Megitsune is one of the few songs that I recommend reacting to the MV first, as it is really cool, but I always recommend the live versions because they sound better.
Yeah I get what you mean, we went reverse on that from live to MV but since the song is good it's enjoyable either way with its own charm in both versions.

This video was released in 2013 - Su-metal was 15, Yuimetal and Moametal both 13 nearly 14.
You already know the meaning of the song and what it is all about from your reaction to the live performance, so no need for me to repeat that all over again.
Most of the video was shot on location at the Asagaya Shinmei Shrine in Tokyo. This has become a place of pilgrimage for BABYMETAL fans visiting Tokyo. The guys at the back waving the traditional instruments about were dancers with the lady who did the fan dance's troupe.
You will never see the Kami Band in the official videos unless they are from live performances - and you will only hear them in the official videos if the word "Live" is in the title (the Kami Band do not record the studio/album versions of the songs).
Oh thanks for new information that we never knew like being a fan of Kami band's performances, didn't know that they don't participate in studio versions. We'll try our best to keep checking out as many different versions as we can. 🤘🏻
@@Stage3Official You're welcome - and the Kami Band's instrumentals along with Su's live vocals are a couple of the main reasons we recommend live performances, they just sound better (but the official videos are all good and worth seeing too of course).

Nice to see you're back with this suggestion, they were quite young in this one but not so young such in Doki Doki Morning or Iine!
This is another BM fans favorite song and is already a classic one they don't wanna leave behind in any of their setlist when performing live such last June at Europe Tour as well at FOX_ FEST Festival last weekend of May when they even opened up the festival with a exclusive remix version and dance called "Akago Kinzoku" dancing with a hand-fan.
This was released in 2013 when having around 13/14 (Yui and MoaMetal) and 15 yo (SuMetal), so is one of their early hits and is full of japanese elements, like the "shamizen", a japanese traditional instrument, and is a party festival song (matsuri).
"Sore" "seiya" and "soya" are typical shouts among Japanese festival and it works like a "c'mon!" or "let's go" for them.
During the breakdown you can hear another typical japanese folk song called "Sakura Sakura" and they're doing a traditional Japanese dance.
The pig squeals are just a backing track and is credited to no one as well many more growlings and harsh vocals you can hear during early era.
In summary, song is about female empowerment and if you follow the lyrics you'll see about it, "Megitsune" means female fox (vixen) and they talk about women acting with a smile in their face while crying inside, just to fit in society or what is expected from them, when they're kind to you they're not trying to make falling in love with them, they're just being their own way, and men tend to confuse and think they're cheating or deceiving like the mythological fox.
"Megitsune" used to be a peyorative term in Japanese culture, pretty much just like around the world, but BM is using this as a way to empower women despite the meaning itself.
When SuMetal is pulling out the "tanto" mic she's saying "maidens shouldn't be underestimated", that refers to a japanese mob film about some boss mafia daughter before attacking someone. During live performance she does something different and looks really cool doing it.
Megitsune is a quintessential BM song and among top favorite songs by fans, SuMetal said she didn't mastered yet, that's why she used to sound check with this song before live concerts.
The origin of the "fox sign" is kinda long to explain but here's a short summary:
The Fox God (Kitsune Sama) is the Metal God who sent these girls (and Kami Band after to help them with the metal sound) to unify the world and set them free from Jpop slavery. The kitsune sign came out by accident around the time they created the group by the girls when trying to imitate the typical metal horn sign they noticed it was similar when doing fox shadow shape, they implemented this as part of the lore, imagery, theme and live concerts, the lore is huge so take your time and keep digging and riding the Foxhole 🦊🤘
Btw they praised for real and made a ritual to the Fox God for this song to be a hit and successful, and thanks to the Fox God this is one of their major hits and favorite BM fan songs. -NotACult- 👀

Fun fact, they did a kawaii overload interview in Germany last month and they said they used part of this "Kon kon kon kon" (fox bark) shout before every BM live show when doing together the fox sign and saying "Babymetaru kon!" lol
