0:27 it's _amazing_ that Splinter is still moving after the damage it'd taken, although it was all on the front and sides, away from the engine workings (Stuart mentioned that there was a comfortable gap between the checkerplate sides and the internals). Craig (Charles, that is, not Wakeman) recalls how he asked Hypno-Disc to stop holding back in the heats- I wonder if he regrets it after that fight? This was quite possibly THE most destructive battle in the entire history of robot combat- not even Tombstone in the Battlebots 2015 revival was able to do THIS kind of annihilation to its opponents (although admittedly most of its opponents are sturdier than Splinter- but then again, they didn't even shred Radioactive this badly and Radioactive was made out of _plastic!)_ Dead Metal coming in to apply his saw to the shattered remains of Splinter just looked pathetic by comparison. When Kilallot throws Splinter at the end, it's more like he's tossing a pile of loose parts and scrap than a robot. I like how at 1:42 you can see Stuart Wakeman turn back while holding up the controller for Splinter, presumably to face the in-booth cameraman- bet you he's saying "I don't suppose you'd give me five quid for this? We don't have any use for it any more." Incidentally, Splinter II would get revenge on Hypno-Disc in the first Extreme Annihilator, where it was the robot that pitted Hypno-Disc in the 3rd round. That must have felt sweet. Overall, that was another really great battle in this great finals series- although for a rather different reason than most. What a fantastic fight between X-Terminator 2 and Wild Thing! X-Terminator have made improvements to the robot since the heats, but despite having a pretty damn good robot they just can't match the sheer skill of Nick Adams. Look at the control when Wild Thing finally toppled X-Terminator! And then they made a fatal mistake by trying to use the srimech at the wrong time, causing it to come out when the side wasn't lying against the floor and get bent when Dead Metal bumps them. Another good attempt by X-Terminator, but this would be their best performance until they finally managed to do better in Series 7. This is the 4th knockout out of 4 matches so far (in contrast to the 1st semifinal where the only knockouts were by Chaos 2) but it's no less exciting. Watching Isabelle's eyes go wide with horror at 9:56 and hearing Nick mutter "oh no" when Craig tells them who they're up against is a hilarious moment, arguably the biggest "oh crap!" moment in all of Robot Wars. Let's face it, after what happened to Splinter, who _wouldn't_ react like that? Which makes the result even more satisfying.
Actually, as you pointed out in your comment on that one video of that Annihilator, it was Pussycat who stole the kill on Hypno-Disc from Splinter. True, Splinter pushed Hypno-Disc toward the pit, but it was Pussycat who delivered the coup de grace. So Splinter didn't quite get the revenge it wanted. Though it did take out its frustration on Pussycat by shoving them into the pit as well.
Hypno-Disc is one my most favorite robots of all time. Poor Splinter but that is what happens when you fight Hypno-Disc with weak armour but it is also very funny to watch other robots fall to the mercy of Hypno-Disc!
Hypno-Disc's victory here was awesome, but Splinter does deserve some more credit yeah. Sure the pitting in the Annihilator was down to Pussycat as well, but Splinter did immobilise Thermidor 2 in the competition, and it looked so great in it's Series 4 Heat. Splinter was well controlled and pretty unique, just a shame about the weak armour and lack of Srimech.
I love Hypno Disc. It had no mercy what so ever and the team loved a bit of metal mayhem. I heard they let Hypno Disc loose on an old filing cabinet they didn't need about a week ago.
+UncreativeUser182 Haha true! Just watched that fight myself to check it out because my knowledge on everything after Series 4 is a bit rubbish. Let's just say I have very mixed feelings when it comes to small children being in Robot Wars teams...
I know the Unedited Battle did at least exist on here for awhile, where they did indeed get pitted Good on the Weightmans for not being Too gutted though.
In their heat they admitted that the lance was primarily for self-righting. Any time they used it as a weapon was purely opportunistically, I have to think.
People say X-Terminator had bad driving in their fight but remember Killalot had a hydraulic leak in the previous battle. The stuff was all over the arena floor and Wild Thing has much bigger wheels than X-Terminator. More traction made all the difference.
