    A proper trip down memory lane. Thanks. How did whiteburnshank look Graham? It was a crying shame when the forest company took the building off the trust. There was a lot of great work being done there with young people from SE Norrthumberland and beyond. Life changing. That forest where you kipped was an archery, bushcraft and team building area 8 years ago. The flat land in front of WBS was levelled by Masons of Rothbury to allow the youngn's to camp there. Great times.

    I looked after that area for a few years on behalf of the owner, we regularly found old tents, rubbish, beer bottles excrement etc and the lodge itself was broken into .
    I'm guessing you didn't have permission from the landowner either and so although I am sure you are a responsible wild camper I'm afraid you are probably encouraging less responsible " idiots" to do the same. Perhaps it's a pastime best kept to yourself.

    • @grahamswildcamping
      @grahamswildcamping  3 месяца назад +1

      Hi John, you raise some good points and I'm not sure I have a completely satisfactory answer. Firstly thank you for assuming I'm a responsible wild camper- that is indeed the case. Respecting the land, leaving no trace and always being willing to talk and engage with those working on the land and move on if asked, are important to me.
      I like to think through my videos that I'm setting an example to camp responsibilitly and anyone who is inspired to do so through my videos would do the same. It's a fine line to walk though and I'm not naive enough to suggest that a few irresponsible folk don't slip through.
      I understand the building has now been sold (at quite a good price) and I even considered it myself.
      That being the case, I'm sure the new owner, with new plans, will not want people (even responsible ones) camping near and It's now on my list of places not to go, and I shall be encouraging the circle of wild campers whom I know to do the same.
      All the best.
