Hey, thanks for making this video! I am the original developer of LiveSPICE, though there are now several people contributing. I just stumbled across this video and it is great to see people using and enjoying it! I must admit, I can't actually play guitar very well (I spent all the time I should have spent learning to play working on LiveSPICE instead). Hearing someone play a guitar *well* through LiveSPICE is very satisfying for me :) To answer your question: I think making videos like this is great. I don't have a lot of visibility into how people are using LiveSPICE aside from the odd bug report on github, so seeing this video and all the comments on it is a lot of great new information for me.
Hey Dillon! Thanks for reaching out! The power of RUclips worked 👍 Glad I got to write to you in person and congratulate you to your program. Also credit to your co contributers. I will continue to make som videos. I use a boost made in livespice in almost every video so I hope it will get some exposure! Hopefully some more players will disco discover it. The modded matshall circuit I did in the video is still one of my favourite vst amp sounds! Any more gainstages and my computer cant keep up really. Thanks again!
@@Rohbemusic Yes, the demo in this video is great of course, but it also shows the whole workflow of iterating on a design, which is what I had in mind for LiveSPICE: you could tweak a circuit and test it without breadboarding or doing a ton of work by hand to build a simulation. Before LiveSPICE I was filling pages of paper with scratch work only to discover I made some dumb mistake a few pages back, after days of head banging on the desk!
Your creation is insanely cool good sir! I plan to get into using it as a bass player and audio effect pedal maker. I am super stoked, this is the most exciting thing I have seen in a hot minute. Thank you for LiveSpice. And to the player on this video, awesome demo good sir! You sound great btw.
Thank you very much for sharing these valuable information. I need to spend some time with this one, I'd really like to create some good fuzz pedals because there is not much choice in the VST world. I just bought you a coffee, keep up your great work!
Thank you! That is super cool. I have an electronic Engineering degree as well as a few music degrees. I used to use spice in school but never knew this existed. It bridges the gap between both of my worlds HaHa
Awesome stuff as usual! I love all this circuit tweaking and the various ways all the components interact with each other. LIVESPICE is a bit heavy on my machines, so I'm still using Nalex's Amplex and Truesim plugins. Truesim is a bit nicer to my CPU so I tend to just rock that for now. Keep up the great work showing these off man. :D
Thanks! Really love amplex and will do some videos on it for sure. Also digging deeper designing my own stuff. It’s easier on the cpu and sounds great! But I like livespice for the schematic layout and freedom!
Your Soldano example works as intended after adding a grid leak resistor to the fourth triode stage (marked as V12 on your schematic). Looking at some SLO schematics it should be something around 287k (330k + 2.2M in parallel). In case of Uberschall - sometimes solver produces a solution that's not numerically stable and it diverges during the simulation, as it is currently unable to always "guess" the stable pivots during the solving process. The workaround at the moment is to shuffle the order of the components in the schematic until it works stable. I've this trick implemented on my branch so it does this automatically when simulation fails, but in current version you have to do this manually, editing the ".schx" file in notepad 🙄 Also, some permutations might perform way better in terms of cpu usage than others.
Thank you so much! I will try that! There's still so much I dont understand on the computer side of it but in a real life circuit I have a better understanding 😊 Might still maybe need a better computer 😂

A cool idea would be to send the training wave file through ltspice to get the full amp 👍

do you have any alternatives for this livespice plugins. like gate, TS? I'm using MAC and I think they don't have it.

What's the difference between a ts9 with NAM and the same pedal with LiceSpice? Thanks
If I understand your question right one is a "capture" of a real pedal and the other is a simulation made of the circuit only in the computer 👍

Quick Q -
Signal chain and VSTs used?
Looks like a gate, stereo delay and others?
Hey! Thanks 👍 Gate, livespice boost (see video below),amp, Wall of sound ir loader, stereo delay. Thats it 👍

can you play it with the editor open while you're changing component values
Have you had much luck with JFET based circuits? I can never get it to make sound when I try jfet schematics.
