I lost "My Doug" to COVID-19 just over 3 years ago. These lyrics and the melody speak so poignantly. This song touches me "soul deep" as if to the very beginning of me. It was a depth so great that I never thought it possible to feel so sad and yet so connected. We loved dancing, and there are times I feel as though he's dancing with me. There's another Moody Blues song that resonates just as much yet takes another path to the same place.
Sherry ~ Deep condolences on your loss. When this video was created & shared on a few Moody Blues fan groups last year it was overwhelming to read the comments of people who related the lyrics and visual storyline to their own life experience, and in particular the loss of someone special to them. Music can become so interconnected with our memories of people, times & places, and The Moody Blues seem to be the masters of creating songs that can resonate with the listener on a deeper level.
Oh my goodness….this reaches the very depths of my heart …been so long since 😢Every moment recalls the time ! Your video is like opening a treasure box of memories so far away, yet so bittersweet to remember. Magnificent ✨🌟✨👌🏼
You're welcome, and I'm always pleased when people enjoy the videos. I like the creative challenge of trying to interpret these great songs that never got official music videos.
Thanks so much. So far this one doesn't seem to be getting as many views as the other Moodies videos. But I'm hoping that when it gets to closer to winter that this videos will circulate more on Facebook and in the Moodies fans forums. Every Christmastime the fan groups light up with songs from the "December" album, and this will be a new video version that many will have seen before.
Condolences on your loss. Sometimes music is the best medicine to soothe our deepest pain, or at least that has been my experience. Many have said they find this song cathartic.
Thanks so much for all your kind words & support. It's much appreciated. I just tried to capture the melancholic tone of the lyric & story being told, while leaving a bit of room for different interpretations.
Condolences on your loss. This song, to me, has always had a unique feel that tells a story of deep sadness, while still remembering the beautiful moments.
How 'bout sum lyrics? Like December Snow That lays in the wood You're gone too soon I knew you should With October skies You brought your love But November came Taking all I have And time, take this sadness from me Time, bring my heart back safely Hold on to warm September Life can be like December Snow With your touch of love in this Autumn world The Sun was bright The songs were heard And maybe fools like me Are under your spell But with leaves that fall I hear you calling Time, take this sadness from me Time, bring my heart back safely Hold on to warm September Life can be like December Snow Time, take this sadness from me Time, bring my heart back safely Hold on to warm September Life can be like December Snow
Yeah. Thanks for posting them. I sort of debated whether or not to do on-screen lyrics as I usually would, but this was one of those rare cases where I just wanted to leave only the visuals on screen to play like a mini-movie.

Wow, you are bringing a lot of beautiful (and some painful) memories. My little sister died on December 21st. Thank you.

Like December Snow
That lays in the wood
You're gone too soon
I knew you should
With October skies
You brought your love
But November came
Taking all I have
And time, take this sadness from me
Time, bring my heart back safely
Hold on to warm September
Life can be like December
Snow
With your touch of love
in this Autumn world
The Sun was bright
The songs were heard
And maybe fools like me
Are under your spell
But with leaves that fall
I hear you calling
Time, take this sadness from me
Time, bring my heart back safely
Hold on to warm September
Life can be like December
Snow
Time, take this sadness from me
Time, bring my heart back safely
Hold on to warm September
Life can be like December
Snow
