      Faisal,
      Hello brother from another mother!
All fingers or digits are not the same length, in every faith there are extremely well behaved respectful, law abiding citizens. Does not matter their what is their ethnicity , race, culture or religion.
This is what they have been taught!! Nonetheless, to make my point, I want to make you aware that in this world there I very mean and bad people who will not hesitate to chop your head in name of their religious fervor or prejudice. So let us rejoice what transpired among those nice people including that elderly bigot, who was more interested in making his point but the police lady and the turbaned man handled that conversation extremely well.
      May god bless everyone.

Well apart from here is just one of many examples of them using the dagger to try and kill someone. In this case he attacked a woman and tried to kill her. She was left needing 100 stitches. He happened to see her in the street and of course he had a knife but it is illegal for the woman to carry a knife to protect herself, so she nearly died.
So we allow them to have knives but we cannot have them and then they try and kill women in the street. Acceptable? www.expressandstar.com/news/crime/2016/07/01/sikh-who-stabbed-woman-with-ceremonial-dagger-in-neighbour-dispute-is-jailed-for-six-years/

Respect to the Sikh gentleman in how he conducted himself here. This is anothet example of the beauty of the Sikh religion. I'd say 99% of the white UK population who are aware of the difference between Sikhi and other religions have nothing but respect and warmth towards the Sikh community. At the risk of being controversial here, the problem the elderly gentleman has is very clear to, he is making the mistake that many folk do ie confusing Sikhi with Islam which beggars thr question of why many people feel very uncomfortable with Islam. When you remove the apologists arguments, reference to western foreign policy, taking verse out of context etc etc and you are left with islam as an ideology then I feel that people should indeed be uncomfortable with it AND should feel confident in voicing that. Not so with Sikhi, to my knowledge Sikhi never mandated many of the things that Islam did, even when Sikhs where being pursecuted by Islam and the British empire. The actions of individuals then maybe but as an ideology then no.

I respect and support a sikh right to carry the kirpan and the karra if people knew the reasons why it's allowed and why the English should never infringe on these rights goes back 150 years when English and Sikhi fought side by side many times, especially during the Battle of Saragarhi where nearly 200,000 sikh gave there lives to support the British troops campaign. I feel the Sikh is as much a brother to The English as a Scotsman or a Welsh man.

We may not have the same blood but that doesn't mean we are not related, we are all part of the same community and have respect for everyone in the whole world. The kirpan is not a weapon for harm or killing, it is for blessing. It is part of our uniform. I dont wear a kirpan but id love to. Im only 12 years old but as i get older, i hope i get the chance to wear a kirpan. It is not for fashion. My family doesn't wear a kirpan but that doesn't mean i cant. I respect that. We should all understand each other. I respect this youtuber and i love how he is spreading awareness to Sikhi to help dispel misconceptions! Thank you for reading this and i hope you have a blessed day!

+Swedish Meatball I am fully aware of that. British Colonialists have used Sikh men in their military as far back as Afghan-Anglo wars and as recent as the WW2. This is one of the reasons that Sikh community got certain privileges in Great Britain much like the Ahmadiya community which was aided by the British intelligence to divide and weaken subcontinent muslims. the Muslims were the first ones to resist colonization. the historic battle of plassey marks the beginning of colonial india. Muslims would never side with the British whom they considered betrayers of trust. the British won't trust Muslims either because prior to them coming the power lay in the hands of Muslims and they may try to reclaim it. add to the fact of the Muslim Christian wars, the crusades, etc. if you put things into perspective you will come to conclude why people acted the way they did.

I hope no Sikhs watching this video think the views of this old man are common in Britain. They are NOT.
The Sikhs are our brothers and sisters here. I'm very impressed how the speaker kept his cool.
An old timer such as the old man should be the first to appreciate the heroic efforts of the Sikhs for Britain in the war.
Normally I'd have sympathy for a misguided old man like that, but I expect he was just as ignorant when he was younger.

I am a Sikh myself. If I put myself in other shoes, Even if i know about 5Ks, I would still have a question back of mind, Why you can carry Kirpan and I can't carry a dagger? Bringing legislation in other countries and having some special status, well then also expect people will go against it. These people are way tolerant then us. Instead of wasting your time on the streets, put you time in fixing flaws in our religion and community. 1st thing lets work on Separating Politics from our Religion.

    • @relentlessrock
      @relentlessrock 9 лет назад +2

+WorldChronicle I support your view. Religion doesn't need to start governing one's life. I know salesmanship, and I see how this Sikh brother continues to sell the free food distribution in Gurudwara, as a hallmark, to others unaware of Sikhism in many of his videos (ofcourse reflecting alongside the other great virtues). But within this very one act that he so eagerly keeps pointing out to, what greatness I see over and above the free food, infact even over and above the fact that the consumers can be of any religion, is that even those, who service and volunteer towards this great task of free food distribution within a Gurudwara, can be of any religion. No one is kept out from engaging in this positive karma. That is great and may be something unique to Sikhism.
I am a Hindu. Post seeing this video I noticed a bit of hypocrisy. Our Sikh brother in this video stated that he would move to another country if he was not allowed to carry Kirpan, but in another video of this very channel he said: "Sikhs carried Kirpans (in UK) illegally even before the law came into existence, and if in case the law was to be removed, Sikhs would continue to carry this Kirpan illegally as it is part of our religion".

Respect the way you handled the situation! I feel like you should also explain the symbolism of the kirpan as well instead of just simply saying weapon.