Son of Whyachi is 10 times capable of destruction than Hypno-Disc. 1 it weighs twice as heavy as Hypno Disc and the effect it can cause on 1/4 inch titanium compared to the cuts and graises on Wheely Big Cheese's titanium armour. It should of be Hypno-Disc eating it's own heart out otherwise that disc is comming off!
+intergalactic92 Credit where credit is due: Splinter did have the right idea (up until they hit the disc at the wrong angle), but how often are you going to see a robot get destroyed that thoroughly?
i always kinda hoped they'd put wild thing against panic attack, grudge match from series 3, though i forget if it was the semis or the heats when thing 2 met panic attack
Actually, it was Pussycat. Splinter almost pitted Hypnodisc but Pussycat swooped in and stole the kill and ended up getting pitted by Splinter instead. Besides, Hypnodisc was already immobolised from 2 rounds of being ganged up on so it was hardly a great achievement by Splinter to almost push them in the pit.
what an 18 rated robot gore-fest! Hypno Disc's finest moment, did Splinter come back in Robot Wars? I'd be god damned. X-Terminator were quite shocking here. 9:57 that face when you think "shit, we're done for" even the nervous reaction from audience said it all
It's surprising that Hypnodisc didn't get more bad press about taking apart Splinter like that. I would have liked to have seen them lay off once it was obvious that Splinter wasn't able to compete anymore. I say that from the perspective of the Splinter team; their robot was decimated to the point where it probably wasn't salvageable. Bad sportsmanship from Hypnodisc there in my opinion. And just to clarify, I think Hypnodisc are awesome, love the robot and the lads.
They usually try too. They keep smacking their opponent around until they are 100% sure they are immobilized as it causes as little damage to the expensive internal components of their opponents machines as possible.
"you're up against hypnodisk next"
*face drops*
Can't say i blame her, its like fighting a tiger with a toothpick
Hypno Disc destroyed Splinter. From Joe. X
I have to say, Splinter put up a valiant and brave effort charging face on. Pushed them straight into the CPZ. Great effort 🤘
But Hypno-Disc wrecked Splinter. From Joe. X

Absolute awesome battle with hypnodisc and splinter
Splinter was pitted after Hypno Disc wrecked it. From Joe. X
I can imagine: *Robot comes to the back in a million pieces* "What happened to you guys?" "Hyponodisc :("
Hypno-Disc is one my most favorite robots of all time. Poor Splinter but that is what happens when you fight Hypno-Disc with weak armour but it is also very funny to watch other robots fall to the mercy of Hypno-Disc!
A bad draw for poor Splinter. From Joe. X
HYPNO-DISC vs SPLINTER was like HYPNO-DISC vs ROBOGEDDON
It was Completely Destroyed in the end before The House Robots got involved
Hypno-Disc was 2nd in series 3, and 4th in series 4-5 of robot wars. From Joe. X
0:46 that was really uncalled for.
All that's left of splinter are a lot of tiny splinters... man that thing really got destroyed.
Scrapped
"..you're against the hypno-disc" - her eyes: "omg"
Splinter was mashed by Hypno Disc. From Joe. X
Every battle with Hypnodisc comes with a free trash bag to take your robot home in
Except the odd occasion if it wasn't badly damaged. From Joe. X
Hypno-Disc's victory here was awesome, but Splinter does deserve some more credit yeah. Pussycat bit Hypno-Disc's right wheel arch, and in came Shunt with his axe in the CPZ. Bang!, it was all over for Hypno-Disc!. From Joe. X
hahaha Hypno Disc literally picked apart Splinter!!! best robot in the wars aside from razer and chaos 2
You forgot Firestorm the second most successful robot on Robot Wars just behind Razer.
stop! stop! he's already dead!
Let the sentients in. From Joe. X
hypno disc is godlike man, shreds everything
Ah finally, my daily dose of destruction.
I love Hypno Disc. It had no mercy what so ever and the team loved a bit of metal mayhem. I heard they let Hypno Disc loose on an old filing cabinet they didn't need about a week ago.
From Oxford. From Joe. X
Also 101. Already seen that because of the shape and armor hypnodisc couldn't do any damage to it
rest in fucking pieces splinter
All three hundred of them.
