    Nice clear instruction video, do you think this Transmitter is better then a Spektrun NX 8

      Yes, but a bit complicated to learn at first

    Thank you, will this procedure also work with an AS3X receiver?

  • @TeamYankee2
    @TeamYankee2 2 года назад +2

    If you have SAFE and AS3X then when you power the model.. immediately remove the bind plug.. then start the bind process... so then you will have SAFE and AS3X enabled.

    Hi. Nice video. Just a question concerning the tx16s transmiter performance. What about the range of this radio with this dsmx receiver?. I purchased this radio and I wonder if the power trasmision is so good as a original spektrum radio....I have several orange dsmx receivers and one original spektrum receiver. What is you experience?. Thank you in advance. Cheers

      Hi Oscar. I did not compare it side-by-side with my Spektrum DX6i radio, but it seems to be working fine with all my planes with a genuine Spektrum receivers. I also did not have any issues with my one Lemon-RX received either. I have an issues with one of my Orange receivers, which lost connection a few times during flight, and eventually crashed. However, I have heard issues with Orange receivers from my RC friends before, so this crash may be related to the receiver. It also works very well with my Corona and FrSky receivers. Good luck! All the best.

    Thank you for the video. I have a couple of questions though... a friend got a Carbon Cub S2. It does bind, but the channels are all messed up (doesnr recognize some switches and other things) . The protocol DSM X alone doesnt show in his TX16S. It is DSM X and like 4 different things. Same thing with a RM Zorro we had at hand at the time. So do these planes with Spektrum electronics need this bind plug?

    Hello, tell me please, I have a HORIZON EXTRA 300 aircraft. 1300mm. A Spektrum AR631 is installed there. connected TX16S, everything works, but I can’t find how to connect stabilization, beginner mode, can stabilization be activated on TX16S?

    nice video... does this radio show forward programming menu that shows on the spektrum radios for as3x, safe ?

    • @PropsWheels
      @PropsWheels  Год назад +1

      Thank you@ I have not done it, but I think it can be programmed. There are so many user-programmable options on this Tx.

    I always have the problem that when I bind TX16S with a DSMX receiver, lost signal within 50 meters or “ FR signal Critical” warning.

    Great video thank you! Bound to my own night VisionAire. I have lost the phone cable to program the as3x. Do you know if there is a default channel set to turn off the gyro function? Thanks

    • @PropsWheels
      @PropsWheels  3 года назад

      Hi Jack. Thank you!
      This blog post says that the patch cable is the only way to change it:
      www.hobbysquawk.com/forum/electronics-and-rc-accessories/rc-radios-receivers-and-accessories/51401-turning-off-as3x-in-a-spectrum-receiver
      "The mobile app is the only way, I have disabled it on all of my BNF planes including the E-Flite 1200 Corsair. I'm still looking for a way to disable the UMX AS3X receivers."
      In addition, it also mentions that some Horizon Hobby planes do not allow it even with this cable:
      "Sorry, I should have mentioned ................... depending on which AS3X RX you have, it may not be altered. For example some of the ones that come on their Sukoi or Corsair, is nearly impossible to go in and change anything. They are somewhat proprietary to those models and Spektrum doesn't want you messing with them. The ones you buy as "stand-alones" usually can be re-programmed. Check the Horizon site for that model of plane and/or RX to find out if it can be fiddled with."
      Good luck!

    That's very helpful but how do you control the switching of the as3x Safe mode positions, many thanks from Alan in the UK 👍👍🤗

    • @PropsWheels
      @PropsWheels  3 года назад

      Hi Alan. Thank you for your question. This airplane does not have the SAFE technology; it only has the AS3X. And on this receiver AS3X is always on and cannot be turned off via the transmitter (to my best knowledge). I am not sure if it can be disabled on the receiver. I hope this helps. Cheers!

    This is all very new to me and this helped a lot, but do you know how to set up a twin engine airplane? I can't seem to figure it out. Thanks!

    • @PropsWheels
      @PropsWheels  3 года назад +1

      For a twin "brushless" electric motor setup, you will need two ESCs (electronic speed controllers; one for each motor) that are connected to the "throttle" channel via a Y-cable (a.k.a. splitter cable). For a twin "brushed" electric motor setup, you can get away with only one ESC (basically these brushed ESCs are voltage controller) as long as it is big enough to feed both brushed motors (in terms of maximum current draw). Let me know if you need more details.

    • @PropsWheels
      @PropsWheels  3 года назад +2

      This airplane does not have the SAFE technology; just AS3X. I have not tried my TX16S on an airplane with SAFE, but I am planning soon. Please stay tuned.

    What is the point of setting up a AS3X equipped plane without showing us whether SAFE or stabilization is actually working? Thought that is what this video was going to be, all you did was show how to bind to any Spektrum receiver.

    • @PropsWheels
      @PropsWheels  3 года назад +4

      This airplane did not come with SAFE. The title says AS3X, not SAFE.

      Sure, but the purpose of this video is to demonstrate the details of this process to people who have not done it before.

      If you can do it in 3 minutes, it's good for you, but I'm a new beginner so it's perfect speed for me.

    Planes with preinstalled Spektrum receivers, like the Hobbyzone STOL 700 use TAER as their channel default whilst the TX16S uses AETR. How do you solve this conflict?
