this video is perfect for me! I love vans, woodworking, and Milwaukee tools and this was an all in one video
I was looking for a video showing how to make a simple and efficient shelf for the van and yours was the best
Thanks for sharing such an amazing video. I must say you are doing a great job. Keep doing such hard work. Your videos are very informative. Keep posting! Good Luck with your upcoming updates.
Thanks 😊 for sharing your experience doing shelving thank that video help me to make my on shelves for my work van 👍👍
How I can do to share a picture so you can see how my shelve look like
I have my Instagram linked in my bio
8:39 Yup it does...Thanks for making it real
Very good 👍 job I try looking different models shelves for my van and I like this thanks for put in the video.
Glad it helped! Thanks for watching
Great job! Like the Hunter in the background. Watching this for ideas. Designing for an irrigation service work in a Ford Transit.
We have an irrigation division and use the same van setup for them.

Nice
Can you send a pic of it ?
Loved it. Thanks for the ideas. Will try this out
Good job 👍
Nice video
Excellent brot
At 8:38, I used to build cabinets, we would use a nail gun to set the panels where theyre supised to go, then when you have all the structure framed up, drive the screws for strength. .
I will use that the next set I build
Excelente , parabéns.
Good video. I think you should place some 4x8 foam board on top of your saw horses underneath the plywood. That way you’re not trying to hold your cut offs. They’re supported by the foam board and the best part is that you don’t have to worry about cutting through your horses.
I've seen that done. I really need to adopt that in my woodworking
Good job muchachon 😌
Thank you
Amazing
I love this Video ! Specially the grim reaper in the back Santa Muerte
Thanks for watching!
great job!!!! paint it!!!
Thank you! We tried it once but it didn't hold up so decided its not necessary
Not bad job for a plumber. I know one sparky who cut his tendon when was building he's van racking.
1:50 When you are about 3/4 of the way through a long cut like that, pause and slide the sawhorses over so they are supporting both sides of the wood, then when you get to the end you don't have to hold it up because the sawhorses are already holding up both pieces.
I just make my own horses out of timber and cut straight through them 😂😂
@@kraigjohnstone3217 I cut through so many plastic ones before making my own 🤣
I was thinking same. He is probably not familiar in cutting plywood. He was cutting very slow and marked with chalk which smears the board and is blown away easily.
Great job..
I am planning on doing new shelf system for my NV tall van
Really don’t like the metal ones
Thank you! We have a couple vans with metal they seem to be louder when driving.
Are you sure you have been doing these types of shelving for years? It looked like it was your first attempt but then I saw the plumber materials and it all made sense.
That’s exactly what I thought, bout it is great he did it he’s self , this is me when I am excited
put shelf top left for ladder ladder , I fitted bars in ceiling left to right for long items even ladder depend on depth of shelves.
First time you've used a skil saw?
Dude!
Use 7/8 strut for your pipe wrenches they fit in between
I will have to try that out. Thank you
When you're mounting/securing to the van, how do you line up the self-tappers?
I measured from the floor up and then marked it on the shelves so I knew where to screw through
8:40 Clamp it all together, make sure it's all the right size, square and true, then screw it together.
Next time I will build these at my house where I have all my woodworking tools. Had to make do this time. Thanks for the comments. Appreciate it!
fc thailand 👍👍👍
Awesome. But how do you mount / secure it to the van?
I used self tappers. At 16:45 I go over where I screw it and show the screws. They are 1 1/2 inches long
@@dave_adamson Are those self tapping screws still holding?
@@bethdaly951 yup still holding strong haven't had any issues so far
If you're mostly using bins, why have a full backing on the shelves? Why not a lip in the back too. Seems like you could save some weight, prolly negligent though.
It helps from stuff falling behind as I do put some parts in there not in bins like drop cloths. But also adds a lot of rigidity. But I'm sure no back would work well too
Alwight Dave? Wow your beard's grown dude, thinking about it your accent has changed somewhat. Hell your Joinery got a shitload better too....... xD
Are you able to put a full sheet of plywood in it now?
Not flat unfortunately. I just lean it against the shelves on an angle
I bet those wood shelves are way quieter than the metal ones.
They are! using plastic bins also helps
How wode are these 16-18 inches?
18 inches. This was to fit the bins I use better
Nice but you should really fit a plywood bulkhead behind the seats to keep your van secure , also consider fitting some extra security locks on the load doors to provide the best secure van you can , I know it's not going to stop the most determined thieving scum out there but it will be a whole lot better than the factory fitted locks that are useless , good luck and keep the video's coming.......👍
Thank you for the suggestions! Luckily really haven't had any issues with that. our service areas tend to be in nice areas which is very fortunate for us. we store our vans in a locked yard at night. but doesn't mean we can't be too careful.
How can I contact you?
you can find me on instagram and message me there instagram.com/dave_da_plumber/
How much please
I think at the time it was about $250 to $300. Depends on wood prices.
Awesome, but that music is grating on my nerves!
It says it's a Transit-150. That's too much wait for a 150.
Why? Can you post the difference in payloads between the 150, 250 and 350?
*weight
Payload capacities on these newer vans are very close to each other. 150- 3630lbs 250- 4030lbs but change a little with options.
Oi
Ficou muito ótimo
As soon as I heard the music start , I pushed STOP!!!
Enough with the damn music people , damn !!!!
That is shocking. Can tell your a plumber
