    The eggshell thing is so interesting! I actually googled it and found out that it's true, eggshells keep out cockroaches and lizards~ Anyway, I can never look at the Laughing Cow cheese spread the same way after hearing what your mother-in-law had said. Honestly, that part about the Laughing Cow really cracked me up. xDD Still, your mother-in-law's so adorable.

    • @persianOUTKAST
      @persianOUTKAST 4 года назад +3

      ^ 100% *NOT* true. nothing on *Google* that verifies or substantiates this, outside of 1 or 2 random websites, that anyone could've created, & didn't provide any proof.
      all the websites that talk about *_"natural way to repel cockroaches"_* are inaccurate - there's no magical thing out there that *_"smelsl bad to the cockroach"_* & repels them.
      cockroaches are attracted to anything & EVERYTHING b/c they EAT anything & EVERYTHING; thus, they'll be attracted to the eggshells.
      the only 100% effective way to get rid of them is w/ chemical sprays/pesticides; or if you prefer a more "natural" way, using salt based powders that contain *boric acid* .
      throw it on the floor, in the corners, & in dark/damp locations where they might hide. cockroaches will eat it (again, b/c they eat EVERYTHING), & they'll die.

    Lizards will generally keep away from broken eggs because it signifies the presence of bigger predators like snakes. However, this only works if the eggs shells are freshly broken. If you leave them there for a long time, they become aware that the danger is no longer there.
    On the other hand, eggs attract predators like snakes and I”m not a fan of that so I don’t do this although I really want to keep lizards away too.

My entire family do not consume beef at all, this is quite common among Chinese folk religionists and Taoists.

    The eggs shell needs to be replaced frequently. It'll work a bit when the house lizards are not used to seeing eggs shell and new eggs shells still has eggs shell smell. The eggs shell act as a repellent to the lizards because the lizards felt threatened, they thought there are predators that eat eggs around that area where there are egg shells. However this method won't work for long term.
