You boys really are the smartest collectively in this space. Love your content! And I posted elsewhere, UNTIL the rest of the majors step up like the Masters in inviting the best players then every winner from 2 years ago forward have a big asterisk next to their name. Because everyone in the world on both sides of the argument knows you didn’t beat the best. Keep doing what you’re doing, we appreciate you all!
We need an officially sanctioned tour of youtube golf personalities with official GHIN handicaps in place. Single day, 18 hole tournaments. Net scoring. 20 week season with the championship the last week. We'd follow along the season to see where Trent or Frankie is in the standings vs Micah or Trottie. Then we'd all tune in four times a year for the majors to see the actual best in the world play.
Left left field here, but from New Zealand, tiny market, we get PGA TOUR & DP tour live coverage all the time, When American tv goes to the ads we just get golf shots with no talk over... a friend video called me once watching the same coverage in america and it was unwatchable because of those ads etc .. End of the day, the money comes from the consumer, if we aren't spending the world of sports tips over... Tv rights become less, and you would see a pull back
Yeah, the commercials in golf are insane in the US. Same goes for college football in the US, the commercials almost make it unbearable to watch. NFL football isn't as bad because they have better TV deals and control the game time/TV time slots.
@@altie29 It became a running joke over a 15-20 min call of "ad now" back to golf, back to ads... and all in that time I hadn't watched one advertisement slot
Competition is what people want. That’s why the “competition” b\w LIV and PGA is more entertaining than the actual product they are trying to push on a weekly basis
I think one of the beautiful things about youtube golf is It's a much more intriguing journey. For many reason but I think one of the core parts is the changing venue. Like my golf household is way more locked into stuff like Luke kwons travel series. Hell I think my all time favorite was garret and grants road trip competitions
This is precisely why I start with driver. All I’m trying to do is get loose at the beginning. Driver teed up requires less “precision” than anything else. Just make solid contact without worrying about hitting fat, thin, etcetera.
Can we please do a Trent H8er series? I’ve been on Trent for a while about how he plays and I’m the same handicap as him. I want him to put me in my place lol
The thing that has made youtube golf so popular is the drama between PGA & LIV. I recently went to my first LIV event and it was interesting but with all the talent split up between the two its hard to care that much.
The Lakers Warriors and Knicks are worth ~8 billion a piece and the NBA as an organization is likely to have a 10 year 80 billion media contract next year. The TV deals are divided equally among the teams so ~250mil per team every year. The NBA has a players union so the salaries are more representative of the profits the NBA makes. Also 1230 games total through the season and $250 tickets is a lot of revenue for teams to generate. There is only one team that is unprofitable currently, the Brooklyn Nets, which are still valued at 4 billion.
Full Swing release date is a pump for ratings. I would say it's questionable as to why they are choosing March. Maybe they are saving the ratings "pump" for the Masters stretch...
You guys are probably too young to remember "Battle of the Network Stars". Was a big hit way back in the day. That's essentially what RUclips golf is. It's less about the athletic ability, and more about personalities and rivalries. Pro golf is full of amazing talent but completely devoid of personality or rivalry.
Frankie talking about economics: "Everything is crazy expensive and it makes no sense and it feels unsustainable and it's like a bubble or something I don't even know what it is but I wonder about it all the time but I still don't get it so I just live my life and forget all about it."
I don’t know how this all works out, but when talking about professional golf nobody brings up the fact that a typical golf fan is far more valuable than those of other sports. First, just the average income of golf fan is much higher than that of the average sports fan. You’re not going to see a lot of BMW and Rolex ads on your average bball game. Next, the typical golf fan plays golf and puts thousands back into the game via memberships, green fees, cart renal, equipment … I’m not sure how pro golfers fit into this “ecosystem,” but I’m assuming they are important to keeping the recreational game fresh.
These NBA players need to be returned to being employees of the owners and the NBA. Large fines, minimum “rest days” and shut your mouth and play basketball. These players could give a fuck about the fans.
Big big big problem with golf broadcasting now is WAY TOO MANY COMMERCIALS. It;'s honestly unwatchable now so I'll be watching less golf and keep it to the majors and a few select tournaments.
Golf isn’t as interesting bc it’s all about the money. I don’t care about the money and the average guy who isn’t in the pga tour doesn’t care. I watch golf for the spirit and history of the pga tour. When you make everything about money it’s so dumb
I get you don’t want to get political in the pod but for you guys to sound so obvious to what’s happening around you is sickening. Acting dumb to the idea that inflation isn’t seen or felt by the common people is ridiculous.

Golf in a nutshell…I have Mexico open on mute in the background but watching you guys…
Good shout on Detry Clappaport missed the cut by a cool 7 shots

RUclips golf is the future.

Listening to these guys talk about basic economics is like watching a bison try to dance ballet.
The segment about Alex in the Sims game had me dying 😂😂😂
good closest to the pin question: next pga tour event (non major) played by a current LIV player?
I love fore play boys talking about the economy.
24:20 dan the signing bonus is gigantic lol that’s kinda a factor

During the "From The Gallery" Segment Dan looks like he is watching an Isis beheading video at one point. hahaha
49:48 this aged well after 1 round... #dkpartner

The information about Mbappe is wrong.

no attempts were made on Riggs life that evening, i can confirm.
“Try” and beat Riggs
The general population appeal isn’t there on the PGA tour but LIVs model is the only chance to increase it. LIV and the Majors need to be future focus

Year over year tv ratings cant really be looked at. All sports TV ratings are down
Cuban is moving to Canada if Trump wins. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Cuban wants to build a casino and get into the gambling space in Dallas. Can’t do that and own an nba franchise.
The big contracts has ruined sports. And it’s only going to get worst. Sports is now all about gambling and getting your bag.
The money is why people don’t sports anymore the path sports are going isn’t sustainable
9:30 literally no one in golf cares about Joaquin Niemann. If you didnt see him at the Masters no one would care.
Man you guys need to get away from tiger. He’s done.

Also NBA is a dying brand that’s not kid ourselves. Regular season irrelevant and they had to add a in season tournament, embarrassing 🤣
