Well done video. All steps were clear and easy to understand. Thanks for the effort you put into this. I'm sure many will benefit from this video. Thanks.
Very good. When first setting up a new V761 model, you can change the channels during model creation, instead of correcting later. Rather than AETR the Volantex channel order is RETA. So for ailerons, instead of accepting default of 1 you can change to 4. Then for rudder don't accept default of 4 but change it to 1. I saw this in an Albert Kim video. 🙂
Thanks. I have a Mini Wing Dragon and was able to get it working using the MT9XX mode. Selecting the Dragon submode enabled the telemetry. Use channel 5 on a 3 position switch to set the flight mode. Maybe this will work for other models as well.
Most of my planes 99% are now bound with my Radiomaster TX16S for higher resolution and convenience. Most of the time I duplicate from existing models and just change receiver type and minor adjustments, since I have so many customs inputs and mixes i copy across many planes.
I try to keep it very basic for all my planes. No exponential, just dual rates (or triple rates for aerobatic or fast airplanes). I am planning to program some elevator mixing for my planes with flaps, but that will be it. I try to fly my planes as manual as possible... just a preference I guess. How many planes do you have by now?
Jake: Thanks for your comment about setting up for FPV. I have tried to do this with my Eachine P51D, but have had a devil of a time getting the CG right. Perhaps because I have crashed a lot testing this setup, my gyro does not seem to be working properly. The plane will fly straight and level okay initially, but as soon as I try to turn, it tip stalls and noses into the ground. I mounted a simple microcam in the cockpit directly behind the canopy screen area, mounted onto a small chip of popsicle stick with hot glue, using an Eachine VTX03 for video transmitter, hot glued it to the canopy sides, and run the antenna under the canopy, and out through the seam behind the canopy. The battery cable was connected to the battery which sites in a slot cut in the foam between the tail and the canopy. Choosing a small, but not too small battery (or too big) has been a challenge for center of gravity setting. My P51D started out significantly nose heavy, making the addition of FPV gear further back less of a problem. I used a piece of clear molded plastic from a merchandise display pack to the fuselage of the plane, enabling the reading of the channel & band LED lights easy before, during, & after flight. So how did you do yours? Thanks. -Jim
@@jamesceastep8874 I'm using a VC400. AIO cam powered off the flight battery, it's mounted best the front of the canopy on the CG balance point. It's flies well, and doesn't affect flight time much.
Awesome vid! Thanks for this explanation. 1 question though. Is it possible to assign the "stunt" button to the tx16s? If so please do a little vid explaining how.
Very cool. Does using the Tx16s increase the range of the plane significantly? I want to use an fpv camera but am afraid to fly it out of range. Thank you.
Thanks. How would you set up the aeronautics switch especially as it is a button and not a switch? Also how did you find out the name of the protocol as it is not mentioned in the manual?
Informative video, thanks. I would like to setup a switch as a throttle disable switch so when I am setting up my plane I don't have to worry about the prop spinning. Is there a way to do this?
Yes, go to special funktions in your opentx radio and then create a new function, assign a switch and choose the function "override" , then select your throttle channel and set the value to -100. At the end make sure to check the checkbox and you have a throttle cut
Thanks for the vid - have you bound a Volantex Ranger 400 to your radio? I tried v761, the plane responded to the bind ... but NONE of the controls work. Multiple tries, also cycling power, nothing. Any suggestions?
You description was excellent. Thank you! Does anyone know if the C2500 chip from the 4 in 1 module is the one that runns the V761 control code? I only have the C2500 chip in my Radiomaster TX12, so this is important to me. - Jim
I think the protocol is the same in both FCC and LBT (European) versions. The only difference should be the radio's power output (lower in the LBT version). In any case, I read that you can flash your RadioMaster to FCC firmware if you desire, although illegal.
@@PropsWheels I read that on the sellers page: The 4in1 LBT version (Europe) is limited to the LBT-compatible protocols FrSKY X/X2 LBT, HoTT LBT and DSMX in the factory settings . But thank you for the flashing hint. (how you find out the V761 Protokoll ?? Is that documentated somwhere ? great find !!)
Hi, I managed to do everything as what you have shared. The flying mode seems working fine. However, on acro mode, the moment the throttle is on, the gyro is also on automatically and I am not able to fly in acro mode. How to overcome ya?

this is very helpful thank you. i only have 1 Volantex plane (sportcub 500) and dont have any eachine planes. each time i turn on my TX16S, it seems to have "forgotten" the volantex receiver and i have to bind it again. can you help me? thanks

Can you help me bind it to the original radio control, and that is because I Lost the original Airplane that comes with the Radio, and I did buy the versión of without radio, because I all ready have one
Just tried this on my tx16 and it hasn’t worked. The receiver binds but then won’t respond. After much research, the only solution is to bind to the receiver and then turn on the range test button to reduce the power of the transmitter. Unfortunately that shuts down access to any other screens. Advice on how to overcome this problem would be appreciated.
Hi Michael. Is it the same version as mine? Sometimes manufacturers switch to another protocol over time on the same model. Is your new or did you purchase it a while back? Probably this is a stupid question, but I should still ask: did you follow all steps I outlined in this video in the correct order?
I've got mine a few days ago and binding it sort of worked. I saw the red light inside the fuselage stoped blinking which normally indicates that the binding process was successful. But the controls didn't work. Then I accidentally entered the range option which reduces the output power and the controls suddenly moved. So I have to turn on low power mode permanently to make it work. I haven't had a chance to fly it yet and see if the range is good enough on low power mode. I remember seeing in a different tutorial video that some toy grade models require this mode to function properly
@@Earlboone Yea I discovered this also with the BF 109. Binds just fine with my X9D+ set up for V761 but I had to select reduced power for it to work with my new TX16S.

Spekrum has it's proprietary software install on their radios. You will need a radio that supports Open TX software to work with these planes.
Why would I need to rebind when the radio is power cycled?