Many pieces
At 0:49 the battery of Splinter actually falls out. You can see it at the right.
It flew out. From Joe. X
@BamzookiMan130 No, Stealth was series 3. The other in series 4 was V-Max.
0:50 What a brave camera man.
@lazarsmiljanic1996 I know. 1st was Stealth, then Predator and then Splinter.
@athull08 Stealth's battery was ripped out as well, you know. But ah well, another one to put in the list.
You know you've got wrecked when Craig Charles says "Don't be too upset" 2:51
+Simon Morson Ha, you can't blame the Splinter team for being gutted but they handled it really well, considering what just happened.
+Ross Hartley thats true, they put up a good fight even when they lost their shield which takes a great deal of courage when facing Hypno Disc.
+Simon Morson Yeah, exactly! Always liked Splinter (always was an axe guy) and I thought Craig Weightman's actually an underrated driver too.
+UncreativeUser182 Haha true! Just watched that fight myself to check it out because my knowledge on everything after Series 4 is a bit rubbish. Let's just say I have very mixed feelings when it comes to small children being in Robot Wars teams...
+UncreativeUser182 Yeah I understand that. Joe Watts did annoy me though, admittedly.
You know, everyone likes to mock Splinter, but remember that they did come back to pit Hypno-Disc during the Annihilator.
I know the Unedited Battle did at least exist on here for awhile, where they did indeed get pitted
Good on the Weightmans for not being Too gutted though.
that was the first time Wild Thing actually used its lance arm to flip over something
A bent self righting arm eliminated X-Terminator. From Joe. X

Don't know why they bothered lowering the pit for Splinter - they would have had to sweep it into the pit with a broom!!!
Poor Splinter. Gutsy performance but I don't think there was another robot in the classic series of RW that got completely destroyed like that
He was stripped of it's clothes. From Joe. X
Not even going to comment on how Splinter deflected the attacks early on? No Splinter did nothing right, it was all Hypnodisc, Hypnodisc, Hypnodisc.
+intergalactic92 Credit where credit is due: Splinter did have the right idea (up until they hit the disc at the wrong angle), but how often are you going to see a robot get destroyed that thoroughly?
... Lets wait for the HD v Atomic match.....
i always kinda hoped they'd put wild thing against panic attack, grudge match from series 3, though i forget if it was the semis or the heats when thing 2 met panic attack
They met in the first round of the semis of Series 3
did they sweep up splinter with a broom after what is left?
@ 9:55 wild thing won the battle with X-terminator that's the good news but craig is about to give the bad news to the adams family
It's like in Terminator 2 when Robert Patrick gets a grenade lodged in him and set off. Deformed. Destroyed. RIP.
@ 9.56 bad news for the wild thing team.
He lost on the judge's vote. From Joe. X
Who's in control of that flipper? The stinger team?
1 of the 3 musketeers. From Joe. X
well well well very close fight we gave to go to the judges on that one... only joking.
Still a moral victory though.
I wish that Mortis was destroyed as bad as Splinter
10:21 Was Craig trying to impersonate Andrew Sachs?
Not even joking Hypno v Splinter is kinda hard to watch lol
Sucks that hypnodisc didn't ever seem to go after a house robot
@ 1:46 it was close until the scoop is gone
The X-Terminator driver was awful in that fight.
why does death metal a little tiny cut into this bunch of scrap?
what an 18 rated robot gore-fest! Hypno Disc's finest moment, did Splinter come back in Robot Wars? I'd be god damned. X-Terminator were quite shocking here. 9:57 that face when you think "shit, we're done for" even the nervous reaction from audience said it all
Ya they fought in series 5 and 6 they added an axe and had a stronger build
hypnodisc should be a houserobot...
Killalot got dechested
@pepegauley2 true but satisfying
@ 1:45 close battle my gran can judge better it was one way traffic
It's surprising that Hypnodisc didn't get more bad press about taking apart Splinter like that. I would have liked to have seen them lay off once it was obvious that Splinter wasn't able to compete anymore.

They usually pull back, but they were getting pressured by the audience, and notably Craig to keep going and destroy
