Hi Carmen, the information shared in this video was extremely helpful. Thank you for going through the granular detail and making practical examples. It is very useful.
Hi Carmen, I would like to ask you a quick question. I have given notice on 31 March 2023. My employer has now called a disciplinary hearing scheduled for Friday 14 April 2023 (My last working day as I have given 14 days notice....). There was no mention or intention of a disciplinary hearing until after I resigned. It appears that it is just to complicate things further should it go to the CCMA. Should I attend or refuse to attend it? The employer has been making my life miserable for the last 2 months which forced me to hand in my resignation. As Friday is my last day, what use would there be for a disciplinary hearing? The offenses are for a so-called company policy that I did not comply with (the employer was aware of this before and never objected before or point out that this against company policy). There also is no written company policy documents. The 2nd is for engaging in a business activity in competition with the company but I never signed my employment contract as it was unreasonable and the alleged competitive act was not a business activity.
The information you give is extremely valuable. Thank you and keep it up!
