Finding vulnerability sexy is a red flag in my opinion. I'm not talking about the willingness for a person to open up, I'm talking about someone being at the mercy of others.

Well, there's a difference between showing vulnerability and having an outright mental breakdown.

Yes, but neither is sexy, they're both something that should be handled carefully and appropriately.

I am struggling to accept that my ex said that he is attracted to traumatized women!
I fell for him after he started making his moves flirting with me. We dated for over one year, he dumped me like I was garbage and I am at lost if I was only one more of his preys.
He is a trauma expert mental health counselor. I am hurting and angry for being so stupid.
He was mine and my children therapist before.

Mental illness is a fashion for so many. It’s a window into controlling them and having them never leave, because they’re so broken.

I think it is all part of the dichotomies between fiction and reality; the harshness and dark emptiness mental illness can lead to is quite hard to portray, maybe more so by tv and cinema as art forms…i feel literature can often come very close…but it’s also an obvious trend as psychology, therapy and labeling have become more well known…a development that has sped up in the last 50 years maybe?

I mean that wasn’t the point of that speech. It’s not that crazy is sexy. It’s that it’s marketable in this weird glamorized version of society we currently live in where people actively fake it. On some level this speaks to an incredible form of acceptance of it in general as opposed to prior generations. But more importantly in this specific instance it speaks to imperfection and identifying with a less polished target more than the on the pedestal one. A lot of people are killing the show for this speech. But honestly it’s just holding up a mirror and saying something that is ugly but 100 percent true right now.

Eh, the whole speech was “a girl like Jocelyn would never fuck you unless she was mentally I’ll” not really that she is unpolished and that marketable. she’s actually saying she’s broken and that average men can imagine her fucking them because of that, and that’s marketable.

That doesn't mean it's not hurtful also.
We aren't a freaking gimmick. We are being mocked, don't you care? You aren't just another sheep, are you? Part of the problem?
One cog of the machine that would rather just accept how things are, even if it's f-ked up.??

No shes saying its sexy she didnt refute it dig deeper into what she said shes saying it because the show is trying TOO hard to be reckless and edgy

    • @michaeln3044
      @michaeln3044 Год назад

@@likhwezititus nope. That’s a lazy surface understanding pure and simple. But what’s more off putting is ur inability to even consider the argument as laid out as the variables discussed make it pretty clear what’s being said here.

@@michaeln3044NOPE. You may have that profound notion but the writers clearly didn't you know when the show was facing critique the very actor who said all that bs said and I quote "I wish all the feminists and rape victims would respectfully stfu" this show would bring up interesting topics then instead of digging deeper would just throw in a meaningless sex scene or unnecessary nudity. Playing with mental illnesses or using it for your pornographic excuse of a show I'm sorry is something I'm never going to be okay with, no matter how "artsy" you try and look at it. If used properly to refute or tackle these things then yes but THIS SHOW the show that claims "being rape-y is attractive" isn't doing what you want it to do or think it's trying to do, its TRYING to be edgy. My acknowledging that doesn't make me lazy or 'devoid of artistic Intellect" it makes me a sane person with a functioning brain, eyes and ears. It's very telling that you'd find my inability to defend what's being said here "MORE OFF PUTTING" than the entrie show in itself that's basically a compilation of a women being tortured, crying and going through pain then attempting to say "sh was in control the whole time" which on its own is a contradiction and joke to ALL victims everywhere man and women.

Depicting reprehensible behavior is not an endorsement of reprehensible behavior.

Thank you. It sounds like a compliment to be called "sexy" but then you think about it and you realize how actually careless, naive, and hurtful it is and everything else you said. I wonder if she regrets her words. Even if she does, that won't change the fact that she thinks it still. And she's a person with impact, otherwise we wouldn't be hearing about it, and that's scary, because some of her fans (no one I wanna know) will actually start believing that mental illness is a good thing.... or treat it like it's some sort of gimmick. 😒👿😶
Sigh, there's never an emoji for how I empty and angry I feel.
Anyway, again. Thank you for giving us a voice. I wish the idol would watch your channel.
Have you ever heard of Sam Vaknin?
