    Brad, you are my favourite on this channel. Your consideration of client, space, functionality and as you say, removing your own architectural ego, is an outstanding credit to you. Bravo.

    The combination of the industrial concrete & wood finish provides such a nice texture contrast. Amazing production as always! ♥

    OMG! Perfect! When Brad Swatz is involved you just know the project is going to be special! And there are so many 'Brad' signatures to be seen! Sliding doors, the pallet and the sense of calm and quality. Brad if you are reading this you are without doubt one of the most influential and forward-thinking Architect of this century. Amazing! Thank you.

    I've got kind of surreal impressions about this place. Because the interior is somehow giving scandinavian vibes. And the outside views are giving strong impression of a tropical location. Feels like scandinavia in tropics.

    Yeah, the title is sooo misleading. It's clearly not a tiny apartment, at least from my perspective living in NYC, in a very similarly-sized space. I think that concrete columns and ceilings, which tend to work well in industrial loft spaces, work so well in this moderately-sized apartment, because the ceiling height is high enough to make it work. Had it been this standard 8 foot-tall ceiling of the 1960s buildings, it would've failed. Plus, these big windows and open water views create so much light that the ceilings don't dominate and darken the space.

    • @mrvk39
      @mrvk39 Год назад +3

      @@lauraoshea1701 actually, i wouldn't even call it small. That open living-dining room area and kitchen are spacious. I get how this apartment doesn't accommodate a family with 2 kids, but for a couple, it's more than enough space.

    Interesting project. It would be usefull to see some plans (before and after) to take a look how space has been transformed. Maybe my next proposal is a bit more difficult to come true, would be to have an estimate of construction cost, we all know that "The Local Project" projects are top quality but I think would be somehow interesting to bring the economic topic into the video.
    PS: Does anyone know where are those light switches from?

    I like it. Why do I not like it so very, very much? Well, it is not the realized use of space or materials left out or utilized. The styling is something I am shooting for in our home. But I couldn't focus on that because of the loud interrupted music. I realize I am approaching the elderly stage. That may well be the problem. I simply can't hear the human voice when it is out of pitch with the music. Both the volume of the music and the voice being the same irritated me. I had to turn off the sound and turn on the captions in order to view the beauty of the apartment. He is a good-looking man and has a pleasant voice. The music though was too loud and competed with what he was speaking. Ah, well, each to his own I suppose.
