But changed a little Robin Glynn's design as I wanted a lid and I don't like folding paper in thirds ;)

absolutely beautiful tutorial, clear, easy to follow and good timing,
the trickiest part was definetly twisting it around into a flower, but i was so freaking proud of myself in the end! Thanks so much for this fantastic video! :D
probley one of the best origami people on RUclips
Brilliant Video, and I loved the music - it fitted in with what you were doing. fabulous box, must give it a try.
so beautiful and actually rather simple! stick at it, people, you'll get there! :-)
Explained very well, gonna do this again for christmas!! Thank you!!
Good tutorial. I like this giftbox. its different from others I've seen that weren't as easy to make as this. The overlap fold to create the "walls" of the box reminds me of a fold used in a paper airplane I used to make as a kid that basically makes it like a flying tube. Without my prior overlap knowledge, this might have been a bit trickier if I were new to origami but even so, its not that complex to understand. Once again thanx for this vid. Kudos!
i watched this video quite a time ago................ but now i know whom to give it ..... its the end of school and all my frnds and i are going to give each other a gift just as a gift of remembrance..... so i'm making lots of these now !! thnx a lot !!
wow thanku so much!!!! its way better than the 1 in my origami book of boxes cz in tht 1 u need 2 make modules and insert them! thanx again!!!!
Me tomo un tiempito hacerla, pero me llené de paciencia y el resultado justificó el tiempo invertido, queda bella!!! gracias por la buena explicación!!
your good in teaching.... NICE WORK!! I ABSOLUTELY LIKED IT ....!!
I got it right away :) good description, i like your style!
Excellent video 5* thanks for the clarity of your instructions. I usually do a dollar bill box. Keep up the great videos. THANKS!!!!!!!
ok so i can make a bunch of origami stuff but i've never seen someone do that AMAZING!!!!!!??????
other than the glare off the paper sometimes, this made sense and the folds really help it kinda make itself! can you give preportions for how to make it smaller? I have square paper so need to make it rectangle...???
Thanks for posting btw!
Awesome :D.I finished it and it looks very very very good.Done it for a friend.Thank you :D.
I just did it as you made it! really cool! Thanks a bunch :)
OMG!!! thx so much at first it looked so hard but now after practice my box looks so cute!!!
Man that was too easy haha, up to the next challenge. Make the rose!
@Dokelta Its the same as the one showed to make the box, start from rectangular sheet, fold it to 16 small rectangles, but the long perpendicular rectangle, instead of folding one, fold both on each side, then you fold the small rectangles diagonally just like making that box. After all the creases, it will start to curl. hold each end of the paper, twist it and start pushing the ends to the centre. you'll see the spiral forming and know what to do.
This is a cool box, I would like to make this eventually :]
-Isabel and Sharon :)
P.S I love that red bow! :D
YAYAYAY I MADE IT!!!!! IT LOOKS REALLY NICE KEKEKEKE. THANK YOU SOOO MUCH FOR THE VID!!! :D
THANK U SO MUCH FOR THE VIDEO!!!! THE RESULT WAS SO PRETTY!!!! it was a little small, though...
It's a bit tricky but possible, thanks for your very good tutorial
yes, i did got stuck at it...xD But thanks for answering. I changed the fold to another direction and it worked fine. I've got a nice box now! ^^
Very cool! I wanna make that for someone on their birthday :)
I just finished doing mine i thought it would be a lot harder considering some of the comments but it really wasn't that bad, and i'm no origami or kiragami expert i guess it takes natural skill :) thanks XD
how awesome...XD i love this :D you make it so simple too! for my first time it is kinda sloppy...that trick part is a little hard to see...but i got it. x3
Omg! I made like.. 10 of these!!! Thank you!!!
Lovely model, thank you for the tutorial! When I´d done it ten times, it finally looked really nice.;) Now for variations of size, colour and patterns´- I´m off ... (beware of addiction!)
Thanks a lot, it helped me really much.
Totally cute and cool!
I love it!
5/5
I tried making this box for christmas, it took me about 8 or 9 papers before I finally gave up. That's one christmas mood gone to waste, and there are more easier ways of making this ya know!!!!!!!
YAATHAAA!.....i did it, took me 30min but i did it!...i feel soo proud
kool!!! this looks really nice! i'm gonna try to make one and put a necklace in it or sumthin 4 someone do u know if there is paper that is this sizethat is like decorated or something to make this wid?
I make it!!! Thanks so much for this video!!!
I tried doing this but with a hexagon instead of a pentagon. It worked really well and it looks a little more pretty than the pentagon one. Just have to overlap two of the flaps instead of three.
FANTASTIC...VERY GOOD....THANKS FRIEND
@soulrock40 Give you a hind: try solidifying along all the all the folds first. Then, give a little pressure and TWIST (not fold. Twist) on all the sides. It would flatten itself and form the pentagon immediately, like magic.
@barbabellaatje did you just put this song here to make me feel sophisticated while i continue to still play with paper?
This is a great project. Thank you for sharing. FYI - the paper size does matter. A4 paper works great; US Letter does not work - the twist will not lie flat (haven't tried Legal paper).
I did it, looks fantastic! thanks :)
Ooh this was pretty simple!!! Except for the folding the bottom into that "spring" thing.. I almost gave up right then lol
I think it's very well explained, clear and slow enough. If you think it was too fast, use the two bar icon that appears under the video after you click on the triangle. It's called PAUSE and you guys are dumb xD
suuuuper easy and you get something special :)
i took over half an hour to do this,
i wanted to give up, but i keep telling myself, have patience, if she can do it, why cant i?
and finally, i did it. THANKS ALOT!
