That's not only about the hustle, you can't hustle out of nowhere. Something bothers him. Simmons looks frustrated af. It's clear, he can't do everything people expect him to do. The NBA is a meat grinder, he needs to either have a break from the game (maybe a definitive one), or go to a team where the pressure is way lower than Philadelphia and specially New York, even this has the risk of him being the "superstar" of the team.
I'm no psychologist, but I think he doesn't believe how good he is, that's why he can't improve, he just doesn't let himself do what's good for him. I was in this situation (and go back sometimes) and I know a lot of people of my generation that's in this hole too, he's just a year younger than me, maybe it's a generational thing, idk. Ironically, he needs to "trust the process" and give a few steps back to go forward.

Philly Native here, I watched him unravel 2 years ago n I was both sad for him, n mad at him. He clearly suffers from a thinking problem on court when the stakes are high. I have no clue if he was raised to feel entitled in his childhood, but him being a #1 draft value did not help. He has to somehow embrace adversity for love of the game n life in general. Truth is, I don’t think he loves the game. He loves celebrity status. Maybe once that status is 200% tarnished, he could dig deep n get better. That’s looking highly unlikely. Stranger things have happened though so who knows. I really hope he works on what’s hard, n gets aggressive. His story could turn a 180 n become the athlete most us know he was meant to be, n how great of a story would that be? Epic.

He runs the risk of playing in the NBL in Australia and getting his ass kicked there too. That would be a massive embarrassment.

I really don't understand how most of these dudes play basketball their whole lives and never develop a shot but somehow make it to the league.

He drove us bat s*** crazy in Philly. Forget a mid range. Just shoot from 6 feet with a stop and pop. I suggested he watch Jalen Brunson. the guy never confronted his issues and was unbelievably arrogant and narcissistic. There is a consensus he wanted to be famous and a star but has no great love for the game. Probably the most despised athlete in the city's history.

simmons took "I don't need all this negativity" to a new level and destroyed his career in the process.

Embiid is a better man then me. Idk how he never beat his a ss at one point. Simmons might be worse than Westbrick now

If Haslem can make that midrange jumper...no reason for Simmons to not even try

Philadelphia screws another. Mikel Bridges is the luckiest guy who got drafted but got traded on the same day to save his life.😊

Letting Jimmy Butler go and then signing Al Horford are the moves that haunts the Sixers most.

U would think after bens costly playoff pass and legends, players everyone telling him to develop his shot, that he would be locking himself in the gym, taking hundreds of shots a day. Instead his shooting regresses. Mind boggling

Well if he was scared the spotlight would be on him for missing hes actually made it worse because now the spotlight is even greater. Hes likely trapped in his own mind, defeated by inaction and uncertainty.
