Will you be taking treking poles with you. Supposedly they take 30% of the pressure off the knees. They certainly help me. I'm looking forward to your hike. I take a powerpack with me every hike. Best thing I ever bought. Thanks for sharing Stephen.
Good Stuff, Stephen! You’re doing well to get ready for the real hills! My wife and I did the same for a 3-day, 2-night section we did on the AT (Carver’s Gap to US 19E) about 3 years ago, but it still whipped us Florida Flat Landers! You’ll do much better than we did, I’m sure! It’s awesome that you recognized the group could use your help, and then provided it. It’s easy to get overheated with our heat/humidity combo. Keep up your training, be safe, and enjoy your Foothills Trail. I know it’s gonna be beautiful and you are gonna love it!
I just got back from black mountains in NC, few miles from Mount Mitchel which is the highest peak east of the Mississippi. now I'm back home in south Georgia. One thing you have to account for is the elevation oxygen decrease, but the foothills shouldn't be too bad. Mountain hiking is something you get used to but the first days can be pretty brutal. On the plus side the canopy in those mountains are thick which makes a Huge difference. I'm looking forward to see your mountain videos, I was awfully sad to leave north Carolina. Its beautiful beyond belief
You are a good man Stephen.
Thanks
good for you to check on those folks...that is some good medicine indeed!!!

Yes I will take my trekking poles. I have a couple of power packs I’m taking with me also.
