Just made one using colored origami paper and it looks really cool :). Thanks for sharing the tutorial on how to make this. I'm an intermediate level but I had to use tape as assistance to make sure pieces wouldn't fall out while in assembly. Also, a tip for those making this: when assembling, the little triangle you fold in the beginning should be fixed towards the end to where the middle crease of the triangle meets the crease on the paper and that will insure you it will fit perfectly :)
haha. I actually found it helpful to use a toothpick on the locks. If you unfold the pocket you can use a toothpick to pull out the little triangle part of the pocket far enough for the flap of the other module to insert under. Then you fold back that triangle and close the pocket to form a strong lock. I was stupid enough to try this model for the first time on foil paper, but I got lucky and did it alright. I assume you made a lid for this with slightly smaller or larger paper?
I do like most of your tutorials because they are easy to fold along with and spare me a lot of time by folding from CP but this one is really nuts. In the end i was able to achieve the finish but i can pretty much figure that many people didn't have had a small idea how to complete this model because you used precreased papers so the people were left alone to do the math on their own at the circled points folds. I would be really nice to see you folding from blanc paper next time ;)
I like your vid! You make it look understandable with the hand motion and the text - {which I guess some people can't read if they are complaining you need to talk}...but I guess you can't do this with thicker paper, right? TFS!
I've been lookin at this model for a while now...better give it a shot. Though I don't think I understand the point of the fold you made at 5:00, it seems that's what causes the flap to not fit in the pocket very well. Oh well, thanks for the video :)
the first corner fold (the top left) goes to some seemingly random point (i thing that's what soyojos meant). That isn't from a fold! it seems the top of that partial crease line would extend to about 1/4 fold?
love it its great. for you dumb people who say your origami nerds or whatever and you dont get it, its your own fault. the instructions are very clear.
@lanmind1024 Start the first end of the fold right at the left edge of the paper where the second fold begins and then position the top corner of the paper so it comes down right on top of the line of the first fold. Crease. Or use a compass and center it at the left edge of the second horizontal fold, draw an arc starting from the top of the page and where it intersects the first fold is the point you want for the corner to meet.

COOL Y'a juste à l'assemblage, quelques petites pointes de pâte à fixe, parce que je suis un petit joueur ^^ Formidable, j'ai enfin réussi à plier un truc qui ressemble àquelque chose :-D
pufff it took me some time to join together the modules but i did it. Thanks for the tutorial but i agree with everybody else, that's a little confusing.. i did it because i took the help of maths.. but to begin with u should explain where the first point is located, to make the diagonal possible. Nevertheless thanks!
The Pros. and Cons. about this video.... Pros. -The box was very cool looking and fun! Cons. -You should have had WAY better music! -You should have said at the beginning all the materials you needed instead of towards the middle. -You said it was a BOX not a TOP.... there's a difference! -You should talk more, sometimes your instructions were confusing. That's all I gotta say about that.
@bubblesforCK my opinion is that his order of explaining this.. is just wrong.. maybe u can find ur Points by if you got your paper in 3 parts u turn it and fold it in the middle then fold the other half in 3 parts again then u can find ur point because on the first line is where the point is of folding all.. if you understand what i mean (1:10) my english is bad -.-;

like the lines showing the creases/folds...also, better to see them on plain paper than printed paper. Thanx!

Can u use origami paper instead of that paper?
I like how its called a "christmas" star box, when it resembles the Star of David. Does anybody else think thats ironic?

what are the dimensions of paper to be used for this?
@lanmind1024

It'll take me a week just to do one corner!
i liked that!

i made it too, but it doesn't look exactly like the first ones. and the modules are not locked :D.
The Pros. and Cons. about this video....
Pros.
-The box was very
cool looking and fun!
Cons.
-You should have had WAY better music!
-You should have said at the beginning all the materials you needed instead of towards the middle.
-You said it was a BOX not a TOP.... there's a difference!
-You should talk more, sometimes your instructions were confusing.
That's all I gotta say about that.
oh wow, maybe I can use this as a shuriken
The music sounds like Sims-music, but on Sims they CHANGE songs, they don't play the same song OVER and OVER again -.- Great tutorial though ;P
I made a pretty awesome snowball..not that i'm showing off or anything! lol
@bubblesforCK my opinion is that his order of explaining this.. is just wrong.. maybe u can find ur Points by if you got your paper in 3 parts u turn it and fold it in the middle then fold the other half in 3 parts again then u can find ur point because on the first line is where the point is of folding all.. if you understand what i mean (1:10) my english is bad -.-;

A pesar del idioma, me salió, pero esa es la caja, me imagino que la tapa la haré igual o unos milimetros más grande para que cierre.

That's is a dodecagon. I'm just too much of a nerd :P

was it easy?...i want to do it but it looks hard!!
great! but music is kinda annoying
i might give it a try. 5/5
@xia6849 your very welcome.... Xp
this is very easy
deberias poner las medidas de cada punto para que los dobleces salgan iguales que el tuyo
eu fis só que eu não entendi aquela parate que se setara duas pessas
@Chiavuiful its easy :/ i think barbabelaatje is the best teacher :D
TALLLLLLLLKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
this is so hard but you have talent but too hard for me.haha
ur tutorial is so confusing.....with all that pre-made lines n creases.. i just cant follow. but ur origami star box is so pretty.
@Sh0rtytrAng all u need to do is cut a rectangle paper to a square