Did it! :D Aldo, it "suddenly" the diagonals went into another direction, but who cares, I did it :DD
@TheCupcakePerson A mountain fold is when the fold is sticking up from a side view,(like a mountain) and a valley fold is when it is folded downwards (like a ditch)
It came out so cute! :)
wow thats really good and really cool!! im gonna try that if i can do it!! haha
very well explained
thank you for making this tutorial :D
@salsalization yeah like on the spring part, once you're done doing those little folds until the bottom is in a twist, all you gotta do is push one of the flaps from the twisty part and that star shape thing will form. not a great explanation but i tried. (:
it is great! congratulations!!! thanks for all... i loved! '-'
I managed to make it..but am wondering how to make this box bigger, so that I can put more things in it? any other options? thanks for this vid...it's really interesting!
omg I actually did it.
Kept on watching it over and over and randomly trying it and got lucky. It's pretty bad in comparison to yours but at least it's a start.
i did it .. that was hard but .. i enjoy it .. thank u
wow this is amazing tah! and im not quite sure how to do the 'tricky part' maybe tell us EXACTLLY how you are doing t :)
Come on people don't give up!! I've made an oragami gift box but it took multiples tries and was very frustrating. With each try everything began to click and going right. Take your time, pause and rewind the video as much as you need to and especially have patience...alot of it :)
this is the best boxi had ever seen 5/5 stars
hi, this is awesome, and the origami rose is also pretty cool! but before i start making the rose, i have got a question. i made this box starting from an A4 sheet (like in this video), now i want to make a rose, that fits in this box, how big should my paper be for my rose? greets!
wow. this is really easy! thanks. i got it a one try:D
Nice job! This is realy great!!!
U can't do it with cards right? I just can't seem to get the spring to settle down nicely
Well actually it isnt so hard, i did it and it turned out pretty good....maybe ill try the rose 2, but first i need to make another one but then ill use another sort....Thnx for putting it on youtube. (i did it in half an hour orso..) ps i like the way masterofdage speaks, cuz theshadealex had a horrible way of speaking(he probably has his reasons though..) Bye bye, Merry X-Mas and a Happy New Year !!!! :3
@VampireIceMusic I used printing paper and it came out GREAT!
very nice! ur vids are the best! How do u make the rose?
divino!!! voy a intentarlo, por ahora no me salió, pero voy a tratar de nuevo!!
Is there a way to assemble a rose inside so that it's stable inside the box?
hard but i can do it! thanks for the great tutorial!
good job, but how did you do the rose inside the box??
OoO Esta muy bonita la cajita, creo que lo voy a intentar jejejejejej!!!!!
thank you so much! i made it on my first try!
it is not quite hard. thanks for dis video i learned something new.
thats some cool stuff ima going to try it out
@JDBlover1510 That's the kind of paper they used, isn't it?
jahhhhhhhhhhhhhh i done it xD
im so happy
but the rose is a snowball ):
thanks from Germany ;D
@enokibun all you have to do is fold the creases and then at the last one. Just open all the flaps and Voila. i think
@MsGraci98 I don't think it matters a lot, all you need is the lower part to be a bit smaller so one can fit in another.
beautiful!!! i`m gonna try it out!!
if you look closely in the minute 5:39 the fold change position, like if he make another one with the folds to the other side. or reversed the camera
Imma try this.
love da music :)
@TheANiMeCrAzY21 I had that problem too... you have to flip it so its mirrored to how youre holding it... So pretty much hold it with your right hand and twist it with your left. Hope that helps~
@TheCupcakePerson It all really depends on what side your looking at it from. Picture this ">" as a folded piece of paper. If you look at it from the left, where it folds inward, that's considered a valley fold because of the "valley " that is formed. If you look at it from the right, where it folds out, it's considered a mountain fold, because of the "mountain" that is formed.
from folding a few kawasaki roses it seems it would fit if you made it a slighlty smaller piece of paper.please note i havent folded this yet but its what it appears to be.
wait... okay.. so um... which paper does she start out with first? the bottom or the top?
oh! cute! I did it! thanks very much much!!!
DAMN I THOUGHT I WAS GOOD AT ORIGAMI TILL I FOUND THIS CHANNEL
beautiful works, thanks so much
q genial!!!
me ha qedado un no se que,,, pero sirve de cajita jajaja
super,, solo q no soy paciente,, bn,,
te felicito!!
So then there is a way to securely attach it inside the box? Can you tell me how? :) Thanks.
This video should really warn you to make VERY good creases on the diagonals.
@rainbowwithrain so you crumpled it up?
@callum114thebest But in the description it said "Origami Pentagonal Box" and at 4:41 .. and I highly doubt she said that.. she doesn't talk in these videos!
very nice video...keep it up man
@kosselammm You ARE the best man, and I love you!!!!!
you are a origami genius
how do you change the thingy on the top left of ur video? (u kno, urs says "how to make these :)" with the models under it) plz awnser
I did it! :)) thank you very much! =)
Thx im making it for my family for christmiss :) Thank you for sharing
P.S commeters pause every step >:O
nice box i made one and....i just like your box
5/5 stars!!. I also made a base for it because without it the box can't stay in it's place.. it just rolls out. The trick, for those who want a base too, is to make the "tricky part" but to not fold the papel pentagon inside it self. Instead it you must press in the middle of the pentagon from the outside to the inside, to make the it curve it self. Then it can stay in a place without rolling. Excuse my english, not good at all.
The last Step,(sorry for my bad English) is divided to two stages, when you make the first stage(5:56-6:18), stop to making it at 6:18 and do directly the second stage(6:18-8:20)
