I am so glad I found you. This mantra is so grounding and a good reminder to me that my self isn't bound to any past experiences and trauma, this or that, or any external things. You explain this so well.
I am grateful for your effort and explanation. Even if you are not popular mainstream. You have encouraged me towards the path for which I am destined.
Hi Joshua, thank you for the kind words. You have really hit the spot here because my entire purpose for making videos is to help people to discover their own personal path. Can I ask what you mean by this, the path for which you are destined? If you prefer you can email me, rishi @meditatewithrishi.com
I dont understand ehy you never dod videos on other mantras as well. Not only because you explain everything well, but you are a rare person who properly utters a mantra and thanks to you and your guidance I healed myself once. So please if you come back to you tube can you teach us about other mantras, too?
I have never ever heard the sound So Hum while breathing 9:03, are you serious? My breathing telling me what my essential nature is? In a foreign language? I do not see any need for a (powerful?) mantra or attention to breathing to realize that consciousness is all there is and therefore it must be our essential nature. As in any dream. I am quite amazed you do.
Great explanation of a deeper subject than just chanting. What is the difference between the "Om So Hum" chanting or "So Hum" alone? And if chanting outloud it seems only possible on the exhale?
Hi Piers, not sure about the difference I'm only familiar with so hum, and OM. But yes you're right, chanting loud is only possible on the exhale. So "SO HUM" is done silently with the breath, e.g. so on inhale, hum on exhale. And "OM" can be chanted aloud, on the exhale as a separate practice. You can start with loud OM, then once you feel a bit relaxed and ready to progress to silent, continue with so-hum... and if you feel like observing just the natural breath after then that's fine too.
Hi Rishi confused on doing what kind of meditation, isha kriya, or so hum? Iam suffering from over thinking, anxiety, no patience, delusional disorder, lot of confusion, no confidence. In Ayurveda perspective iam vata body type and facing vata imbalance. Can you please guide me to come out of problems
Hi Gopal. I would love to help however I would need to understand things a bit better to avoid misguiding in any way. Letting you know that I do offer 1-2-1 consultations so if you feel thst would help then you can book at www.meditatewithrishi.com
Hi Kas, hope you're well. Replying to both your comments here. This is a subtler form of om chanting so you can think of it as the next step after verbal om chanting. To make the mind quiet, we need to go step by step. So an example is Step 1 - Verbal OM chanting. Step 2 - Chanting mentally. Step 3. Listening to natural breath, then silence. With practice you will 'know' when to move to the next step as your mind gets calmer. It's natural. As for the course, that video was from one of my older courses, it's no longer available. Good news though, in less than a month Im launching a 7 day How to meditate for beginners series on RUclips - you'll enjoy that, it goes into the details step by step. And if you ever want to chat then consulations can be booked at www.meditatewithrishi.com Peace.
I always thought that it was OM AH SO HUM. Maybe I am mistaken because we all have a intuition in what sounds to reverberate to bring balance. But I like to sound out OM AH SO HUM. Let me know if you feel the same. Peace be with you. Luke
@@aramisra4750 the Hindu's realise that it's the sound that creates reverberations, which has a effect on the whole being. So mantras are only a reverberation to attune to that which the source of this sound emanates. So no I haven't mixed 3 different mantras because mantra is a tool to focus and attune the mind/vehicle to said sound.
U r saying Vedic Philosophy..then saying it's not related to religion..what sir ?? Are u ashamed associate this to Hinduism where it rightfully belongs...i appreciate ur message...but i don't appreciate ur eurocentric views ..in eastern religions.. religion and spirituality coincidence..not like in west religion and spirituality different things... Infact Hinduism is not even a religion it's "sanatan Dharma"

You're welcome!
Amazing explanation.. Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Thank u for your wonderful explanation.
You're most welcome
Very well explained, thank you
You are welcome!
Explicitly defined SO HUM... actually in many of the videos people say it's Shiva mantra thanks for the Clarification...can it be chanted at anytime?
So'Hum
Saha (Sa) which means “that” or "He," and aham, which means “I am.”
So I would say He (God) is me, or I'm a God (part of God)
does it make a difference if you say it in english or any other language?

thanks for the video! I'm curious about the picture behind you.. is that Arjuna with his bow? Can I get that somewhere?
It's Lord Ram, maybe try the website Etsy

Its supposed to be hum on inhalation so on exhalation(saw]
Do you say out loud So Hum or in your head? Seems difficult to chant So out loud while inhaling. Hum is easy.
Hehe good question. Say it in you're head - mentally
@@MeditateWithRishi Thank you!
Do you do this in addition to Om chanting, or is it another option?
