Eafengrow brand is already stepped up in their game with the high end/budget friendly products. Very nice build quality with decent materials. Their original designs spiced up with very good fit and finish. Chinese manufacturing companies improved a lot in the last few years. Way better than some overpriced American/European brands. 🤘

Alright, they are in fact D2 steel and have been for over 2 years now. Anyone who wants to know or questions that fact that a bit over 3 years back, before the companies ownership was taken over by a new individual yes there were some false advertisement of the blade steel. Now as I've previously stated this has been corrected for over 2 years with a new head of production.

*Warning* LuvThemKnifes has exposed this company at least 7 times lying about what blade steel they use.
The video evidence is from 3 years ago on his playlist labeled ( "Batch 28 knife steel tested with surprising results" ).
He sent in about 12 knives from various Chinese companies and this very company consistently is lying about their blade steel as advertise😠.
7 out of 7 knives he sent in for testing that this company claim to be D2 was something other than D2. And it wasn't a better blade steel, but worse.
Not saying their not telling the truth this time, but their track record is downright terrible.
There are definitely some no name, off brand Chinese companies that you may be shocked to find out that they aren't lying about blade steels such as M390 and alike but probably not this company👎.
I simply want to expose lying companies for what they are. Other than that, this knife is really nice and l would still pay the asking price if it were found to be 8CR13MoV or something like that👍.

@@williamster2015 Yes I recently head this also.
Now I can be wrong on this, but I think any of the EF knives in the 900 series are newer productions from a new manufacturer and guaranteed to be D2 or the advertised blade metal.
However there still are plenty of old stock knives floating around from the previous manufacturer in stores.
So basically when you're buying an older model EF knife that isn't a new release there's no way of knowing which manufacturer it was made at.
So pretty much any new release supposedly will be the correct blade steel and is guaranteed by EF 👍.

    • @williamster2015
      @williamster2015 Год назад +1

@@flipflat4814 at the numbers these knives are selling in if there are any old stock left the numbers will be low. I will add that D2 isn't the easiest to sharpen. I use Mostly True hard and surgical black Arkansas stones to keep my knives sharp. (I will use diamond stones when reprofiling an edge of removing a chip) if I were to remove to much steel or gain an edge with no effort I'd know something would be off.

Companies always have a choice in what they do and how they do it. Too bad that so often greed dictates that instead of making the best product at a reasonable price. The concept of value has given way to making the most money possible. But that is a short-sighted way to run a business.

Eafengrow had a choice to be honest about what blade steel the customer was buying at a particular price point. However for whatever reason they failed to deliver on their end 🤷.
They got called out on it over and over, and the US owner decided to change the ways of his company.
If I remember correctly he passed the buck to the Chinese manufacturer and it was their fault not his, imagine that🙄.
Go figure he supposedly had nothing to do with it, he was a victim just like the tens of thousands of his customers that thought they were buying a D2 knife blade🤷.
