That's the thing... Europe just can't define itself and their "national" interest. And that's because in order to do that, they need tu understand that they are not longer an actor but an escenario...

    EU position?
The same as DC. It's that simple.

To be a serious geopolitical power, EU lacks more military muscle and agency. The West will have to strive and fight for its way of governing the world and EU can not and should not shy away from that. Geopolitical adversaries have to be aware of our military capability that can come into play if need be. Otherwise UA scenario happens.

Israel War has shown us how American influence is declining day by day. They are literally showing Americans the door. This in turn shows EU that we need to have our own policy towards the Middle East and then the necessary tools of hard and soft power to advance our interests. Now the challenge for EU is having one voice in some matters and then leaving space for individual members to have their own voice. We are headed towards a Regional Planet. As the Americans continue their rapid decline, regional blocs like Mercosur, Arab League, African Union and so forth are going to become much more important. Then geopolitical matters between continents will be approached on the bloc level. It will be a much better world than what we had in the Unipolar Moment.
The big geopolitical story to watch is the coming end of American power. Just look at their budget numbers. If you annualize the last 6 weeks, their deficit per year would be $5 trillion! That is 5% of the global GDP! And that rate of collapse is only going to increase. Remember, most of US debt is in short-term treasury bonds. All those trillions they had at no interest rates will have to be refinanced atop the already unsustainable deficits they have now. I believe in 2023 or 2024 their annual interest payments will be $1 trillion, or 25% of the federal budget. They are dead mean walking in a fiscal sense.
