Are there any fortifications on the island to the west of Oscarborg?

The island west of Kaholmen is Håøya, the largest island in inner Oslofjord. The souteastern quarter of the island has been military area and part of the fortress since the 1890s. Three batteries were built on Håøya during the 1890s; The Upper Top battery with two 12cm Armstrong M 1897, Lower Top battery with eight 12cm Norwegian guns (remodelled from Rifled muzzle loaders to backloaders with Bofors barrels) and the Howitzer battery with four 28 cm Armstrong Whitworth M 1891. All the guns were removed by the Germans during the occupation, but the gun positions are still there. So are the fortified command posts, the roads and several house fundaments. There is also a memorial for 11 Norwegian and one Dutch (all civilians) executed by the Germans on Håøya in 1942-1943.
We do have a video from Håøya in this catalogue, but regrettably in Norwegian only. Our museum offers guided tours also on Håøya in the summer season.
