical drill as well, but I live my Dremel. I've also invested in amazing tools by Pfeil. The V gauges are deep and tiny. You'll never go back!

Great video. I just love the birdies!!! And I love the stamps you make. They look so artsy. Someday I will try to carve some. But from watching your channel, it seems you are a very good artist!!! I love your ideas. Thx for video.

I have a hard time carving thin lines. I've tried barely using pressure, but I think the deep V is still too wide. I may need to make my own tool.

@@TheArtfulAddict that sounds like a good idea. There are lots of v shaped ones so yours might just be to wide.

I loved this; thanks so much for sharing. Have you ever tried inking the Lino first and then drawing and carving? I never have, but it seems like an option where precision is desired. Of course, it would sacrifice some of the vitality…

If I also made the same mistake with the branch, could I cut out a branch and stamp it down first, then stamp the bird on top? Very cute project, well done!

Yes great idea. You can layer as many stamps as you like. They are very versatile 😊
